    Pistol mags

Same. Kids probably have a hard time finding them because they're playing in 3rd person and the mags are too small for them to see over-the-shoulder.

Someone can tell me why is that funny?

Yeah, you're right. Laziness is a pretty big factor in that playstyle, but I think it's got a lot more to do with how kids have been brainwashed by overly-competitive Deathmatch games. Like, people my age grew up with the Halo series, CoD, and Battlefield wherein the only way to win was kill your opponent, steal their flag, blow up their whatever. Rarely is it ever "Meet someone, gain their trust, work together to survive as long as possible." I like that you said you felt guilty, That's a pretty human way to feel because you know he probably worked hard not only for his stuff, but also to keep himself alive. I'd much rather have an ally than a corpse and a shiny new gun or piece of equipment.
  3. Right, so, by the Topic title you can see this suggestion's more for the server admins than the devs. While we don't have global chat on SA servers, some of us DO have walkie-talkies. Therefore I propose that server admins might like to choose and pronounce what frequency to find global chat on their handsets in their welcome messages. "Welcome to our server, global chat is found on xx.xx." Thoughts?
  4. Mhmm, I read the wiki page before I made the post. I just thought it might be better for the admin to set the global chat to something other than the default so someone who's carrying a walkie doesn't have to listen to 'global chatter' by default. There's nothing necessarily wrong with it. some people feel like it breaks immersion, but honestly it doesn't. In a situation like this survivors are going to find a way to communicate.

    Toggle Melee Attacks

Right, so, I've been sifting through a couple threads and it seems like a lot of people are interested in seeing varied types of melee attacks. I like the idea of having to raise your melee weapon before you can swing it at a zombie or Small Child with a Scoped Mosin spoiled by CoD Bandit posted up on Svetlo's cliffs. But when you're indoors and get cornered by a zombie, an overhead swing might get caught by the ceiling or a nearby wall and that's way past uncool. So I propose that the 'T' button (Used to toggle the M4 into Select-Fire or Auto and the shotgun into twin-barrel modes) could maybe toggle our melee weapons to do say, a vertical overhead attack, to a sweeping horizontal swing, to maybe like a shoving motion that pushes enemies away (or off the aforementioned cliffs). Also, it would be really nice if the Combat Knife and M4 bayonet had stabbing attacks as alternatives to that silly looking chop.

    Toggle Melee Attacks

Another thing someone mentioned in a suggestions thread (I think) was grapple attacks. There're a lot of cool martial arts takedowns that are pretty easy to remember. grab-the-wrist, sweep-the-ankle, push-the-collar. I'd really REALLY love to see silent takedowns- can you imagine how bad ass it would be to creep out of the shadows and twist a zombie's neck? Or slip the tip of your knife or bayonet into the base of its skull? You could do all kinds of nasty shit to someone who has no idea you're there.
  7. Yeah, I gotta agree. There definitely needs to be some sort of aerial vehicle.

Someone can tell me why is that funny?

    1. No I don't. I don't carry food. I drink from streams/wells and eat all food I find on the spot. 2. No I won't. I don't care about what you have in your backpack. If I shoot you, it's because you shot at me and missed. 3. Sure you can do what you like. Just be prepared for the consequences. If you miss, you've just made yourself a target. Using a weak gun that takes more than half a dozen rounds to kill someone is a terrible idea. 4. The discussion isn't closed, but it seems you've said your piece. I won't try to change your mind, since the game needs aggressive players. I would suggest though, if your aim is to kill players with the guns you carry, carry something that's going to cause a little more damage. I've been hailed by M4 rounds and it just does not stack up to the other rifles I've carried. Barring the Sporter, of course.
  9. I'm glad you said that because I used to help administrate a server with a really strong community for a couple of months, and everyone was really cool. There were disagreements, but because we had spent so much time talking with each other and learning about each other we always stuck together when jackasses and PKers or cheaters came in and started wrecking camps or new-spawns, etc. It was really cool to be a part of that community.
  10. As long as the HiLux and some form of motorcycle make it in, I'm ecstatic- nothing was more thrilling for me than riding my happy ass off a cliff on a dirtbike and speeding out of control down a mountainside, dodging trees while listening to "kickstart my heart" on adderall.

Someone can tell me why is that funny?

