It's been a bit since I've played so I'm obviously not used to it. If this is the case, sorry for the post. Though strangely after I posted that my account was locked for 15 minutes. Is this happening for any of you?

I'd rather see slings go in more of a " Faster " Interaction kind of direction, Don't get me wrong, Your idea is cool, And I like it.. But Irl, I carry a rifle, and a back pack, at the same time.. With ease..
I don't think the carrying 3 rifles, option is the right direction to take, It more so encourages DM'ing. If it were the case, I'd have an M4, AKM/SKS and Mosin..- 1

These are my personal setting, And what's contained in the file. You have have to do some tinkering on your end to have them work with your game as you want it to. The second one is mostly stock with a few tweaks, but I've butchered the first one..

There should be a setting in your Pcnamehere.cfg or DAYZPROFILE File.
Open it, Hit Ctrl+F, Type Blood, Ensure the setting is Blood=1, if it's Blood=0, change the 0 to a 1. Save, Launch game, Get shot/eaten, see if you bleed.

I had this issue last night, In your " Documents " Folder you should have 3 text documents, DayZ.CFG, PCNAMEHERE.CFG, And PCNAMEHERE.VARS.
Make sure the PCNAMEHERE.cfg and DayZ.cfg are not set to read only, or editing them will cause it to revert when you close them game.

More or less what Gannon said.. People are free to play as they wish. Remember originally there were no " Hardcore " Servers? People complained got what they wanted, And it didn't turn out to be what they wanted, so people trickled back to 3pp servers. I personally love Hardcore servers, However most the people I play with dislike them...
It's all personal preference.. It's basically the same as me saying " L2p ply on 3pp $3rv3r$ nub. " -
There's an animation from pre-alpha footage, Where you hold your stomach and kind of hobble along, I'd love to see that implemented for chest/stomach shots, coupled with the breaking of legs, I think that'd make getting in a gun fight that much more dangerous..

Does anyone know if there is a plan to rework the damage values of the melee weapons? I fought a zombie for close to 5 minutes with a baseball bat. Seemed a little ridiculous.
It's been done on Exp, And the baseball bat is much more effective than that atm..

I tend to push a little more when I know they're using dodgy tactics, Ie looking through walls and such.. If they're willing to do that, they're willing to log out and hope you don't find them..

I doubt it'd work, Technical wise. The way things seem to work at the moment, is they're done by stages.. Ie Rope + Sack = Imp courier pack. Then you have, ICP + Sticks = Imp Backpack..
It's a cool idea, I just think it need to be approached a different way.. -

Wrong. I have punched many people out in a motorcycle helmet out....

I can 100% confirm that Motorbike helmets and Hard hats take around 40 or so punches before you can knock someone out.
EDIT : Or 3-4 baseball bat hits.

I agree. Melee weapons should be far, far more effective in CQC than bare fists. It is, after all, why they were invented in the first place!
I would like to see three different damage "types" present, each doing different "levels" of damage and with different effects.
-Bludgeon: fists, bat, wrench, hammer,axe etc. Do low (fists) to extremely high (hammer, sledge) impact damage, with the possibility of breaking bones and causing shock-knockouts as the damage goes higher, alongside internal bleeding. Very slow attack speed.
-Slash: slashing with knives. low damage, with superficial surface bleeding. Very high attack speed.
-Stab: Stabbing with knives, spears. High damage, with high chance of internal bleeding, but extremely hard to aim and attack is telegraphed a lot.. Medium attack speed.

Theoretically, You could be able to change the same way you change the fire mode on your rifle, I dislike how LITTLE damage the one handed bladed weapons do.. If you get stabbed in the chest/stomach, You're gonna have a BAD time.

I actually like my steak a bit burnt; charred even. I would likely get sick more from having it UNDER-cooked than OVER-cooked. There's just something about a crispy piece of meat with a fairly strong charcoal taste....mmmmmmm.
There is a difference between a Well-done and a Burnt to hell steak. ;)

Documents > DayZ > DayZ.cfg > Windowed = 0 . Set it to Windowed = 1, Once in-game you can hit Alt+Enter and it should run perfectly in full-screen. If it doesn't save the edited value, Right click the CFG file, And make sure it's not set to read only. Or, If it keeps changing it back, Set it to read only..

On a serious note - wouldn't this have more to do with the condition of the weapon itself rather than the ammunition? IDK, I'm no gun expert; but that just seems logical to me.
Yes and no, Badly damaged ammo can Expand in the chamber/Rupture, Or just go click.

Generally they have their own server message set to provide you with TS, It'll pop up in the bottom right when you join. However jumping in a random TS, Is about as safe as looking down your own barrel. They may claim to be friendly, Hell they may even be friendly. But if it's a public ts, used by random's, You're more than likely going to have a BAD time.
