  1. And? Do you need a big subsection of opinions? What for? The people who play DayZ are obviously not interested in a survival game. But the Standalone will be a survival game. Ergo, the only valid opinion for the standalone is actually for those who want a survival game, these people are also called hardcore fans, and these people did vote in the polls. So you see, the polls actually have the most important and the biggest part of the players which really know what they want. A poll which would be voted by ever player would result in invalid opinions. All these people who enjoy those servers like "5000 AS50s per m²" are people who will very likely not enjoy the standalone. They will buy it with false expectations and just stop playing until Dean turns it into a deathmatch again.
  2. Yes and these people are probably all those guys who enjoy third person. Well, I think some of them are among us, right now. <_<
  3. What the f*ck? Don't change the subject. You were talking about 90% using third person, so it was "right" in your opinion. But 90% (probably like 99%) of the people are actually on servers like I described. Does that mean standalone should look like that? Here you got the evidence: http://img4.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/untitled2os84nxwg6i.png http://img4.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/untitled183kobehl2j.png
  4. The only f*cking reason you write this is that you actually afraid that Dean will listen to us and get rid of that f*cking immersion and gameplaybreaking third person sh*t so you are no longer able to exploit and feel save like in a f*cking barbie world.
  5. That it exactly what I was trying to f*cking tell you. You know what 90% of the server are too? DayZChernarus | Max Vehicles | 20+ Helicopters | Costum Barracks | Increased Starting Loadout | [RECRUIT] Now, what is your f*cking argument for that, huh?
  6. It is not 50% that do not want TPV, it is 60%. Holy sh*t just give up. People do not want third person, why is that so hard to understand? And I repeat myself here, but there is no other community. We here, the DayZ Forum are the community. Just because you play a game it does not mean you are a mother*ucking member of a community. You need to be actually in the community, to be in the community. Jesus... My f*cking god. There is a community and there are players. The main part of the community does not want third person. Zero f*cking sh*t is given about what the players want because they are not part of the community. If they have something to complain or if they want to change the game they can join the community. But if you are not a part of the community you have simply no right to f*cking effect the polls of this community. What is your logic here god damit? How do you want to get feedback from the people? So, everything we in this forum say is for you simply motherf*cking pointless because we don't represent sh*t? So why do we even give feedback? For what? I mean we are not all the players right? Yes sure, why don't we just let the game be how the casual gamers want it to be. 99999 AS50, 200 helis and 50000 cars per server. If you want that then go and play f*cking call of duty or some other sh*t. We don't care, if you think our voice, the voice of the community, is meaningless than f*cking leave this community.
  7. Yes, indeed I wrote it kind of weird. No, I really don't think it is the thing between, and if you expect the standalone to be like that you will probably very disappointed. The mod in the early beginning is nothing compared to the standalone. Like Dean said, weapons will be way more harder to find. Loot will be controlled by a main server, which means that even food could be very, very hard to obtain. I don't know how Dean is developing the game, but as his game was invented by the thought that people kill each other even for a can of beans I think he will probably go that road. It will be that hard to not starve that you will kill others for food, or group up to search efficient. Maybe I am wrong with the food thing, but even just the weapons thing will change the game completly into a hardcore game. No more shooter, you will probably never have a M4 with 10 mags. Maybe once in a week you will find one or two with like a half mag. Do you think any of these Frankie kids who saw on youtube how actionfilled the game is will enjoy a real survival game? You know, more than 1 million people of the players out there never played the DayZ how it is supposed to be, well maybe I put it wrong. 1 million people expect the standalone to be as fun as the mod just with cooler features. But it will be a totally different game if Dean is actually implementing what he says. We can't have everything, you are totally right. But we should always fight for what we actually can have, and that is for me and for more than 50% of this community, wiping out third person from DayZ history. Everyone does give feedback if given the chance? Everyone has the chance to give feedback. Just register on reddit or the forums and you are good to go. But people don't do that. Casual players don't want to waste their time on that because they have also other interests. But as part of our hobby DayZ is kind of important to us. We invest a lot of time in it so we want it to be good. And we made actually polls which say that the huge majority does not want 3rd person. Stop crying, this is democracy. We made polls, we are arguering. Maybe Dean will hear us out, maybe he will not. But it is our right to tell him our opinion about this matter.
