That looks great! Keep moving west folks, move along nothing to see here.

I thought it was just the military tents that got moved.. Is this on experimental?
-
I love seeing these kinds of systems implemented, and to be honest I dont see how people can think its unbalanced, it seems relatively easy to adjust to.
-
Yes you get two characters. One for each mode.

whelp, looks like the glitchiest patch yet :S
JPWiser replied to hellzbro's topic in General Discussion
Have played a good 15+hours on .49 now, and have not experienced anything youve mentioned, other than one time having my leg break in a firehall stairwell. (And Im pretty sure that was .48 to be honest) This patch has been smooth sailing on my end thus far, other than my server seemingly having issues since the patch. -
Is that a huffy?

Servers restarting far too often.. sometimes 2-3 times in an hour ?
JPWiser replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
Have always had an issue with how often servers reset. Even before. 49... Now with additional crashes from the new build it gets pretty frustrating at times.. -
Can be easily deterred by a cumulative timer.
-
Rains inside? Haven't had that happen in any building I've taken shelter in. Great work imo, the whole patch is a great step in the right direction.

Ran into about 25 zeds I've killed and almost every one only took one swing of an axe. Have also looked zeds in or out of houses however it's still glitchy and in some cases get through a closed door, still a vast improvement from a month ago.

I've noticed the closer the shot is the harder or less likely it is you'll hear the sound...

The War on Wilderness - Reclaiming Myshkino
JPWiser replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
Or embrace it, I think with all the possible loot locations with higher pop Counts on servers it's going to get cray cray anywhere you go. I'm kind of indifferent about this issue... -
How does one "opt in" for persistent loot on their server?

I lit a whole box, it was quite the ceremony. Glad I can finally be resurrected today. -
Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't... still working out kinks in the Nav mesh I assume...

For those of you that have lost faith in DayZ...
JPWiser replied to pabloottawa's topic in General Discussion
I don't understand the parallel of the example given. If anything that makes me lose more faith knowing that the worst can happen as you've pointed out. Not saying by any means I've even lost faith but just trying to grasp why you compare a failed scam project that went nowhere to dayz and tell people not to worry. -
Random wipes are one thing. Announcing a wipe is also one thing. Perfectly acceptable in alpha and beta never said wipes were a problem, in fact we welcome them. However anytime a wipe is announced, my group and I will get our fun out of what we have, go play kamikaze style until we are taken out, and wait for the wipe and start again. Cause like I said on a general basis we do not play kamikaze looking for fights. So when delays happen and 3+ weeks go by we obviously get bored of waiting so we play other games. Has nothing to do with gearing up, nothing to do with being attached to gear, and has nothing to do with being worried about losing a character. We were waiting for the "hotfix" that was originally supposed to come out to fix persistent stuff on stable. Well after a couple weeks they then said it will be fixed with. 49 along with a stable branch wipe. we were like okay I guess we'll just keep waiting it should be next week or the week after. Well it's been alot of weeks now. If we knew it was going to be a couple months from the time tents were released we may have not stopped playing, at least wouldn't have gone out In a blaze of glory so soon. Like I said our fault for assuming the wipe was going to be within a reasonable amount of time. But we did and just feel like we're in this limbo waiting for the update. We're not mad, not upset, just bored of waiting and have moved on to a different game for awhile as clearly there has been speedbumps in the original plan. You guys can't tell me that many many people have not done the same. We're just waiting it out, but the longer it goes the less we really care and the more we become invested in other entertainment. My dota skills were lacking anyway I needed the refresher.

My friends and I have this issue as well, we can join 5 servers in a row and log a total of 10 minutes of playtime and about 15 minutes of waiting time ... Server reset timers should be 4 hrs minimum... Some of them seem to restart every hour or less

Alot of people do not see the point in surviving only to be wiped. Most of my friends quit a month ago when they prematurely announced the wipe. Guess it was our fault assuming this wipe was gonna happen a month ago. Now it's been so long were just having fun playing other games probably won't be back to dayz for quite awhile. Canceled our server subscription for now. We don't play to die and investing any time in that survival seems fruitless if you're going to lose it at some unknown point in the future. I get that some of you who say just play and embrace the wipe might not understand our playstyle, but dayz to us isn't fun knowing your stuff is for surely being deleted at some point. Leaves the question of... What's the point we may as well wait.

I'll believe it when I see it lol...

Drives me nuts when I can avoid 2 guys spewing round after round from their mosins out in a field at my group, only for a zombie to agro us flanking in the treeline and not them over 10 shots later. I think for the relative short term for balance sake they just aren't putting a focus on ENCOURAGING that style of gameplay AT THE MOMENT. No where did they say they are going to nerf sniping forever or anything like that, but with the environment and gameplay issues at the moment sniping has a huge advantage as you can't hear sounds properly at all and zombies are still whacked. I agree sniping should be a cool part of this game and realistic, however before we focus on that how about we at least make it fairish. If I cannot tell where a shot is coming from (or even hear the shot at all for the most part) and zombies attack me in the woods before someone firing off multiple sniper rounds nearby, I'm glad it's a little more difficult than what is probably realistic.
