  1. only regular servers are guaranteed to support third person I think. Although it will usually say "3RD PERSON,ON" after the server name. I would prefer if all veteran servers ahd no third person as I prefer first person but not if it leaves me at a disadvantage.
  2. Dude have you ever worked with a game engine ? :-/ Fixing things can break other things that you may not be aware of. Same goes internal testing and live testing its two different worlds Might work good in the "lab" but in the outside world with allot of variables it can break. So give him a break. its far more complex than you can ever imagine besides that, rocket knows what he's doing. that being said he and the rest of the dev team are PEOPLE who make mistakes or are trying different approaches of fixing a problem. its a darn alpha its allowed 2 screw up ! Fuck that bullshit, I code in python, program in C#, and a little in Java. I've written some semi complex programs with multiple modules and I still couldn't fathom what it takes to do these devs jobs. My step brother is a professional programmer and says he would never make games because its too much work for too little reward when having to deal with dickheads like you. Appreciate the reality of what your saying.
  3. look under troubleshooting its a known thing
  4. I agree. But your not new to the internet or the kids table that is game forums, are you? Most people, especially people who have grown up privileged enough to have access to the kinds of hardware required to play these games are arrogant, self entitled little shits who look down on people for purely being in a less fortunate position than them. The world will keep spinning and Bohemia will do what they do regardless of the myriad of petty shit these self entitled pricks want to think has any real bearing on 90% of the planet.
  5. UK 21 is ok. But the lag problems from the update are very visible.
  6. anyone play skate 3? the product placement in that was horrific. A mission would be grind the 'any company' billboard for thrash magazine. But if that can help monetize the game without the need to make it an mmo style pay 2 play Im for it.
  7. The latest beta has caused an extreme loss in fps for me, the game had previously run fine.
  8. you renamed the original Arma2OA.exe and then replaced it with arma2oa.ex from the beta folder?
  9. Are there any known UK servers I can go on since updating the patch?
  10. Your eyes do slightly adjust in game, when you put on or take of goggles and when you first appear on the server at night. Actually play at night a little longer and you'll probably notice it.
  11. As the thread says. I shot a guy in the supermarket today, my first unprovoked killing. I came round the corner and he was just there, turned out it was my team mate
  12. He was being sarcastic... But I really don't want them to change it, I like having realistic length night and days and having a truly dark night. I think what should happen is that each hosting country has a number of inverted servers, that are day at night. That way people who have jobs and a life can play but we don't have to ruin the realism. Also NVGs should be less rare, night fights in the town similar to the first Arma II campaign mission I'm all for.
  13. @CrossShade I hear that. I think each loot pile has under 50 percent a chance of spawning in itself so that damages a players chances even further in this equation but I agree with what your saying its like buying one ticket and winning the lottery. @ThatGuyWithNoHands For sure. @Hawk "The loot sheet lists them as basic military structures, which aren't supposed to spawn NVGs at all" ..This is what I thought
  14. Thanks for the info. @Zed Yeah @CrossShade Do they Definitely spawn in the hangers? @Griff I only know of them being at two barracks in North West Airfield and apparently helo crash sites, one guy said he found his in a barn though? I've been alive 7 days now and for 3 my mission has been nv googles. Still no luck. Any chance of you sharing some of the other spots? @HorribleSniper Definitely
  15. NO Wary of how it might give away a bandits position and or be too slow an indicator for a survivor (20 isn't enough for this one, maybe 40)
  16. one of the absolute best thing about a 2 man squad is when your dying there with the funky green hour glass and broken bones and thinking that's it I lost my skin, my gun, my goggles and then suddenly your boy revives you. Keep stocked up on medical supplies because its not something you truly appreciate when you're alone. Resist the urge to split up and cover ground faster, its a false economy. Designate one guy to keep checking the map and keep track of where you are. Its bullshit when you both go to check the map and get caught off guard. As some one else said, use different guns with different ammo. Plan your exit strategy and vocalize it. Have a rally point, there's only two of you, getting split up can be costly. have fun.
  17. I have a geforce 9800gt, in a semi old box and it runs extremely well, shogun 2 was actually much worse and still ran very well. I think some ppl over hype the system requirements to seem elite. All though ppl have given good advice in this particular thread.
