    Anti Stab Vest

I haven't seen anything called a ballistic vest. There used to be Tactical Vests that spawned in military locations but I've yet to find one since January. I threw mine out since it was ruined but I wished I would have kept it.

    Anti Stab Vest

They are pretty uncommon, but it's only because they spawn in certain locations. I've found several of both without looking for them specifically. (Probably because I have 400 hours logged on DayZ.... :I )

Instead of spawning on the coast

I don't understand. If you've ever taken a video or seen a video of someone running from the northern debug zone to the southern coast in less than 10 minutes I would love it if you would link it. What I don't understand is what makes Electro and Cherno so special in kids' minds that they would make a beeline there from anywhere on the map. Those cities are deathtraps.

    Anti Stab Vest

The antistab and press vests are uncommon loot that can be found in train stations and shipwrecks. They can't be repaired.

    Anti Stab Vest

He covers that in the 3rd episode of the series of experiments towards the beginning of the episode. The anti-stab vest does not absorb as much damage as the press vest.

    Anti Stab Vest

Negative. Anti-Stab vests provide generally worse protection than the assault vests. go with one of those stupid-looking camo vests that carry stuff. A Youtube user Wobo made some experiments that explain the protective benefits of chest armor. It's a 3-piece series.

Instead of spawning on the coast

It would blow so many players' minds if for one week the coders set the spawn points to be the northern barrier instead of the southern coast. Those people who just spawned would just shut down and assume the fetal position. "What? Where's electro? how do I get to cherno? That's all I know how to do, I don't see balota anywhere!"

    Toggle Melee Attacks

Haha, those videos were pretty metal. I especially liked the part where the player kicked that oblivious enemy into the spikes. Now that would make for a great shoving attack- no matter what weapon you have out you can use a kick to shove or knock back things- when physics and ragdoll come out that would be a fantastic way to open a door to clear a room while you've got your gun raised. Kick that junk open and fire away. And I think the techniques you're talking about were also in the game Oblivion (Elder Scrolls?) if you charge an attack and move in a direction you perform different power attacks.

    Toggle Melee Attacks

I feel like the whomping-motion attack with the pitchfork would be a decent non-lethal blunt force alternative to the more-than-lethal puncture-wound inflicting stabbing attack that's due out. Again, it all just boils down to being able to toggle between swings. Also, Maybe with axes we could use horizontal swings to chop down trees for firewood and use vertical or diagonal swings to collect branches/sticks for splints/bows/impromptu backpacks? Again, maybe my thinking is a little too obtuse. Thoughts?

    Toggle Melee Attacks

Well, Players who are wearing helmets and some military zombies aren't affected by knockout punches as easily. I was thinking of more like pushing enemies away from you to either line up a shot or run away.

    Toggle Melee Attacks

I appreciate the beans y'all. I'm really excited to see the upcoming Less-than-Lethal weapons- maybe we'll get some knockout melee like cow prods and Tazers you can up the amperage on. It'd be cool to be able to toggle attacks when you're unarmed- I'd love to throw a side kick or some kind of grab attack, like you grab a zombie by the collar, turn, and then shove them and they knock back other zombies. Maybe that's a bit obtuse though.
  12. It would be nice if we could use the 'T' key (used to toggle between auto and select-fire with the M4 and twin barrel with the shotgun) to select what kind of attack you want to use. Toggle between the vertical, sweeping horizontal, or some sort of shoving animation that gets zombies off of you when they're too close (Or when you spot a little kid with a mosin on the cliffs of Svetlojarsk).

Someone can tell me why is that funny?

That kind of behavior can be expected from the children that were raised on games like CoD and Battlefield. Kids with no sense of permanence, you know? They just want to mess with people, die, re-gear, repeat. It's gross. This is supposed to be a survival game. I mean, obviously you have to use your noodle and consider that Electro or the other hot zones are just death-traps. There's not even going to be any loot there- all the beans were already eaten by kids who're already dead. PvP isn't necessarily a bad thing, though- it's what keeps people on edge and makes your heart race when you hear footsteps in a building where you're hiding. It's just bad when every person on a server has a KoS mentality. Personally, I'd prefer to be force-drunk bleach and released. That's the fun kind of PvP because you have the possibility to bounce back.
  14. I wanted to be a part of this thread, just because it's gotten so out of hand. I'm excited about the new patch- I'm not excited about the possibility of meeting all these impatient and ignorant children ranting on the forums inside Chernarus. (The constructive members are fine, keep up the informative posts.) The fireplaces look great and the physics engine is really exciting- Can you imagine how badass it would be to drag your buddy out of the line of fire by the shoulder of his shirt while he's spraying bullets to cover your retreat? Or you sneak up behind some little kid with a scoped mosin while he's prone on the cliffs of Svetlojarsk and you give him a little push?
  15. I feel guilt and fear because we both spent time building ourselves. One misstep and everything we've worked for is gone. Someone could have spent days surviving- even weeks. Everyone has a unique story. As for other games, I assume you mean games like CoD or Battlefield- in those games, you don't have to worry about whether your character is well fed, you don't have to provide the clothes on their backs, and if you die, you respawn with the same gear you started with.
  16. Killing people is not fine. Feeling guilty is human. Feeling fear is human. It is perfectly fine to protect yourself, but killing someone outright might not be the best answer. Did you even try to save him? I've found myself struggling with a lot of the choices I make in DayZ, It's the hours of work you've put into scratching together a meager existence only to have it threatened by someone who may or may not be a 12-year-old kid spoiled by games like CoD a bandit.
