My time to shine... 1. Why on earth would someone bother injecting a GPS tracker into someone during a zombie apocalypse. It's rather pointless considering the other events that are going on. 2. Where would someone get a GPS tracker in such a situation? You can't just go and grab one. 3. How the fuck would a GPS signal from a tracking device show up on a standard GPS, nevermind a paper map (like you suggested.). This idea is rather impractical, and not thought through.

Too many exploits. Bad idea I'm afraid.

Playing this game as an FPS is the worst.
Statik (DayZ) replied to scaramoosh's topic in General Discussion
Sure. Blame the game. I get it. -
A punch would lead to a bat. A bat would lead to a wood axe A wood axe would lead to a fireplace. A firearm would then lead to a gun. He was just saving time. EDIT: Fuck, fireAXE not fireplace. ..

There wouldn't be good loot in sewers, and most people wouldn't be stupid enough to try to survive in them.

You might have had the glitch where your pack is attached, but stuck at your feet

I like the ideas, but don't touch the timezones. Locking timezones is just plain stupid, and I don't see why people want to force players to play on a server of their choice If they want to hop to day servers, then let them.

To the person who shot at me at NE airfield

Thanks for making a completely pointless thread. -
Dean Hall himself saying it needs "serious optimization"

Its alpha. Everyone knows it needs to be optimised. -
Pornography. Pornography everywhere...

Apart from basic human needs, what would you want in an apacalypse?
Statik (DayZ) replied to Cydone's topic in General Discussion
Tryin to keep it realistic, ya know? -
Oops.

I have a very new piece of software. Crazy expensive, but sooooo worth it. You can do so much with it.

I'd take a reinforced, electrically charged, mine surrounded, state of the art, nuclear bunker, with 8 feet thick titanium walls and enough food to feed 100 people for 100 years. And a milkshake. -
Took on a group of 7+ bandits at Balota with some friends... Enjoy....

Vanilla. It's the true way to play DayZ.

With all due respect, I believe it's called a "Lean-to". Not a primitive shelter.

Before reading, I want everyone to know, this is only an idea. I don't know how difficult it would be to implement (if possible at all), nor have I broken down every piece of apparel. But nonetheless, here we go: As is, if a player gets shot in say, his/her backpack, everything inside is ruined. The same goes for all pieces of apparel that can hold loot. I would like to see each piece broken down into "zones". Each zone would have a separate hitbox, and that hitbox would be associated with a specific part of inside the item. I didn't create examples for all loot items, I only did the "Hunter Pack" and the "UK Assault Vest". An example: As you can see, I broke the pack into 6 zones. I also broke the inside of the pack down into six more zones. Let's name the zones from left to right, 1, 2, 3, then on the bottom, 4, 5, 6. If a player were to get shot in zone 1, only the things inside zone 1 would become damaged. In this case, a canteen, and a soda can. If I were to get shot in zone 5, my ammo, vitamins, painkillers, compass, bandage, and canopener would be damaged. As you can also see, in zone five, the medkit, and box overlap from other zones. Items like this that overlap, would have the possibility to take damage from either zone in which they reside. I only did this breakdown on the Hunter pack, but it could be modified for any pack. I also did a breakdown for the UK Assault Vest, as seen below: As you can see, I also broke the vest into four equal zones. This could be modified to work on all pieces of gear that hold loot (i.e., vests, shirts, pants, packs, etc). Hopefully, this would help out players extremely, in the way of, if you get shot in the top of your pack, the items in the bottom won't get damaged, or if you get shot in the right hip, items in your left pocket won't get damaged, etc, etc. It could also possibly add another element to the game, in which players would have to organize their packs more effectively. so as to not have lots of items overlapping, or to place high priority items in what they believe to be "safer" spots in their inventory system. if you made it this far, thank you. This could be reformed many ways, and IMHO would add much more to the game. What do you think?

A small feature that would make partying up much easier in DayZ
Statik (DayZ) replied to Arthix's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
You could use a friend, or an extra CD key as a spawn beacon. No. Just spawn normally, and find your friends. It's not that hard. -
Clans, groups, guilds, organizations, bands, club, etc. I think it should reside to the group in what they want to call themselves. I don't think they plan on making a "clan" system ingame. It should always, all be formed outside the game, and held together solely by player structure.

Running around screaming that he is a faggot. Yes, not funny.

That was just bad. But the commentary completely ruined it.

I agree with you, but: NO point systems NO NPCs.

The dev team really went balls deep on the SA.
