My friends and I used ventrllo for the last 15 years of gaming, however switched to skype this year and to be honest I dont know why. Skype blows, uses more memory and is by far more glitchy than any others. I also used TS when I played EQ and was very similar to vent.

Nice to have it for the binocular aspect. And since I had both scopes thought I could leave the LRS on to spot, then swap the PU for the kill.

I get that but I still dont see how if he is dead that makes a difference. How can he die, reset the server, come back and kill you? Its just not possible.

It isnt legal to reset the server upon a death to save face or prevent your gear from being looted, its in the TOS right along with you being able to kick anyone for being abusive or anything of the innapropriate nature. However you lost me about the "take it back 30 seconds part" that doesnt make sense.

Very slim chance that happened, I stood in the same area afterwords for at least a few minutes. And I put the attachment on my gun which replaced my PU scope (which was placed in my backpack after the switch)

Late response on this but youre right I didnt know that until it was too late because every other attachment that doesnt go on a certain weapon will not let you try and attach it only for it to dissapear. The thread was to inform people of this glitch as I didnt see anything about it on the search function,

Id be a touch more concerned if there was more to do than loot a mosin, an attachment, clothes and food. I mean without tents even server hoppers dont mean a shit at the moment cause no one can really horde loot. Once vehicles and tents are involved that changes things a bit as I would hate to spend hours or days fixin up a vehicle when someone can just chain restart their server and get what he needs that way. I think its a valid concern however cannot be an important issue at the moment when there is hacking and gameplay issues still to be dealt with. Also getting upset that it is currently a gamebreaking issue that some people are able to loot faster seems like a drastic reaction, considering I can join a low pop server and run around for an hour or two and have almost everything the game can offer me at the moment. Meh, bigger fish to fry at the moment IMO.

I just lost my LRS by putting it on my SKS not realizing it doesnt work and it poofed. Bye bye.....

Is it just me or is bleeding not working right now? Ive taken multiple zombie hits and never bleed anymore. On top of it I shot someone in the chest and leg with an m4 from 150 meters and he wasnt bleeding just blurry. I would check the bug page if i didnt have to remove my account from the insane spam I was gettin awhile back.

Just had an interesting night rockin some dayz, figured I would share. Me and my group of 4 buddies decided to check out the new patch and put in a good session last night. Me and one friend were located at the NWAF, our other buddies were making the run from Berezino to meet us there. While I was waiting I was goin through the jails and barracks to see what was left over, and I happened to be at the south west side of the airfield about to head inside the jail only to hear a mosin shot pop off. I ducked into the trees and repositioned myself to try and get a clear view of the shooter. As I did this I heard a couple more mosin shots followed up by a pistol unloading a clip. Although I could not see the shooter first hand I was almost posative it was coming from the fire hall or control tower, I waited for my buddy to work his way around to meet up with me while we moved into position. Sure as shit there was someone up in the control tower almost seemingly dancing around the top. We continued to keep eyes on him as we attempted to make our way across the open field without giving ourselves away. We had made it about a third of the way when we saw him run from the tower and down the runway toward the north barracks. He clearly had no idea we were there so we a little more hastily made a sprint across the field to get in behind him. Once I made the treeline on the other side of the runway I sprinted ahead while my buddy took position with his SKS to keep eyes on him. He had now made it to the very last hangar on the north side and ducked inside for a moment. With the front locked down I made my way around back up to the last corner behind the hangars with full view of the jail. My buddy yells out hes on the move and he walked right into my sights that were on the jail door. I took two M4 shots and yelled on the mic for him to get down on the ground, however he ran right into the jail. My sks friend took position on the other side of the door, and thats when we heard the plea of mercey come from inside. Come out with your hands up, like an oldschool western movie, He came out with his hands held high, fully geared with an sks of his own, you could tell he was hurting. What happens next is what made me write this long (potentially boring) story. We held him up there while we waited for our backup to arrive (just made the airfield from berezino) and once they did started chatting with our prisoner. Turns out he was a lone wolf player from Illinois. He never played the mod but was really loving the SA and was looking forward to seeing a lot of the content my group was as well. After a few more minutes of chatting I said on skype to the group, "So what now? Want to take his blood? Or just send him on his way?" Well we went out on a limb instead and asked him to join our band of survivors as there is strength in numbers. Considering how hard it is in DayZ to trust anyone or even get close enough to someone to chat with them like we did. And (I guess he didnt have much choice with 4 rifles drawn on him) he said yeah that would be cool. Hopped on skype with us and everything. Great! Now here is the funny part, we traveled down from the airfield to Vybor, looted some, then headed to the military base south and east of there. After that we decided to setup as a group of 5 and takedown some people at the airfield on a full server. Hopped to a 40 man server and ran back to the airfield, we proceeded with caution only to have our new found friend take up a position in the control tower once again. And before you know it, BAM. He "DayZ's" off the ladder and plummets to his death lol. All that for nothing. Well I guess not nothing we have a new friend in the group who truly took one for the team. Thanks for your gear spaghetti, well get you back soon lol! There is hope yet people, power in numbers!!

So the idea is your gear will prevent you from bleeding up to a certain point? I figured the zombies causing bleeding had been reduced drastically but when I shot someone and for surely hit them (ruiened his vest and pants) without causing bleeding it seemed cause for alarm. Thanks, I should rephrase that "After my poor experience with the bug tracker, I refuse to open it" And after a forum search using keyword "Bleeding" with nothing coming up I figured it deserved a topic.

Just missing the fact that, yea, right now, as the game is, with zeds and features not working to even close to what they are going to be yes the game is somewhat as you describe as an open world fps. Wait until the game comes out in a couple years and try again, you wont even recognize it. I dont understand with all the information about what this game is now, compared to what it is going to be, how you can hate on it so much. That is where the shortcoming of your OP lies. You clearly show no open mindedness to what this could potentially be. Youve said you understand you bought a pre alpha so give it a rest and check it out again in awhile. You will be surprised.

Personally I like the mod zed sounds better... None of these sounds (so far im like 1:30 in) are hyper aggressive zed noises, and dont cause that panic and fear that the current ones do (when implemented properly which they are not yet)

oh and their blood, but have to be a little more crafty first.
