Database: Install and setup mysql https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/ensure it uses 3306 as its connection port Download and install HediSQL http://www.heidisql.com/installers/HeidiSQL_9.3.0.4984_Setup.exethen connect to your server with the credentials used in the mysql setup Create a database called hivemind. Connect to hivemind. Run the SQL's included in the server package on your new hivemind database. (this will create the database for you) http://se1.dayz.nu/latest/1.8.6/SQL%201.8.6.rar Server Installation: Copy the addons folder from C:/your arma 2 installation folder/ to C:/your arma 2 oa installation folder/ (there are other ways to do this but this is the easiest) Download and install(extract to) your client files (http://se1.dayz.nu/latest/1.8.6.1/@Client-V1.8.6.1-Full.rar) in C:/your arma 2 oa installation folder/ Download and install(extract to) your server files (http://se1.dayz.nu/latest/1.8.6.1/@Server-V1.8.6.1-Full.rar) in C:/your arma 2 oa installation folder/ Copy the items inside the "keys" folder located in the server package/files to C:/your arma 2 oa installation folder/keys and C:/your arma 2 oa installation folder/expansion/keys Copy the items inside the https://github.com/DayZMod/Battleye-Filtersto C:/your arma 2 oa installation folder/cfgdayz/BattlEye Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 x86 Redistributable http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328 Server setup. Very basic just enough to get it running and connectable to add custom stuff you will need more config edits: Enter C:\your arma oa installaton folder\cfgdayz and edit HiveExt.ini in the section that says: navigate to C:\your arma oa installaton folder\cfgdayz and open server.cfg in the file navigate to: and change to what is between it and "//voting" to so it looks like Then in the install directory (C:/your arma 2 oa installation folder/) create a new .txt document. in the document add the following: save the file as restarter.txt , once completed rename the extension to .bat leaving you with a file called "restarter.bat" Double click the restarter.bat, the server should start and restart every 6 hours. But don't close the terminal window it is counting down for you. Enjoy. You will need unblock tcp/udp ports for 2302 if you haven't already and/or forward them if you are behind a router. I am doing this all from memory so if you hit any snags let me know i may have left something out.

Thats not a bad little machine at all, the cpu may be starting to show its age though.

Try these things if you aren't already. Turn off Post processing Turn AA to low Make sure your resolution is set to 1920x1080 with resolution scale set to 100% try moving object detail to "normal" Make sure your system is in high performance power mode. After this check your cpu and gpu temps under load. Perhaps a heatsink is loose or something

That will run DayZ like a top my friend ;) Power supply seem a little on the weak side but should be fine lest you start overclocking.
-
Switched out the SSD for a decent mechanical drive. 632 euros. You can always add a cheap ssd later, for FPS its the least important variable. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/KLH6zy This machine will run DayZ as good or better than 90% of the folks out there

Been following this project for a long time. Wonder if any others have heard of it? It aims to build an operating system that has binary compatibility with winnt api's. Very interesting.. https://www.reactos.org/
-
Cheap as i can get it without sacrificing a lot of performance. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/Jpg8Bm Were it I? I would get a cheaper case.....

k one sec

double your ram, go with 1 8gb stick. and the liquid cooler wont help much since its not a "k" model of processor ie you cant overclock it other than messing with with the fsb. Sound card is kind of a waste since it has onboard which most people are usually quite happy with, the ssd is way to small 30gb isn't good for anything really. Cleaned it up a bit http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/vbtwQ7

In my opinion not really, usb 3 only benefits with storage (like usb flash drives or ext HDD's), having them in the front is convenient but that's about it I think. worse case you have to reach in the back to plug in your SS flash drive. My opinon anyways, i have usb 3.0 and i use it about as much freethink uses his DVD rom.
-
Oh for sure, but i wanted to keep it withing the budget in the op, and to add an ssd would pull from somewhere else. That was the cheapest i5 and the cheapest 750ti, the only SSD's in the price range were really low capacity. and the dvd drive was 9 euros! come on! lol
-
To hell with it, i did it anyways! Boom! Same price. Operating system, gaming keyboard mouse, 23" monitor! i5! 750ti! BAAAAAAAM! http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/KT6YGX I went by the price of the computer in the op for budget.

Tips! Do not go with an AMD apu, limits you to the apu socket (FM+ or whatever) If you only have two slots for ram buy 1 large stick instead of two smaller ones. (allows you to add another later) Make sure your power supply is AT LEAST bronze certified. Make sure the case you buy can physically fit the video card you are buying. Get the highest end motherboard chipset you can afford. Honestly if you find the selection process intimidating, give me your budget, the systems primary and secondary intended uses and ill pick out the parts for you. It gives me wood.

Is it worth buying Dayz standalone yet? [With Developer responses]

Ruling: Experimental is currently fun as shit. Loot is fairly balanced, performance is fairly good. Overall its pretty solid now. Needs more zombies and animals but it is a WIP after all. -
You will be using this machine for presumably years, just my advice. best deal i can find http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883230032 Second Best: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227598R other options http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227537 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227630 APU Based Builds (you seem to like those ;) ) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220714 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220714

It seems like a hassle but call them man, cancel this order. that machine is going to screw you. first you are going to be tied to the apu socket meaning you can only install apus on your board when you go to upgrade plus you dont have a dedicated graphics option out of the gate. Call get them to reverse it. we can get you something better.
-
another huge issue was the processor, the game is really cpu intensive and AMD APU's are really weak brother
-
the second one was a whole pc for the same price and twice the machine as the one you posted. http://www.newegg.co...N82E16883230032 :(
-
to repeat, please do not buy the first. If anything buy the second. Best option is to build your own. But for gods sake dont buy any of the computers you posted.
-
this is how that runs^^^^ not great by any stretch. you should really build your own, but in case you are intimidated by that here is a MUCH better solution for roughly the same price. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883230032 and honestly it will run even better than the video below due to the much much much superior processor https://youtu.be/iKssWgUKx_w
