Most DayZ mod servers have a SQL database containing all the player data, loot tables, vehicle locations, custom building locations, etc, etc... These tables can be edited with 3rd party programs like HeidiSQL or any other SQL client. To access these databases you will need to know the Server's IP address, the port through which you can access the SQL database, and the password to access the database. Using SQL to modify player data or other information is usually only done by server admins. Keep in mind that the above information (as far as I know) is only relevant when dealing with private hives. Private servers have their own databases and are not connected to the public hive. As for the Standalone, the public hive database is not open for public manipulation. You're going to have to loot your gear. Once Private shards and hives are released, then we may be provided tools to change how the server works and have access to our private databases that are not connected to the public hive. I did come back to the mod, but it just seemed so cartoony and unrealistic I couldn't handle it anymore. :c I had 1500 hours on ArmA II just from DayZ mod, and now I can't even bear the thought of playing it.

This is probably the most properly articulated stance on PvP I've read for this game. You're right, if someone makes a mistake, they should pay for it. If they charge a popular loot spot alone for the sake of walking away with disposable items they deserve to die. The weak are so focused on the gear and the hollow kills- I'm more concerned with the experience. Laying prone in a bush with a pair of binoculars, watching player and zombie movement from the edge of town. "Guy with a green refrigerator on his back, heading to the church. Did you see the guy with the gas mask? what a tool." Those are the people that just can't cut it. The ones that stupidly run around in the open because they're so confident that their tricked-out M4s and gas masks will protect them. I never (well, rarely-) shoot on sight, but if I did more often, I'd target these pathetic children. Aside from myself and some other forum-dwellers, I've never seen any player carrying a fishing pole on their back, which to me says 'I'm too caught up in looting and shooting to bother with survival.' Good, then you already know what the 'you are dead' screen looks like. enjoy.

I might use a GL attachment if tear gas was a common enough round to find so I could keep 2 in my bag for special occasions. I have no problem finding rare items at heli crashes, which spawn in pretty consistent areas (so far I've been finding 2 or 3 at a time in the heartlands).

Well, you might be right, and I might just be overreacting, but the one time I get killed by an HE nade I'm going to be incredibly pissed off. :L And to be fair, most people that use 40mm GLs or GLs in general are way too close for wind and gravity to have too much effect on its velocity.

The sticks comment was sarcasm. No, the picture you posted appears to be a full grown man kitted with military gear. That's okay though, I understand that you're taking everything I say literally. Fortunately for me, I don't (with my bare, real life hands) have to fight grown men with assault rifles with my sticks. What I'm implying is that children that play this game will easily get hold of these GLs and spray grenades (Woah maybe I need to slow down and explain that is hyperbole, lest you take me seriously) all over the map like we're playing CoD or BF. Especially if they're as common as any other attachment for any other gun. Which they will likely be.
