Well, there is nothing to combat it at the moment. This is pre-alpha. People are playing to play DayZ, they're not playing to test. You'll just have to wait for some sort of patch for it.

It effects your gear, but at this time, it does not affect food. It only matters if it's rotten or not.

You're just thirsty as fuck. It took me about 8 drinks from a pond from critical to quench it. You're best off just drinking everything you find, but keep a few in your pack for emergencies.

You just need to find some source of light or clear place, but pointing your flashlight at it would be a badass feature for sure. -

It was spent with some friends I have hardly talked to in months, on a bustling DayZ Vanilla server. Greatest way to lead into the Standalone. We went from having a V3S and Littlebird, to sitting on this hill by Polana town eating all our canned food. Standalone is 93% downloaded. Ooh baby, my body is ready.
