    Magic

Magic in a sandbox game? great idea! Magic in a zombie survival mmo sandbox game thingy? nope. I think magic doesn't fit the style of dayZ. Mana and fire spells in a zombie apocalypse...? Other than that, DayZ is supposed to be authentic. How could you make magic believable?!

    [SA] Dodging-Button/Animation

True. I think this would be expecially useful for dodging snipers. If they are a good distance away (500+ meters) you can dodge if you see the muzzle flash.

    Insanity System

Good conclusion. Now let's be quiet and let it die a natural death.

    Insanity System

That's the thing that makes a sanity system look stupid. Would you get insane when you kill every person you meet for no reason? maybe. Would you get insane when you kill every person you meet because every person you met before tried to kill you? definitely not. This. I'd say there should be no disadvantages for bandits (except the diseases) but there should be some advantages for players who team up. Making players do something is like training a dog. Don't punish him for doing wrong stuff. Reward him for doing the right stuff. Currently there are only advantages for killing on sight. You get better stuff, and you don't risk getting killed by the guy who you just murdered. Teaming up has basically just the advantage of having double firepower and being able to bloodbag. But you have the disadvantage that your buddy could betray you which is a HUGE disadvantage. So there need to be more advantages for team players to make both playstyles somewhat equally rewarding.

    Insanity System

There already is a sanity system: The person who plays the game. You should have as much control about your character as possible. If you want to kill people, do it. If you feel bad about it, don't do it. Not the game should dictate how your character feels, you should do it. Other than that, there are ways in SA to discourage banditry. Diseases.

    In-Game store with hats!

Average troll. 5/10 Seriously, this is not WarZ and not TF2. Map DLCs yes, microtransactions no.

idea for put balls in sock

I wondered about that, too :/Although I don't think he's a troll, I don't think that everyone wondering about that should need to stalk all his posts... Could you please explain it in your profile description?

    Why is "side chat" prohibited?

It ruins the immersion. Just think of a real zombie apocalypse. You would be alone, in the middle of 10,000 zombies and desperately trying to find out whether there are still humans out there. Then you find a radio, hear other survivors, team up and be happy. And now think of a zombie apocalypse where you have a radio all the time and hear children asking their mum for dinner, hear people micspam terrible songs and hear idiots raging about getting sniped while checking their gear on top of the firestation.

The Ultra Rare in DayZ (game not mod)

I don't think that keeping them alive would be profitable. If you managed to get them to surrender (which will already be hard) you have to get in melee range to loot them. Fake out your axe and you don't waste bullets. If you keep them alive they will want revenge and if they find a gun in the next house you are screwed. Killing sends them back to the coast and gives you a safe distance to them. But I think true bandits would kill less people for loot - even if the target is standing still and you can take them out with just one bullet, that bullet can be worth more than the loot the victim has - so you just let him live because it's not worth it.

    Big Rivers

Use the search function. this has been suggested many times before. A realistic river which flows from a mountain to the sea would not be possible because in the ArmA 2 Engine all water has to be at sea level. (the lakes are separate objects). Other than that, as said above, a lot of the surrounding terrain would have to be changed.

The Ultra Rare in DayZ (game not mod)

I don't think rarer loot will reduce KoS. It likely will encourage trading, but KoS doesn't exist because the people who do it would want items. I think there are two kinds of people who kill on sight: 1. the paranoids (me), 2. the assholes. the true bandits who kill for loot never killed on sight. They first think if the loot would be worth the bullets. That won't change except the value of bullets will become higher. The paranoids will still sacrifice their last bullets to not get killed and the assholes still won't give a shit and continue sniping fresh spawns. That's my opinion, and I'm probably wrong, so feel free to correct me.

    Walking Dead

UNITE! Although, the zeds are NPCs, aren't they? I'd say "NO SURVIVOR NPCs EVER"
  13. Firewarrior64

New player, why is side chat enabled?

Beans for you. The main thing why I love the communication system in SA is because people have to work to communicate with other survivors. In a real apocalypse people would.do everything to get contact with the remaining humans and I'm glad that there is no 'free' global communication in SA.

    Radiation

I just quoted rocket. Of course I doubt that, too, but I don't have any experience with BIS, so I can't say anything about it.
  15. Firewarrior64

    Walking Dead

And surviving an entire Bandit clan is even more tense. Other than that, I think the players should be the only survivors left - "the last of us". NPCs would be bad story-wise because they mean there are organized survivors and an intact army means that the government is still active - and so it's not a complete apocalypse. Oh, and Rocket said no to NPCs anyways.
  16. Firewarrior64

    Walking Dead

NEINNo NPCs. EVER. DayZ is about the player interactions. NPCs would ruin this. Both friendly and not-so-friendly ones.
  17. Firewarrior64

    Radiation

Rocket said that the server runs very stable and doesn't have to be restarted often- basically just when it needs to be updated.

    Map stuff.

Didn't GPS get removed? I saw a reddit thread that said so.

    More detailed world.

Why not add tanks without ammo or a broken gun? Then they would be mainly used for protection against the zeds. And if you mean that you can just get to the coast without getting harmed, there's not that much difference to regular vehicles. A fresh spawn can't destroy a tank because he /she doesn't have a gun, but then he/she couldn't destroy a car either, so...

    More detailed world.

Beans for you. It's no new idea, but it has to be said from time to time. I's say the L4D2 levels are pretty intense and show many signs of human resistance. Although I'd reduce the amount of chaos and destruction, I'd say they are pretty good. Expecially cherno and elektro would need a LOT of signs of human resistance.

    Idea for gas masks

Hello survivors, as many of us know there will be gas masks in the standalone. However, there wasn't any information (that I would know; please correct me if I'm wrong) about the functionality. I think that they should protect you completely from an infection when you're near infected players. This MIGHT encourage people to help infected players and not just let them die. And I think this would be a tool that would help organised medic groups so someone who healed an infected doesn't have to be isolated first to see whether he got infected too or not.

    Idea for gas masks

I'll wear it all the time, too ^^ Anyways, I think contaminated areas have already been suggested multiple times. I think it's a nice idea (expecially for endgame loot) but I don't know if it is possible whith the engine and how much work it would be.
  23. Hey guys, the first thing I want to say is that I'm NOT asking when it's going to be released. I want them to take their time and don't rush it. My question is, how many alpha invites will be there? I first thought (and heard of) a public release where everyone can play it. Then I heard that there would be only 50,000 invites. And yesterday I heard that there would be only 150 invites, meaning that I would have no chance at all to play it :/ So what is true? Unlimited keys, 50,000, 150 or something else? Thanks for your responses, the guy with the shitty name

SA: Medic & Code of Conduct

This is not supposed to fight banditry, of course most bandits would shoot a medic on sight, but most of the paranoid people (including me) would not shoot someone with a medic badge or a medic alice pack. Beans to boneboys, I would love to see a medic backpack. That would also help with the problem that you can't see a badge from far away because you definitely could see the backpack. But please, for the love of god, they shouldn't be random loot because then every bandit could dress up as a medic. It should be an achievement vor patching people up and you shouldn't be able to loot it from a medic's corpse.
