I think a refund is in order. Were you ever warned that this was in alpha state, and not a full release version? NO! Show me one place that said it's alpha and that you shouldn't expect it to be free from bugs and/or not have all the content implemented! It's a sham I say! A SHAM!

DayZ may have originally been created before WarZ, but you have to admit that a lot has been copied from WarZ to be put into DayZ, once the devs saw how good WarZ was.

I think we can all agree that WarZ is a much better game and DayZ should've followed in its footsteps.

DayZ Commander. It's easy to get the base mod plus any other mods (Epoch, other maps, etc.).

Is there a reason you don't want to build your own? Just curious. In my experience, you can get much more bang for your buck if you build it yourself.

I can, as I was watching it specifically due to my screen being faded. Basically you have to get your food AND drink both up to good levels. When that happens, you'll get a status message on your inventory (where it normally shows hungry/thirsty/bleeding) that says "Healing". When you are 100%, it'll say "Healthy". There was a thread someone posted screen caps, but damned if I can't find it right now or I'd link it.

Unless you have another person with you, medical supplies aren't going to help with your blood. You need to eat/drink a bunch to get yourself healing. Or find someone who can do a blood transfusion.

Welcome to the club. DayZ is a great game. I thoroughly enjoyed the mod, and so far have had fun with SA. There's lots of good info and tips around here, but be careful about posting without searching first. People will descend upon you like rabid dogs if you're posting something that's been posted many times before.

Good luck in finding someone to show you the ropes. DayZ definitely has a learning curve, and I agree it's a lot faster learning if you have someone in game just showing you how to do things. Plus I've had the most fun when I'm teamed up. Always something crazy going on when you have a group traveling with you. :)

Have you tried servers from a different host? I thought I saw somewhere that one of the hosts was having issues keeping the characters... Can't remember which host though..

Subjective opinion, not fact or rational argument.

I believe the fact that you're not spawned in at 100% is what's throwing people off. I initially thought the hunger/thirst system was ridiculous... However, I then discovered the eating/drinking until full. Once I did that, I never got another message and I've been playing for hours. Now, I still eat and drink, but basically I just consume whatever I find while looting. It takes almost no time to simply pick up a can of pop and drink it, or munch on the orange laying there. Also, my backpack has probably too much food/drink in it, so I could probably go across the map without looting and still be just fine. If you only eat/drink one thing when the message pops up, then it's going to show up again pretty soon and could lead to people thinking the system is broken.

I like the ideas. It would be interesting to have certain medical items that can only be equipped in the weapon slot, thus forcing a person to choose between a gun and said medical items. Also, I would be a big fan of skills increasing based on how often you complete certain tasks. The more you practice something in real life, the better you get at it. That should apply in game. Allowing a person to grow as a medic would be awesome for those who don't like PVP as much, but still want to provide value to a group or other players.
