One thing that is ruining this mod
Deuzerre replied to chvz144's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Just add Stingers/igla if planes scare you so much. -
DayZ is not a deathmatch and the statistics prove it
Deuzerre replied to chhopsky's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Most of my deaths were direct or indirect player killings. Notably: Getting shot at, but running away, using the only starting bandage... And getting hit by a Zed, until I bled out. Otherwise i avoid people so... -
Small (and last) bump. Got a few cans of beans anyway.

Poll: DayZ or The War Z?
Deuzerre replied to omgwtfbbq (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Since I learned WarZ would be using the War Inc. Engine... I think I'll stay with DayZ if it keeps its promises, or forget about both. -
Most of ACE's features are interesting but might be a BIT too hardcore for DayZ players. As for removing weapons, you could add other weapons to replace them. I have quite a few of ARMA's weapons I'd like included. Including Stingers just in case a helicopter passes by. Or a makarov SD, AKS74 PSO, silenced KOBRA, AK47s (probably more common in households than AK74s), RPG7, Saiga12K, unsilenced BIZON, etc... Why aren't those in game? And no, I haven't been posting in rage. That's funny to think you're able to see into my head from so far away. It's a long thought of idea that represents, once again, the fact that we play mere survivors & bandits that just don't have the exact weapon knowledge on how to handle guns. It's hilarious to see how people that don't know guns put the stock on their shoulders, and how it affects their aim, and how they get hurt shooting that way. Shooting is nowhere close to the way it's handled in most games and while ARMA is pretty close for trained people (but still not quite) it totally doesn't suit untrained people.

Edited some points in red, and the original TLDR sor it gives a better idea of the content.

Why can't we feast of human flesh?
Deuzerre replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Vikings actually raped to force their way (hurgh, don't know how to say that otherwise) in raided countries. Like a forced invasion from withing. Pretty smart as it turned out. There have been "Accepted" occasions of cannibalism, I think one of the most well known was after a plane crash in high mountains. A few survived off frozen dead brothers/sisters/fathers/mothers. yumyum. -
Thanks Dr Fever. I'll put some sentences in red to highlight some other TLDR points.
-
In short: - The first point isn't a player controled way to "destroy" gun, it's more of an idea that guns gets worn over time. - All of the weapons of ARMA aren't included in the game. Many weren't included due to balance reasons I believe. It's just a matter of choice on his end: Is it really worth it to have those two rifles that have no real practical use? - If this game is a simulation, why does it simulate soldiers when our characters are survivors? Would I be able to handle all of these weapons? Surely not. Would my neighbour too? Probably, he's a gun loon. But all survivors can't be supersoldiers. It's not just a balance thing, it's a simulation aspect too. The players aren't in pristine health, unlike you and I currently are or (arguably) soldiers that go in combat.

You clearly haven't read my signature. "Still alive" as GladOs would say. It's just... Nerfing an aspect of the game that's just pointless. As I said, i've been sniping, used to be overwatch for a team that split. I'm pretty decent at it, and it's just too easy to grief. Luckily, most grievers suck and don't know how to shoot at a moving target with sniper rifles, or go full auto at 150m with a secondary weapon if they have one. About the lifebar: Well, you see... There is that upcoming patch that will remember the ammo count. So a lifebar for number of shots or when shot at seems decent to me. I'll just go back in my cave and cry then. Joking, no problem, everybody got their opinions, and I didn't expect it to be popular. Not sure, due to the last sentence, that you are serious, but thanks anyway. Actually, they do. You have to change the barrel every (number of shots) depending on the quality of the weapon and strength of the cartridge. It's especially true for LMGs. Most of the rifles you'd find in this type of scenario would be worn and already used a bit, damaged and have suffered from the weather. Also, bones don't mend with morphine.

UPDATED DAILY: I'm Issuing a Warning to Any Snipers
Deuzerre replied to ZombieSpecialist's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Wow, that's a lame first post. PvP is fine. Bushwookie with a black antenna at every corner is counter productive. -
Overkill then. They are rare in real life. Their ammo weighs a ton. And sniping/aiming is way too easy for a "Survivor". Even soldiers would have trouble hitting targets while standig, when casually do it in here. Anyway: I'm counter snipoing with ma ACOG. It works well. Other weapons though have trouble hitting. Themost scary thing that can happen against a sniper is that you get desynch an stay in his sights.

Deuzerre replied to ZombieSpecialist's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I meant that in the general sort of way: You are my messiah, our guiding light, and we will follow your steps even if you may one day fall. -
Go to expert (not veteran) servers to not be able to use that map waypoint thing. Batteries though, I'm ok with.
-
And found him again?
-
I'm a bit torn. I'd like more varied weapons, but less frequent.

I will join you in your hunt (as soon as I get a silenced weapon). -
What was your most annoying/worst death in DayZ?
Deuzerre replied to Pureevuls's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Dying to... ? from 12K to -9K healt in an instant, near black lake, trying to find a way to go downhill. Just died, like that. -
No, I mean, you're spraying like mad in automatic. Switch to shot by shot and double tap, it's quite enough.
-
You know you can aim in this game, right? More seriosly, that's a lot of wasted ammo. In your situation, I loot all the coprses to look for pasta and stuff.

Poll re Telepathic/Psychic exploit. Please read the example before answering question!

What annoys me is that in game chat has been removed for the sake of "Realism" but that those VOIP, being unpoliceable, are accepted even though they completely screw the idea of realism. Seriously, I've played with friends and it's blatant cheating! A friend was low on blood (1.5K) around the three valleys. I had a bloodbag. I ran from up north to him, he reconnected just before I arrived and we coordinated so he could heal. That's completely OP/abusive. -
4500 I think, since my beloved AK still kills in two shots. I've been royally screwed with this patch: I have an AK Kobra, a M1911 and a Bizon. Yeah, way to go... Now if I encounter someone with a M4/16, they have the u^pper hand when the ammunition is near identical, my gun is less accurate, and louder to human ears. Such a great patch. My Bizon won't kill any human AND struggle against zeds (So cool!) and my M1911 will really be only indoor and slopes. Way to go, way to go. Genius. And great ballistic knowledge!

I love to play at night, even before getting Nvg. I never play on servers with over 30 (or below 10) people anyway, and night time is perfect for that. The people who play at night tend to be slightly less aggressive (except the hoppers) and when you see a movement in the distance, you generally don't shoot. When there is actual fighting, muzzle flashes and the like make great impressions, and it's much more interesting. Also, no one-shot snipers since they don''t have NVG. only the DMR works, and douchebag snipers prefer the bigger ones.
-
Even then, my point about.45 and AKs is still valid: That balance is bullcrap.
-
Exactly. And it's still easy to abuse the system on slow in buildings anyway. I don't think I ever shot a running zed that I had personally aggro'd, simply because: 1 it's a waste of ammo; 2: There is a high chance to be hit one and bleed out. When chased by zeds, run like hell to a building, and either lose them or pop'em. Now it's the head. Did the guys that made the balancing have any knowledge about weapons? Shotguns have great damage over quite good range compared to what games tend to represent them to be, AK-74s aren't weaker than M16/4 by any margin, an .45 rounds are much more powerful than 9mm. They even made the PP-19 completely useless.
