I don't KOS, but all I do in DayZ at the moment is look for PVP action. Please tell me what else there is to do in the game yet. Not die of hunger/thirst? Easy. Find loot? Easy. Eradicate the zombie threat? Way too easy. Make a base? No bases. Fix up a vehicle? No vehicles. This game is only challenging and fun for me when I'm in combat with other players. It will get better when there is more content in the game and they make the game harder. -

No, I've noticed a general increase in un-looted military areas since the new implementation. I definitely feel it has had a positive effect in regards to server hoppers. I've not been ghosted on since the update on either. I'd even go so far as to say I would like the timer increased. DayZero mod did it well: 15 minutes if you wanted to rejoin a server on the same hive. -
The NWA just doesn't have the same allure as in the mod. It used to be the only place with barracks and the military loot that came with them. Military loot falls out of the sky in Standalone.

I didn't say you wouldn't die. You expect to survive and get gear on every life? DayZ is meant to be hardcore. But yeah, it's still too easy to survive and get geared up, even on full servers. It's still an easy game atm. And this worries me, because there are so many posters like you who think the game is too hard. the game is going to have to take a direction and one of us will be left disappointed. -

There's too much loot. It's far to easy to gear up. If you don't have the highest grade gear within 2-3 hours, even on a full server, you've not been looking hard enough. But yeah, zombies do suck at the moment. There's no where near enough of them and their A.I is too simple and buggy. I hope Bohemia are making zombies a top priority to work on. -

I quite like it clean. What I eventually want to see though is more player created horror - blood trails/splatters, dead bodies decaying slowly, destructible environments, piles of dead zombies etc. -
One for Regular (Clan server) For Hardcore, any with a high pop and low ping.

I found one once, at the top of a Fire Station. Was ecstatic. Came down the stairs and just died randomly. All I could do was lol.

I've killed about 75% of what I would have if players couldn't combat log. Which maybe 20+, in 110 hours. None were unarmed/unprovoked kills - except when I killed a clan mate in error (Alt-tab). Whoops. -

No. The majority hop because they're impatient they want all their gear in one hour instead of two. It's the same reason certain people moan about the current east coast spawning locations. It's not hard to get gear legitimately in DayZ at all. Loot spawns in abundance and the environment isn't threatening whatsoever. It's far too easy a game at the moment. It seems to me like a lot of players would choose to spawn with full load-out in Balota, if given the option. I dread to see the forums when Rocket implements vastly reduced military loot spawns.

Well I trust these developers. I've very much enjoyed the BI games I've played over the years. Bohemia are an indie developer, who consistently make games aimed at a hardcore market. DayZ was an extremely successful mod that would of sold really well even if all they did was repackage the mod and sell it at the end of 2012. Instead, they had a small team develop it over an extra year, whilst generating no revenue, then decided to release as early access alpha only when they deemed it to be in a stable enough state. No publishers, no marketing. None of that suggests to me that DayZ is a cash grab without clear direction - in fact, it seems quite literally, the opposite. It tells me the developers want to make a fantastic game above all else. That's my assumption, as was OP's post just an assumption. I'll save this thread and we'll see who right or wrong is in a years time. -
DayZ is NOT fun for new players, which makes me worried.

I disagree that DayZ not fun for new players - when I was new I had loads of fun, as did many others. It's not an accessible game for sure, but it rewards knowledge of the game and doesn't give out prizes for taking part. But that's what's so great about it and what makes it stand apart from the majority of big games on the market.