  8. Don't dude me, it's childish. And I don't know if you realised but Dean did exactly what you described. He does what he wants and viola almost 2 million people play a awful mod with hackers, glitches and a "broken" first person view.
  9. Ok, I'll explain it to you. The part "Because they are simply the people..." was refering to the normal players, not the hardcore players. It meant like, they are just players but the hardcore fans are actually those who give feedback and build the game and the community. So, the players have actually nothing to say because they simply don't say anything. The only people who help to get the game working are the hardcore fans and the developer, not the normal casual player who don't give a f*ck about the game. They just play it and if they don't like it they stop, they don't go into forums and complain, because that would be kind of hardcorish, if you know what I mean. The casual player, so the majority of the gamers just plays the game as it is. They don't care about third or first person. They don't know what kind of effect the view has to the game. They don't know that first person destroys the whole expirience. They just play the game, on servers like "200+ helis, 1000+ cars, additional baracks, AS50s spawn..." and enjoy the game. They don't know that they could enjoy the game way more if there would be some restrictions to it. If the game stays like it is in the mod the people will forget about it very soon, because it gets boring. If you have once expirienced like AS50 fights vs 10 helis etc. than the game is just nothing else than Battlefield, besides the fact that you waste 10 hours for walking.
  10. Oh my good, who said that? Nobody thinks that, but Dean is creating the game for the hardocre fans. First sentence bullsh*t so I won't bother to read the rest, sorry.
  11. Majority does not man "hardcore"? You don't say. You should read carefully, I wrote more than 50% of the hardcore gamers. I am not ignoring 50% of the hardcore fans who like TPV, because there are no 50%. Go check the polls.
  12. I think he did say on gamescom that they would start with the bubble in one weeks, that was almost a week ago so probably they are working on it.
  13. Never did that. More than 50% of the hardcare community does not want third person, so the hardcore fans do not want third person. Simple.
  14. The Standalone IS going to have 3rd person if we, the hardcore community, do not reach our goals. We are dedicated to improve the overall expirience of the standalone and with that duty we will try hard to wipe out 3rd person from DayZ history. ;)
  15. Exactly right, my beans for that. I got a theory about people complaining that the first person view is broken and I was playing DayZ today again, since a long time ago. I played on a pvp server, just for fun. Third person was enabled and you spawned with a m16. So I was shooting normally always in first person perspective, zooming in and use the scope. But I realised again that shooting out of third person or shooting in first person without scoping is way more easier. The crosshair is very, very accurate. You can hit your target from 400 meters without any problems using a normal m16. Trying that while scoping in is way more difficult. That is simply because there is recoil. In third person you don't have any real recoil, it is just the crosshair which moves slightly up while shooting. And if you play actually just in first person it is way more difficult and feels way more realistic than shooting from third person. For example, if you move in first person while shooting probably 90% of your bullets won't hit the target. However in third person it is like 50%. But I can tell you that, shooting while moving in real life is even for expirienced soldiers very difficult. And in DayZ the people are no soldiers, there are simple survivors. And what I love so much about arma is that you actually have progress similar to real life. Sure, you learn way more faster, but in a first person shooter like call of duty or battlefield you just need 1 minute and you got it, the rest is muscle memory. In DayZ however you really feel the impact of the gun, well that is probably because it is a simulation. I think that people just don't like this realistic handling of the gun. They say it is clunky and broken, but actually it is far more realistic than call of duty and all other games. And having this realism is changing the whole expirience. It is something special if you kill someone. You know it is not that easy. And most importantly the fact that skill is not everything. Even the best marksman is nothing worth on the battlefield if he does not understand the combat strategies and tactics, the behaviour in a firefight. These things are what makes arma and DayZ so special in terms of combat. You actually are able to applie real life tactics. But this is not the case if the game is in third person, it is like an arcade shooter. The difficulty which the first person view provides is probably for some player a pain, but actually the only thing which seperates DayZ combat from other games. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/145895-first-vs-third-person-discussion-dslyecxi-video/ Watch the video. Totally nonsense with "seeing a lot more around you in 3rd person". Additionally DayZ standalone will provide a FOV slider. And in Arma 2 you can actually change your FOV, too.
