  1. I do think the armband would be ok but all we been given is the armband will just be yet another article of clothing. I'm already guessing we may get something other than just more cloths cause even with customization its still easy to copy or confuse. I'm having a hard time recognizing people in game yet real immersion would have a way for me to know if I know the person I'm looking at since in real life it is rare you find two people to looking the exact same and you may know the difference but in game you can't tell as well. They pick up a new backpack so I'm gonna shoot I guess. I'm wanting to be able to recognize one of the armbands in my group if I can't recognize a friend so well. By this I mean I don't care about different colors if it can be copied. It's still not realistic enough. My suggestion is my teams armband looks the same but anyone else would always be different in my eyes and in a 3rd party it would all look the same since to them they don't know any of us. Also a drawback is if my enemy kills my friend and takes his armband I will recognize that armband as my friends so it still looks like my colors. That way I can be tricked as well and the armband can work like a mask on my friends face and someone just wears the mask (meaning I've never seen my friends face but the same mask and his voice is muffled). Example: I make 5 armbands and pass them to my friends. One dies and it gets taken and they fall into the group. Im now walking with the enemy and we all are wearing green. Well his friends walk up with red bands and he shoots me in the back. It is either that or some kind of icon on their head but that breaks immersion. Another idea being able to wear it in certain places but having to remove the cloths that may be obscuring it such as neck, forehead, wrist, belt, ect. I'm just wanting this to make some sense. Yeah if I die I may be a new person and my friends don't look like my friends anymore but if I do know them for some time I should recognize their face which is rather near impossible in a game compared to real life.
  2. Well i read that forced tutorials are a pain but why not have one like combat arms, i think they had one. They didn't require you to do it but any time you can select it and then choose category. From what was said about the mod there are still people who don't know some controls cause they haven't looked them up. But in case you wanna wing you you don't have to do it. Sound good? I had my post closed i guess cause i didn't elaborate but in stand alone everything is changing and was said likely on consoles. They even said it will be nothing like arma so controls could be different for computer and will be confusing on console

  5. Actually in announcement it was said there will be tunnel system. He shuddered and mumbled something about players possibly making them and having underground bases. I believe it was said it might happen in a different instance though to keep the above ground more clean.
  6. Same but i hate the danger. I would like a cage with a rope and bait that i tie to land by something and it will catch a fish or two for me while im home. Can be stolen of course.

