This is true. May not max it out however the other options limit the frame-buffer usage. "Video MemoryIf you have a graphics card with 512MB of memory you can set this to high, if you have more you might gain some FPS by setting this to default as it is supposed to use more VRAM then. The biggest change this setting has is on the textures so if you have a card with more than 512mb VRAM you won't see a big improvement, you might gain a little fps if you have the setting on default but it won't be a major change from Very High."

BULLET POINTS! I would try some other servers, see how much your frames vary from mod to mod and box to box. I wouldn't worry about Arma "not liking" your GTX 780. The numbers you posted are par for the course for cherno.

Arma rapes all of your components if you have one weak link it brings down the whole house of cards. Slow HD perhaps? Who knows. A few caveats, one lingor is a fairly laggy map and two CCG is overpoch which is epoch and basically epoch is the laggiest mod out there, tie that with a full server and this could replicate the issues you speak of.

Can't say I agree mate. Be more careful next time.

Just find or purchase and empty server. Problem solved! Edit-Noticed Razor beat me to it. SHYTE!

Should Tents be tied to a particular server or not?
Baker. replied to trev186's topic in General Discussion
There would be tents everywhere. You wouldn't be able to see the trees for the tents. Think of the logistics man. -
Try forcing it to another resolution say 1280x720 then changing back to the desired one (in the ingame settings)

I have problems with FPS and frankly i don't think i should.
Baker. replied to Lemaitre's topic in Troubleshooting
It is supposed to. -
I would bet dollars to donuts its an issue related to graphics switching. There is an option in the control to "always use discrete graphics". May help if this reoccurs

Note my sig. and i have problems too brother. Its based on the Take on Helicopters engine which is, for all intensive purposes, Arma 2+ so basically single threaded. I believe technically its dual threaded but there are issues with the scheduling. -
I think i would have received this better if it didn't appear as though he was drastically younger than the narrator and the people he was playing with. Without making any judgments, on its surface this just seems like a bunch of older guys being really mean to a kid who is just trying to fit in.

I like vegas, but the others have their merits as well. Hopefully this doesn't turn into a flame war  *knocks wood* I had used Sony Acid previously for sound work and found the migration to Vegas very painless since i knew the interface well from my Acid days .

Some Constructive Criticism about developemental direction: (WARNING! LONG POST!)
Baker. replied to crazykage's topic in General Discussion
The beauty of it all is that the lot of us are merely speculating and defending these speculations like they are truth. In reality the game may be shit and die on the vine, or it may become the greatest software title of our generation. Since neither of those things has happened yet we are left to yammer at each on on hypothetical and postulated "maybe's". Here's hoping the game turns out great so I have something to play, and here's hoping it doesn't so my suspicions were justified. Win/WIn Lose/Lose. -

Good points. Comes across as thoughtful and reasoned. Cheers my good man. Most people just scream "ERMAGERD ITS IN ALPHER! NOOB WHY YOU DISSENT?". Honestly its good that they have fans like you. But remember the bigger studios are eyeing this market. And it would be foolish to say people will stick around if a better product rears its head. But it doesn't matter anyways to BIS since they made a metric shit-tonne of cash already. Goodwill is a thing. It's a metric by which the value of a company or product is calculated, and they abused that for myself and many others. The people above who treat my opinions(which echo the opinions of many others) like an attack on their mother seem to have more faith in the leadership of this dev team than I do. -

Conceptualizing what exactly? The map? The Engine? The game mechanics? I'm fairly certain all those things were already "conceptualized". Btw when you have a spare minute I have a bridge to sell you -

How do I enter the alternate dimension you live in? Where those things you say are true? And as far as "understanding" goes i said the development priorities are confusing, not saying they are confusing them. Please read the posts more carefully. -

The development of this game is slow and unproductive, if you accept that you are welcome to do so. But lets call a spade a spade. And loot if respawning two years into development is a major milestone to you than brother i wish you were my boss, i could get away with anything. -

This is what people do when aren't pushed. They do busy work to appear like they are contributing. I've been management long enough to recognize when people are being "busy" instead of "effective". And for me its not that features are missing in the alpha. Its the overall lethargy in the development cycle. Again fanboi nonsense
