You know you are playing too much DayZ when...

* When you see a broken down car on the side of the road and think to yourself... "dam, wish i had a tire" -
With all my guns and backpacks I put the old ones on the ground first, equip the new one, then loot the stuff out of your old backpack or grab your old mags off the ground.
-
You said it before and again in this post. Your wording makes it sounds as if you want 1 new building for the whole map, however creating 1 new STYLE of building and placing 30 of them around the map is a differant story.
-
I dont either... middle of the day running on concrete?
-
Huh?
-
Yeah I getcha, maybe in the stand alone there can be more "classes" of items.
-
No but the more silly things like not being able to put a map or box of matches in a giant hole in the ground take away from the games integrity.
-
Is there a way to identify what zeds are "viral"? The only way i can tell so far is if i have to shoot it like 5 times with a stanag round to kill it.
-
No matter what specific item you need (Tire, toolbox, jerrycan, Rotor Assembly) DayZ shall force you to search every industrial area on the map before you find it, Making sure to spawn multiples of every piece you already have....

I'm going to go ahead and say this and just hope that I'm right...

To Everyone Complaining About 1.7.7

There is no way you can convince me that someone who doesn't know or care two shits about you, is LESS likely to kill you when loot is invaluably scarce. Especially when talking about basics like food and antibiotics. Picture this scenario, you meet some guy on a server, team up and go looting. You come across a couple boxes of antibiotics. Is the guy more likely to stab you in the back for them if the loot is more or less common? "Cooperation is better on low loot servers".... left me scratching my head that's for sure. Pre-1.7.7 I would gladly stop and pick up some random guy on the road that needs a ride, or toss a new spawner a can of food and a water bottle, or answer someones call for help in side chat that needs a blood transfusion. Post-1.7.7 I kill people on site and horde all the shit I can get, cause spending hours and hours going through empty buildings crawling on my belly risking a 1 hit wonder zed is not worth the time nor risk\reward. Your theories of "less resources promote better cooperation" only work if there is actually enough resources to satisfy the whole. If not then only the strongest survive. And based on what I have seen and read there definitely is not enough to go around. -

Tents cure infection? Rested at mine oh... I think I lost count around 30 times before my blood got so low I ditched all my gear in the tent and got as far away from it as possible before I died. I also failed to mention I spent about 10+ hours looting in complete stealth mode until one zed finally managed to agro me through the wall in the NWAF barracks when I was crouch walking, took one swipe and managed to break my leg, make me bleed and infected me with one hit that I didn't even see coming. Luckily I had morphine and bandages on me, and I would have been completely okay with the "one hit wonder" zed if it weren't for the terrible mechanics behind me getting hit. If I didn't have to wait outside every lootable building now while the endless train of zeds paths in and out of it, if antibiotics were even remotely reasonable to find, if the zeds didn't magically see me from the outside of a building when Im behind a concrete wall, and so on. People have said it over and over, too much all at once. The game could have easily introduced the new harder to deal with zeds without making antibiotics hard, sorry not hard, near impossible, to find. Or even make it so tents actually have a reasonable chance to cure your infection, considering tents are just as hard to find as antibiotics. Would the game be that much easier if loot was somewhat like it used to be? In 1.7.6 I could still go through a couple towns worth of residential loots and not see any antibiotics or a tent. And lets be honest you don't have a lot of time once infected to make something happen or your vision becomes blurred and your done. Harder zombies? Great. One hit and you die unless you quickly find a cure or a tent to rest in? Awesome. Zeds when agro'd are extremely hard to ditch? Perfect. That all sounds fantastic however taking away almost all chances of finding any sort of cure is absurd. If the zombies act like they do, then antibiotics are still going to be in such a high demand, even with the old loot system will still be extremely rare. -
Gilli suits never worked with female skins properly if i recall... I was warned never to use a female.... And I love all the people who trash talk people who understand the difference between UNREALISTIC and HARDER. I am pretty sure 99% of the people who didnt like the patch due to its ridiculous unrealistic characteristics that result in the game being more challenging, would WELCOME more challenge if it made sense. But many characteristics of the patch just didnt make sense and make the game just silly instead of harder. All points have been stated in this thread already but just sick of the "oh great you listened to the carebears" posts. Great job DEV team in reacting, only a couple more hotfix's and the game should be in good shape.

It is much worse than usual.... And on top of the zeds forced pathing into buildings, any form of stealth looting becomes insanely boring and a waste of time... All I can see as a solution is to "smash and grab" loot sites which is the opposite of the game I became to enjoy.
-
Just dont see how forcing them to path that way makes the game better? Before you would see a random one in the grocery store, or one would path inside and down the aisle... But it was random... This new way takes away a huge aspect of the fun imo...
-
And attract the other 10-15 zeds in the surrounding area and\or give away my position to nearby players?? I originally enjoyed the game because it wasnt a game of killing zombies, it was a game of avoiding them at all costs...

Still have an issue with Zeds spawning and immedietely all trained to walk into the building you came close to that spawned them. Devils Castle, HV Military again, just sat there for like 10 minutes while 10 zeds spawned, slowly walked up to the stairs, every single one of them pathed all the way up, then all the way down, on top of it one was just sitting on the stairs and never moved itself. I finally gave up and moved on. Headed to NW airfield and crept up on the North Barracks. All the doors were closed clearly no one had been there yet. As a test I opened the first front door, ran back over to the trees and watched zed after zed slowly walk straight to the barracks, down the hall and back, over and over.... Two of them got stuck even and made me wait even longer... It took 15 minutes of me sitting in one spot before I could even fathom entering the building.... Seems like a retarted time suck if thats how its intented to be, instead of sneaking in and around zombies to duck inside a building for a moment of semi-safety, you now get to sit there and do nothing for 15minutes waiting for the pathing and spawning to end... Whats the point of sneaking around if zombies are going to have fixed pathing like that after spawning??

Thx Razor sorry if i was late on the response just got home from camping ;)

My problem is this... At the Northern Military barracks in the NW airfield, Its the middle of the night, I sneak in completely undetected, sitting at the end of the hallway completely still, and watch as at least 10+ Zeds just continue to spawn and "randomly" make their way to the building, walk right in the front door and down the hall right at me. This happened within 30-45 seconds of me entering the barracks. Im at Devils Castle, checking out the new HV Military, Again, sneak in completely undetected in the dark, walk up the stairs into the tower, stand there for 15-20 seconds, and watch out the door as 5+ zeds make their way to the stairs and start coming up at me like they had seen me all along. No way ANY zeds saw me on either occasion, but "randomly" come straight at me. Whats the point of sneaking around taking substantially more time to get anywhere if in the end they still have some magical tractor beam on you when you enter a spawnable area???