  8. The link is kinda what ill talk about but start at 14:49 i think and you'll see the reason why i have suggested a marker system for people on your friends list. Some reason i keep getting shot down but i thought it made up for how i can know someone facing away by their shape and hair color but in games you can't spot someone familiar as well.
  9. Im mainly dragging this from many good points but others going overboard. First houses. Ok everyone likes a safe place but also people don't like safe places cause they wanna be able to loot them. I thought like from the newer updates in dayz that DS (Dayz standalone) that having a house with a keypad lock was great. Although i wouldn't like someone who spotted me and is hiding out in an indestructible home after taking some pot shots at me. I think homes should be destroyable like some buildings like with satchel charges. Honestly explosives seem rare enough i don't see them a lot plus they make a lot of noise. Great you can build them now. Well if you enter or leave the house you need to lock it. Otherwise someone could go in and loot the place. Keypad should require code unlock or even by remove which code can be given to friends and easily changed by owner if friend goes bad. Key pads should be for advanced homes and should stay there till player does access it in a couple days as well as harder to destroy. Hard work is a pain but it is fair plus the map or maps will be huge so why not unless they blocking road. Just drive around. Back on doors without key codes. If player has remote or a key chain it can be taken off dead player and used till house disappears. Just cause you have keys doesn't mean you know where their key hole is unless your lucky. This may be a bad idea because someone watching your home could wait for you then you lost it all but that's what looters and bandits want right? If they do implement keys or maps that players can edit to mark their home then it too can be stolen. If your keys are stolen you can still go through the process of changing your locks or code easily but maybe exposed. I had seen an idea to camo your stuff by equipping a gilly suit but it not invisible just harder to see. Much more on houses not already implemented or planned on may be setbacks on release so ill leave them for later. Self healing can be done but blood is a difficult deal. Only late in dayz was it made that more than eating or blood transfusion could restore your blood but now you can sleep some back as well. If you continue that then i suggest ability to upgrade beds to heal faster with iv bags and curing by bed able to use your blood bags and even heated bed for when you have a cold. None coming cheap cause you gotta replace iv and blood bag every use. Then again these could be two different beds. One to heal and one to sleep. Ill even start with futon as Crap bed just as long as i can upgrade later. Also idea on self transfusion would require hanging the bag or even something boosting blood recovery but still slowly. Didn't think on adding this but just thought about how they fixing zombie path finder but video showed the zombie right next to you the whole time meaning you cannot escape. Please implement ways to help escape or make them lose interest or something. The new zombies seem they will be overpowered and will make the game do a few spins cause dayz players were your biggest worry while zombies could just be a reason to be less obvious . You couldn't have a proper gun fight again and most pro should agree that a long fight is fun. Back to transfusion. Self transfusions should be implemented but less effective i heard that there may be ways to track players so self transfusions leave more mess and bandages can be used infinitely but washed again before next use. Better the water or alcohol you use to wash it the more effective on your recovery. Also any mess made should have option to be hidden like selecting shovel you can select multiple items in inventory at once to hide. Last thing i see would be a friend system. Not spawning closer to friends but say your flanking. You can still kill your teammates but if they are friends listed you get a marker letting you know their name on their head at all times or a colored triangle marking them. Also if you have GPS they can use a beacon to contact you giving your GPS their coordinates or sync each others GPS with yours so you know their position at all times as long as they your friend and/or alive (like unsync on death). Also you can betray a friend at any time without removing them from your list. If your killed by someone you should be told who did it but not from where and if they are your friends. If you kill a friend you can have an icon in a message box you can access any time but it won't pop anything up to hinder you and when you check it it will ask if you wish to remove from friend list or add to black list. Simply adds a skull to their name when you see it. Friends should also be alerted when a friend nearby is killed. Don't think they should be told by who by anyone but their soon spawning friend. Friends and even those dumb enough to do so can grant their own home key or garage key to anyone friend or foe. I think a list of people with keys to your stuff should be available. Also dying with a friends key can't be stolen if it was a granted key. Only owner should have key to their house but a friend with a map could still have marked locations for friends houses. Quick suggestion on guns is please improve crossbow. Able to carry many arrows in one slot. Not much damage to zombie body but instant bleed affect to human. That's what arrows are made to do. Even have stronger bleed tips. Head shot on zombie with any gun should be instant kill unless they wear something that can stop a bullet. Bike helmets should resist side are or arrow damage but not completely. Sniper rifles are all higher piercing guns so helmets do little to none. Armor vest should be able to wear back packs at same time. Didn't see that in video. Hopefully knives implemented but effective against humans. Now i covered everything i said i would. Please leave more of how you see it best that doesn't scrap the idea but makes it more approveable by others like saying GPS on friends is dumb but the idea of knowing its them in person is good. I know i rant but if you disagree with a part please give your reason and idea.

    Idk about tying a live player seeing as there are some who like to alt f4 at hopeless moments. Also those who abort in dayz seem to make their bodies do a disappearing act. If that doesn't happen they i love your ideas completely

    Why remove the 50?

    Listen. Even getting away from 50s they will just replace it with another name. Honestly they under powered cause one shot to vehicle engine and it should blow. Barrette 50 cal was made to take out tanks with availability of pierce and explosive bullets. Maps will now be a lot bigger so more places to hide them so possibly more rare. They won't take out a gun cause it is one hit kill and as for accuracy its just bullet drop cause no wind effect in games. Also military bases carry all kind of 50 bullets and removing a powerful gun will only take away from the harsh awesome from the game. Only thing i think they will think about changing is hip fire accuracy.

    DayZ on console

    Its not necessarily will or won't cause it was leaning toward yes cause it was said they will get more money that way to improve the game but with next gen so close this fall and alpha has sorta began this month we still have a few months to wait so by the time they done they might just wait for console anyways for more finishing touches.

The admin of the site said making a post you can ask for no discussions and only reason i haven't ignored you was cause you have strong reasons someone as dense as i can see so i hoped mixing my idea to make it easy and yours to make it harder we can find a balance but where i made some suggestions for the harder side you keep pushing for it to be hard enough only those who spend weeks of dying in the first few hours just figuring the game before they can learn how to get just a couple more hours.
  25. From that i read there has been discussion that SA will be implemented on consoles. Though said someone that the cross console idea would be bad it was brought up that it would give more funding to the game. This made me wonder do to consoles being against mod games cause if installed wrong the owner of the system will complain to the system maker wanting a free working console since it was them who bought rights to the game and mod. May be less of a deal than im making it but with all this i wanted to ask. Will SA be its own game or will arma be required to play it?
