Zombies are slowly getting better. I'm pretty psyched about the hoppers and crawlers. It's a lot harder to nail them on the move now. Gives me a reason to actually FIRE my weapons for once. (especially since melee is borked for the moment)

I mean, let's be fair though, he did combat log, but you're completely missing the point that he ran in there and pummeled a geared player with his bare fists.

Have you tried any of these? I found the cfg tweaks really helpful: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=216291078

whew, those are some really low settings. Congrats on the haul though.

A couple months ago I could attach the bipod to the Mosin. I never really liked the gun personally and the point is now moot anyway since I found another AK. The compensator just dampens recoil, the bipod steadies your aim while you're prone.

Nah, there are some other buildings not covered, like the high-rises, small houses, sheds, apartment buildings, that don't spawn anything worth picking up. Besides, this post provides pictures to reference what we're talking about. Some people are visual learners. c:

I will admit I'm pretty thrilled that you can't run while pointing a gun. It's a double-edged sword though. Are footsteps quieter with the new crouch-walk/run? Or is my mind playing tricks? I'm also seeing a lot of loot spawn in houses that didn't spawn loot before and houses that spawned very sparse loot.

Hunting was the biggest thing I was excited for. Now that that's in, tents are just gravy. To be completely honest though, with a fishing pole, rifle, M9A1 bayonet, and matches, I have everything I'll need. Not much of a hoarder.

The pub in Svetlo can be climbed by using the scaffolding on the sidewalk. if you look at your video, after you shoot that kid and zoom out, the way up is on the right side. On a side note, it's nice to know that a roof is a solid surface in this game and that you don't just phase through it.

agreed. We actually need less loot in general. We need more loot spawn locations, but only 1/3 of the VOLUME of loot that already spawns, particularly food and weapons. You sir, have the right idea. I can't wait to make some beef stew with pepper, potato, and a can of beans. Or some sort of creamy potato soup with bagged milk and fish slices. Or rice pilaf with peppers and fried potatoes. Or...

Woah there, kid. No reason to be hostile. OP was just asking if they were in. I'm curious as well and hoping to see if anyone posts evidence for or against. I C A R E

Playing dayz again, and i am a bit confused about versions..
nettles replied to kingflip's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
To my understanding you can actually find the beta files and update them yourself. Steam and DayZ commander just make it easier. If you own a copy of the game, I think you're entitled to the latest versions. Also, I think that server versions are different than client versions. I haven't played the mod in a couple years though and that might have changed. :L -

People would abuse 'PvP-free' servers to collect military gear and then hop to PvP-enabled servers to shoot each other. That would be the only purpose that kind of server would... serve. If you're playing this game and you're in a situation where you hear a gunshot and your adrenaline doesn't spike, you're doing it wrong.
-
Haven't you heard the stories?
-
Why didn't you have a gun drawn to begin with? Even if you weren't planning on shooting someone, it would still be wise to be ready. You could have still just run past him, when they're doing that animation for the time being they're pretty much frozen and helpless. There's a lot of things that could be done differently, but what happened happened. Don't kick yourself.

What clothes do you wear for fashion alone.

We need hip-holsters or thigh holsters. Those would look kinda cool. Definitely DEFINITELY need CamelBak packs -
I too am having this issue when my partner and I play. The best thing you can do for right now to avoid the server-hop timer is to Exit DayZ completely after you leave a server. When you open it back up again and join into another server it should be fixed. I think the 'cannot load material file' has something to do with fireplaces.

Tan-tac shirt, beige cap, sunglasses, and a nice comfy pair of jeans. I really like the hunter's pack too; it's much more aesthetically pleasing than the mountain variants. -

I really hope that whoever tries to shoot me feels the same way.

The FNX is probably the best sidearm. Magazines and bullets are pretty easy to come by in just about any setting. Personally I carry a CR75 because the magazines are easy to find and there are no shortage of 9mm rounds. I also counted on it doing less damage than a .45 since I don't like to kill people, but after a few... accidents... I'm starting to think they do about the same damage.

It's unwise to hoard military gear, though I understand why people do it. So far the game doesn't offer much to do besides collect rare loot. Personally, if I see someone wearing a full military outfit with a gas mask/helmet, I either steer clear or blast them. (some loot farmers cornered me, KoS isn't my style.) The gear you outfit yourself with says a lot about the contents of your backpack, so if you're carrying an AK geared to LMG mode, full TTsKO/Gorka, mask/helmet, anyone who sees you is probably going to start salivating with the prospect of your goodies. It's good that you tried to reach out and let people know you weren't interested in fighting, but a lot of times the best option is to just avoid those areas. No amount of high-end loot is worth losing everything. Personally, I carry a stock AK, hunting backpack, hi-cap vest, blue jeans, baseball cap, and a fishing pole on my back. Take up a hobby mate, whenever you feel the craving to go looting, dig up a handful of worms and go fish. It's kinda relaxing and you have a much lower chance of coming down with sudden-death syndrome.

if you're in some kind of fight, as soon as you regain consciousness you're probably going to remember what dropped you in the first place and the adrenaline would take over. or epinephrine, whichever. But you are right, it's unreasonable to just stand up after being knocked out.