@BMAF That is why I like to keep my exposure with other players particularly short and sweet. Be kind, but don't turn your back on a stranger, right?
  12. Well, I dunno about you but I certainly wouldn't rent a server just to play alone or with allies only. I like the threat of overly-aggressive CoD/BF children "veterans" lurkin' about. And you know, as many times as I've gotten that greeting you're talking about, I've never been kicked- do admins not have that power?

    OP Zombies

Hecks yeah, I'd be all-for zombies getting a damage increase. Bleeding chances should be reduced, like y'uns said, and I'd love to see some grapples- not just from zombies, but also from players. Maybe some silent takedowns for when you creep up on a zombie that hasn't detected you yet, like a quick jerk of the neck.
  14. Well see, there you go- less global than global chat, yet still a viable option to see if there are any friendlies before you charge headfirst into a town.

Someone can tell me why is that funny?

@BMAF Nah, there's no good or bad. Ethics and rules were thrown out the window when the shit hit the fan. It's up to you to make choices that dictate how you play. I've helped more people than I've killed, but man I've killed way more people than I wanted to. I've shot on sight a few times even. But I've always tried to save them once they're not a threat. (of course after the bandage is applied, that's when I slap the cuffs on them and unload their weapons.) If they're on-the-level and relatively cool, we'll feed them, get them hydrated, put some blood in them if applicable, and try to get them on the road to recovery. I've actually met a few cool people that way.
  16. It has its ups and downs. In reality, wouldn't some jackass get hold of a radio transmitter and babble? The radio only has a range of (I think...?) 10 kilometers, so it's not like a be-all-end-all global chat. Imagine when you first join a server that you read on the side of a building someone's spraypainted the radio frequency. Wouldn't you check it out? If it's getting on your nerves, just switch frequencies or turn off your radio. Or throw it out. You don't have to listen.
  17. Can you elaborate please?

Someone can tell me why is that funny?

Is that what you tell yourself whenever you or someone you know shoots somebody without giving them a chance? "They should know better?" "We're teaching them?" You can teach someone a lesson without violence. Now then, as for the CoD/Battlefield influence, I only bring it up because the ONLY objective to that game (and any other game involving weaponry it seems like) is to kill your opponent. Players have been brainwashed into thinking that destruction is the only way to play a game like this. Build your arsenal. Destroy theirs. Right? This game is meant to be a survival simulator. I'm not saying that PvP shouldn't have its place. I'm saying that DayZ shouldn't be an outright goddamned deathmatch. When loot-hopping countermeasures, hunting, less-than-lethal weaponry, vehicles, and sensible zombie mechanics get worked into the final product we're going to see a lot more teamwork and a little less of this KoS mentality.

Pyromania! (Molotov cocktails and ways of making fire)

I find it highly unlikely that molotovs won't be implemented- especially with physics on the way, It's just a matter of time. And yeah, those fire bows are a pain in the ass, I'd rather use a mirror and a lens to start a fire. at least that way you could rig it to stand still while you do something else like gather wood until the kindling actually catches. anywho, It'd be great if you could collect different zippos. I've got a bunch in my collection.

So long as he doesn't speak. His profile says he's male.

    Anti Stab Vest

The way I understand it, having a vest or chest piece doesn't provide "additional protection" insofar as damage reduction. I think the point of the videos showed that even while wearing a vest your character takes the same amount of damage as if they were wearing only a hoodie or t-shirt or whatever. Haha, I respect that, man. Do what you have to do to survive. I wouldn't have won nearly half the battles if I hadn't had some liquid courage myself.
  23. nettles

    Anti Stab Vest

Have you ever been shot in the chest with a mosin without wearing a vest? There's a lot of factors to consider when comparing equipment. Were you hit by zombies at all before hand? Is your character well fed and healthy? Were you moving or still?
  24. nettles

    Anti Stab Vest

I don't wear vests at all and on several different occasions I've been barraged with M4 rounds and was fine afterward. It's actually not got as much stopping power as you might think. It took nearly half a 40-round mag to stop some cracked-out tweaker from axe murdering me the other day and all he had on was a clown mask and a rain coat. what's with kids' aversion to wearing pants? And the information in the wiki is untrue. If you watch the video I posted wherein WOBO tests the press/anti stab vests you'll see that the test dummy wearing the vest actually dies in one hit from a .45.
