Low on blood need blood help, Bland colors
tommy290 replied to exomonkeyman's topic in General Discussion
I think you can eat and drink a ton, which will allow you to regain blood. I assume this will not be a quick process though. Or, you can get a blood bag. Still no idea how those work. I think I have all the stuff necessary, but not positive. -
how do i put my torch into my inventory....

I think there are two ways: One, hit the hot key button so the flashlight isn't selected. Two, open your inventory and move it to your backpack/pants/etc. -
[SA] Opening Boxes From Inventory Menu
tommy290 replied to Statik (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yeah, I always just move the box to my hands and it shows everything in it. I believe you can use the items from that screen too. Pretty sure I did that with a bandage, but not positive. But yes, to just access the contents of the med box, move to your hands in the normal inventory screen. Works like a charm. -
You can shock me. That'd be funny.

[SA] Opening Boxes From Inventory Menu
tommy290 replied to Statik (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Wait. You guys don't already move things to your hands to open them? I thought that's how it works? -
TL;DR :P One thing that I think would be interesting would be to allow people to have and/or gain knowledge of surgery/medical care. I wouldn't make this dependent on real-world knowledge, because then you're excluding people who might otherwise really want to be a medic. But I think it would be awesome to expand on the TMW idea... Characters that could actually have specific skills to help those in need, and the mechanism to increase or improve those skills. I believe a lot of people have basic first aid knowledge, which would coincide with DayZ. I can certainly bandage myself if necessary. I might even be able to start an IV. But I couldn't fix a broken bone, remove a bullet, etc. If characters in DayZ couldn't fix every problem just by finding the right item, it would increase the value of lives. Don't kill a medic if he's the only way to stop you from dying from a bullet wound, ya know?

Maybe he had to go to the bathroom?

Why do you "have" to feel bad for being a bandit/kos?
tommy290 replied to Nesuma (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I'm not comparing the games. On the contrary, I'm saying they're completely different experiences, which is why you should play the one that has the experience you're actually looking for. It seems like some people are trying to force DayZ to have a CoD/BF experience, and I don't think it's in their best interest. If they just want a high kill tally, why not go to the game designed for that? Again, I have no issues with bandits. I don't have an issue with PVP. I just think it's cheap for people to go along the coast and kill everything that moves for no reason other than to kill them. In my opinion, those people aren't actually looking for a fair fight. They want easy and numerous kills. They don't want action - they want a guaranteed "win". -
You should be able to open cans with most sharp objects now (axe, screwdriver, etc). I haven't personally tested it, but that's what I'm hearing. As stated, if you find a can opener just drag it to the can and use the open function. I've also heard you can find the openers in industrial type spots. Personally I've only found one, but don't remember where I got it. I think it was in a grocery store, but can't be positive.

I would venture to guess this is not how you're playing though. I have no issue with bandits who are having fun, holding people up, stealing their stuff, etc. However, I typically see bandits say they're "looking for action!!!" all while shooting people in the back who have no idea a bandit is even near them. That's not action. If you engage other players head on and have firefights, that's action. If you let the unarmed people go because they pose absolutely no challenge, that's banditry. If you shoot everything that moves simply to kill, you have to stop claiming you're looking for action. You're simply looking for deathmatch and should go play a PVP shooter. -
Switch to a low pop server. This will help ensure not every town is stripped. Find a large industrial building for a backpack. I found 3 in one today. I run across the smaller backpacks all the time. Grocery stores seem to have the dry foods (cereal, rice, etc). Usually pop too. But I don't see much fresh fruit anywhere. Check houses. They're not bad for grabbing a can or something. Also, use the wells. So easy to get hydrated with one, which means you can save your cans of pop for a longer hike. I've had the most luck going a little out of the way. Everyone talks about barracks and stuff, but they're always wiped clean when I get there. So I go to the outskirts of a big town where I don't think most people go. Then you can find stuff. As for guns, I don't see them often. If I do find them, I can't find bullets. It's kind of a pain.

I bought it just so I can axe people to death every chance I get.

I totally agree, specifically with the point that people don't have indicators in real life. On the contrary, I am acutely aware of when I am hungry and thirsty, especially when it gets to a point where I would be experiencing negative effects such as going unconscious. I believe an icon based system is much more realistic in terms of gauging hunger and thirst.

Is there a summary of all known issues somewhere?

Good story. :) -
I assume you're playting Epoch and found a supply crate. You can use it to store pop, scrap metal, tank traps, or wire fence. It can hold 12 of any one type of item. You can load 6 at a time. Put the crate and six items in your main inventory, then right click on the crate to get the option to pack crate.

Sometimes things are buired or search doesn't work well. Happens to the best of us. Good luck in getting up and running. If you need help figuring out the game, there's a couple nice spots to visit: http://mustygaming.com/Forum/ <-- lots of good people and have fun servers with custom stuff http://tmwdayz.com/ <-- also lots of good people and they offer training sessions to help you learn how to play, fly helis, be a medic, etc.

Have you ever noticed that his avatar looks like a combination of James Hetfield and David Mustaine? Crazy huh?
