  1. DayZ commander has been depreciated. Try DayZ Launcher or download the mods manually. This forum only deals with DayZ Mod and DayZ Standalone. You may wish to look elsewhere for further help as most people here go mental over posts like these ;)

    Cursor/mouse not working Windows 10

Hey buddy, I had various mouse related issues after the upgrade. If it is a gaming mouse try reinstalling the drivers direct from the a manufacturers website(worked for my Logitech). you can also try going into your device manager, find your input device, and update the driver via windows update(worked for my trackpad).

    Survey: Worst part of DayZ?

I am in no way shape or form content with the project. That's why I'm super excited you showed up here. Finally someone who can fix this mess! Please, in point form, tell us and the dev team what parts of the project you feel they are under-performing in and how they need to fix it. Perhaps start by suggesting how you would optimize the rendering code (github links only I'm sorry :( ), later you can give us/them whatever specific network optimizations you feel need to be implemented (again the more raw source you can provide here the better) and finally muti-scheduling: those of us who own AMD CPU's have been waiting patiently for someone like you to come alone and give these yo-yo's a simple and easy fix to get this sucker to run at at least 4 cores. Also if these feeble minded developers cannot wrap their brains around how to implement your brilliance, would it possible for you to outline for us (again in point form) where to source competent software developers? What would be most helpful for project leaders is if you could outline what specific qualifications and skill sets their potential candidates should posses. And then once we/they have your approved developers how do we/they correctly manage our/thier resources? I sincerely await your response, and I hope the devs are watching cause they need you. Thank you so much   This guy seems tuned in, can you say "Associate Producer"?

Take on helicopters Bare in mind all the things they didn't have to do that are essential to the games mechanics.

    STEALTH COMBAT GUIDE!

Good effort man. Don't let the trolls get you down.
  7. Do you have the .net installed? Is your firewall blocking it?

    No more vanilla mod servers?

What is your ingame name? I may have heard something about this and may be able to offer assistance.

He is referring to the DayZ mod obviously. caboose
  10. That's incredible. You doubled down. Digital Rights Management is somehow the key to your ambiguous and incoherent use of generic computing terms? I would be getting frustrated if it didn't remind of this boss daft punk song.

    Everything and nothing,
  12. You will need to structure your sentences properly if I am to address your post. Also if you could elaborate on "code" and "source engine", perhaps just your own personal definitions of these terms? I always thought "engines" were written in "code", and "source" was uncompiled "code". Valve has an "engine" called the "source engine" but it appears as though you aren't referring to that one. So long story short this reads like strongly contrived double speak.
  13. I am aware of all this. That wasn't really the question. It was more in the vein of questioning their division of what could be shared resources, be it personnel, assets etc.

    DayZ on consoles

I agree with caboose here^, it has been tried before to cross platform multiplayer services and it was a disaster. The difference of input methods proved itself to be a large handicap for console gamers. In addition the closed nature of console gaming brings hacking down to a level of insignificance.
  15. I don't get people telling the dev team to "Just use UE4" I'm sure there is a desire to develop their own IP. Why would they abandon their own work after so many years when it is clear they have the ability to refine these technologies to a workable level. The engines BIS use suit their purposes, you would be hard pressed to find a modern game that rivals the scope and scale of even Arma 2 let alone their more modern titles so I can imagine that there are elements of these engines that excel beyond what UE4 can offer, even if its only for "under the hood" mechanics. But, from the outside looking in it appears that there is minimal inter project reciprocity. Most of BIS's games (to the end user at least) appear to use the same game-play dynamics and demand the same optimizations. So why have different groups of engine coders? What does the Arma 3 engine lack that we need to develop this "Enfusion" engine. Is it less work to re-code those parts of the TOC engine that we find undesirable than to port the DayZ assets to the older brother of the engine the game was originally coded for? Pwnoz0r ported the original mod to the Arma 3 engine and it ran nearly as well as the mod and looked wonderful. Is BIS like so many companies out there and their corporate culture is to blame? Is it ruled by rival chiefs and factions that covet and resent each other? Is it watermarked with rash decisions made by leaders with misplaced authority? Or is there something I'm missing?
  16. Agree with 99% of this^ But I felt klesh asked a fair question in a respectful manner. Is there a chance that you or another member of the team could address his concerns. To everybody else: For those of you that don't know him, Klesh is the quintessential player. One of the guys who I always felt "gets it" when it comes to what DayZ is all about. And it looks like we may be on the road to loosing him, and that would dishearten me with the project more than anything I can think of. Watch this: EDIT I don't care Klesh, I love your cherno journo. Zero fux.

possible solution to server hopping for loot?

There isn't much point in going back and forth on this. We fundamentally disagree
  20. Baker.

possible solution to server hopping for loot?

Yeah you think its a great idea because it solves something you consider to be a pet peeve. Doesn't make it a good idea. It causes more problems than it sovles
  21. Baker.

possible solution to server hopping for loot?

These ideas will never work. Too many times you join a server and the ping is shit, or your friends want to play on a high pop one for a bit, or the server goes down etc etc etc. The answer is find a reliable private shard end of story.
  22. Interesting, how did you clever fellows manage that?
  23. Just curious how you achieve the "+loot"?

Will DayZ ever come to Mac?

This is the key. Like PC's not all macs are created equal.