  16. Actually you can compare everything and you seriously wear clothes to look in the mirror and feel good? Well, probably you are an exception, but most people in our society use clothes to express theirselfs, to look unique and of course to attract other people. But in DayZ it has also the effect that you actually have different kinds of clothing, so it is part of the survival aspect. If it is cold you should wear something warm or you will get ill. If it is hot you should probably wear a tshirt. Tracking boots are better than normal boots because they hold longer, etc. Ah right, bless you. And? Do you think you got a bigger field of view in third person? It is the same just that the camera a slightly behind you.
  17. He has a clear vision of immersion and gameplay. However, I think what we say indeed does effect him. And I am not sure why Dean is not removing third person immediatly without hesitation completly from the game. He knows exactly that it is immersion and combat breaking. But on the other side he knows that many many people want it. But actually that is not true, we the hardcore fans just do not want it in the game. I am not sure if he is aware of the actual situation here.
  18. 1. You are able to see your clothes in the inventory 2. You can see you clothes if you look down 3. If it is cold you need clothes 4. You need shoes 5. Clothes can give you special advantages 6. Just ask yourself, why do we wear clothes in real life?
  19. I repeat myself over and over again. We have the option in the mod, but do you see any first person servers that are full? There are none. I don't know why that is and you don't know either. But we all know that almost 3000 people want the third person to be gone. It is the majority of the community (and you need to be in the community to be a part of it, not just playing the game) which wants third person to be gone. They don't want a option for third person, because they know it will end like it did in the mod. What the hell I am talking about? The main server which is controlling the loot for all the servers and which is saving all the characters on it. If there were third and first person server there would have to be 2 of these main servers, one for the third person server and the other for the first person servers. I am not sure if that works well with one server, but anyway that would be probably not as easy as you think. And I really don't think that Dean wants to part the players into two different fractions. :D LOL (I feel so childish after that)
  20. I don't know, maybe you are not able to read, but I never said that. There are polls about this matter, which represent the harcore community which is the main sellpoint for this game. There is nothing else to talk about. Nothing is wrong with two hives, but I really don't think that Dean would pay for two big servers.
  21. You are talking like first person would destroy the whole game expirience. But I think that even casual gamers will enjoy it way more with good FPV, they just don't know it yet. And you would have to have 2 seperate hives, because switching from a third person server into a first person would be kind of cheating. In third person you are able to get good weapons way easier than in first person.
  22. @SMLE We are sorry for your friend, but is there a third person mod in Battlefield especially made for disabled people? Listen, there are many other games he can play, but just because of him you cannot force a whole game to change. Now, we are discussing a very core element of DayZ, which is the perspective. It does not only include the whole combat system, but also the overall player behaviour. It is something very important, which effects every single player. This is why this discussion is so important and this is also why the polls are so important. Now we just need Dean to hear us out. I think he will try to fix the third person view, but I really think it will fail. In the end nobody will be happy, the third person players will tell you the new third person sucks and the first person players will still have the same problem as in the mod. Made at that moment Dean will realise that he wasted time, but maybe I am wrong about it and people will like the "broken" third person, because that is what it will be. We will see, but I can assure you that Dean will not change the whole game just for some people who have a disease. These people are able to play other games, there is just no need to change the game for it.
  23. Sure mate. Like I said, that is just sad.
  24. Calling me stubborn and deliberately when losing a debate, that is sad.
