Gateway desktop DX4860 - Can it run dayZ?

For those of you that have lost faith in DayZ...
Baker. replied to pabloottawa's topic in General Discussion
Play this with script errors enabled. Must have been just easier to rename all their functions identically to the dayz mod functions. Ya know since they wrote it from scratch and all. Also you do know Overwatch is just dayz with some gun and sounds packs from armaholic thrown in with 4 hours of map work? Right? we are all talking about the same overwatch right? -
*hugs*

Yes. Turn off AA and PP, lower object detail and play with your shadow settings.

DayZ being able to use rope as a way of handcuffing.
Baker. replied to OptimumVision's topic in Suggestions
Could it be? Has no one suggested this yet? Is it that thing we all assumed was being done but no one said anything? Like when you find out something new way later than everybody else and they say "oh i thought you knew?" and you're all "NO!" -
I like this idea, would be nice if it wasn't just 11 metal lathes in there like a real machine shop lol.

Since we can already force feed disinfectant. I suggest force feed spray paint etc. In real life people abuse these products to produce a high of sorts so I thought it could contribute to the handcuff/bag over head mechanic. When robbing someone you could force feed them inhalants and they would be disoriented for a period of time after the robbery. *oh lord please don't let this spiral into a chasm of flame.*

I'm sure hacking a large priority for the dev's. But bare in mind its a shared responsibility with Battleye. A lot of people seem to shit on battleye as if they dont care but I feel that is most likely inaccurate. A company that provides nothing but anti cheat software is surely spending all their resources to combat cheats, its not like they have another revenue stream to fall back on. It is however a cat and mouse game, one that the mod has never been able to combat properly without antihack software and active admins. I imagine something like Chris's antihack will be a necessary part of the final release. The ability to spectate being the most important tool.

So I've spent the last few weeks heavily reading the forums again..... Does anyone else find the prevalence of "i got banned for no reason I no hax!" threads are balanced only by the "BE does nothing screw you BI and BE!!!!!!!" threads? It confuses me as it seems there are as many threads about hackers getting banned as there is about hackers never ever getting caught. Is it that we will just never be happy? Are we so juvenile that these forums have become a place to vomit every little thing that annoys us about anything that starts with a "d" and ends with a "z"? Just something I noticed.

I don't hold any resentment for being removed from the group (other than the sheer level of childishness to how/why it was done) if I was asked to rejoin, I wouldn't. Wot?

No I don't think I do, as I didn't make any judgements one way or the other. The OP implores you to form your own opinion not make a judgement one way or the other on my motives for posting or my understanding of the state of hacking in DayZ. Yes they are, their copy is null and void. All BI products under that account are null and void. Of course they can buy a new copy. Outside of RFID chips implanted at the time of purchase allowing them to buy a new copy is unavoidable. By this logic, crimes are committed because all sentences are not life sentences, diseases exist because medicine does not instantly eradicate a virus from all hosts and carriers the second it touches the first cell. By this logic hackers are buying dayz accounts by the hundreds! I will restate your point so I am clear: DayZ hacking is out of control because hackers get banned and have to buy new copies.

This may be a different issue than the one I'm describing

In the mod the zombies aren't "real", their AI and presence is triggered by the players proximity to certain objects then spawned off the client and so forth. It's one of the reasons DayZ Mod is so CPU intensive, In the standalone these units are spawned by the server. Therefore there existence is is unrelated to whether a player is in the are or not. In the mod if you d/c or move outside of a certain range the zombies disappear (extended range of a client from an AI unit causes d-sync), not so in the SA they are there or not there regardless. For the OP if someone has already killed the Zeds in the area he is presently in then we he gets there it will appear barren. Were it the mod they just keep re spawning. Hope this makes sense.

In the mod they spawn as an agent of the client, in the SA they spawn with the server, for the most part if they get killed they are then gone from that area. They are out there.......
