Does anyone have smooth gameplay?
Richard III in Leicester replied to WILLYumD's topic in Troubleshooting
With that system you shouldn't find any issue running the game five times at once!!! I haven't crossfired my board yet - did you find a big frame increase when you did? Might buy another graphics card. I get some minus 30fps in certain city locations as most do but the rest of the time im around 60 no problem. I'm on AMD Phenom II quadcore @ 3.9GHz 790GX motherboard XFX HD7870 2GB 8GB RAM Win 7 Ultimate OP you've got 120 840 evo in your sig, I've just installed one of those to my system and have put DayZ onto it - haven't been on DayZ since tho. Did you find it much faster with it on your SSD? (If it is.) -
Corpses should stay longer (which I hope will return anyway when server side optimisation develops) and I'd like the flies to be in the standalone as well, like the mod. But no to any kind of arcade game markers. UNLESS we get an ability to craft them ourselves if n when we find corpses. Also killers can already leave notes on the corpse if they want to leave a calling card.

I agree, I'm friendly unless threatened and if I saw you I'd shoot on sight cos you look like trouble! Sorry! :D Also someone said screwdriver has no use, what about opening cans? It does that doesn't it? Used to. Until she has a can opener that's a lifeline. And injection vial can be used/drunk(?) to clean wounds if n when she gets hurt. Helps towards healing. Tho maybe isn't exactly a necessity at this time. I still carry one.

That's so true ! ! Haha

Yes don't play low pop it will grow stale fast. The more dangerous the better, surviving through gunfights, stealthing when you know others are nearby, being terrified to go past that tall fence you can see ahead - for fear that someone might be around the corner - but doing it anyway, challenging yourself and surviving... Those are the things that make DayZ. Just always have an exit plan if you're in a town and come under attack, always know where to head to to get safe and find high ground and leggit if you need to, and always remember that if you come under fire zig zagging will get you out of there if you have nowhere to hide. NEVER go prone tho if you're being shot at. Just makes you an easy taget.

I agree with Frosti ! - Get the hell out of Zelenogorsk if you like your gear! Also do what I do, try not to look like a military God like everybody else. That way you may still have your fav gun, full ammo box, all the meds full map etc but don't make yourself an instant target by looking like a killer. The more 'survivory' you look the less likely you are to be chased I think. Seems to work for me anyway. PS I'm not saying wear a pink jumper and sandals or anything daft, just not the obvious ttsko stuff...

Bicycle Suggestions/Discussion [Official]
Richard III in Leicester replied to ianaconda's topic in Suggestions
Yes, that's right. They'll do it properly in the standalone I'm sure. New valves might be a bit too far, but inner tubes would be a necessary thing to replace so I bet they put them in too, and a pump. -

Yes to rollerblades ! I would laugh my arse off if I saw someone zip by one some skates ! Haha Next they'll be implementing skateboards and we'll all be talking about which rails we like grinding the most. -
Bicycle Suggestions/Discussion [Official]
Richard III in Leicester replied to ianaconda's topic in Suggestions
Both, to answer your question of the mod. Plus I'm pretty sure there will be motocycles as well and bicycles in the standalone eventually. Shooting one handed from a bike would be nice ! -
hoping to upgrade my cpu
Richard III in Leicester replied to nocamp's topic in Technology/Programming
Yeah that processor should be fine, I'd get a better GPU as well though if I were you I doubt that one can handle the game. -

Welcome to DayZ. You're not a good searcher I guess. This has been done before, bikes are on the development roadmap. They were in the mod and included fixing wheels and the frame as well. -
Ain't got me yet ;)

Small raised shacks now spawning items!

Yeah I found a tin of peaches in one earlier! -
Whoa my biggest shame in SA is something almost the same except I was watching someone in the industrial/bus park North West of Lopatino! I was tucked away in the trees with an ACOG watching the some going through the garages. Didn't mean him any harm so I sat still for a a minute or two and watched to see which way they might be going as you do.... Then to my astonishment I hear a yelp of pain very closeby to my left, I spin around, take a few steps and there's what looks to me like someone logging in - who is either wounded or even has a broken leg and is making those moaning sounds we all hear from time to time. I give him a few moments and approach, as I get closer I'm thinking just say hello etc - I was behind him so felt safe enough.. But as I neared he drops to prone and starts turning and moving and it unnerved me so much I put I round in the poor fellas head! Didn't plan on doing that at all.... That poor guy must have thought "I'm in the woods, away from trouble spots, can't possibly be in danger logging back in.." And there's me, and a 5.56 with his name on it. I apologise humbly to that player - if ever he reads this.

Helicopter crash site question

The one above Stary is one I've found and the one NW of Lopatino. . . Keep looking ;) Good luck! -
Can you hunt rabbits now?
Richard III in Leicester replied to ColonelBurton's topic in General Discussion
"Shhh. Be vewy vewy quiet, I'm hunting wabbits" I've shot a few in the SA but haven't been able to get any meat from them yet. They were the best meat source in the mod though. By best I mean most blood regain per bit of cooked rabbit you ate, though a big fat cow gave more meat. -
I give up. Please help!

Have you ran Arma2 as admin at least once first, and Arma2 OA as admin at least once? I seem to remember you have to do that for it to make certain necessary files. -
Vehicles & how I think they should work ingame
Richard III in Leicester replied to archamedes's topic in General Discussion
Mod didn't have any militarised vehicles in it.... The mod actually made by rocket I mean. Epoch and all the other spinoffs or the team deathmatch private hives had military everywhere but you can't blame DayZ for that, they were just in the game files from ArmA2 and so on. But as for your basic point of 'please no military madness in the standalone', I fully agree. Bikes, handcarts for railways and some Ladas be all we need ;) Lets go. Edit - I forgot the mod did have the Huey and the Mi. But I never thought they were out of place. -
confirmed new stuff in exp. 46.
Richard III in Leicester replied to Lauch's topic in General Discussion
Yes mate, they certainly are! But then they'd only waste double the massive amount of cash they already throw at digging up the roads anyway haha ! As for grenades and launchers, I was thinking of a way to get campers out of buildings and also for if and when they add wandering hoards of zombies or something like that. Would be ace to lob a grenade into a herd and watch them all fly ;) -

Demolition purposes ;) -
Hey - hive five to another Lopatino dweller ;) you must be a highly intelligent fellow like myself heheh I wanted to say I love that they've done this. I've been using an M4 since I started and I'm too attached to it now to swap it (I know, second rule of DayZ don't get attached to your gear; but I have...). Plus I like the challenge. I think spawning the US/Nato things at heli crashes only is a great touch, it makes good sense with the game lore and I love it because it's given me a new purpose in the game. I'm down to my last 29 rounds now and I've been looking for ammo all over. It's how it should be for all primary weapons I think. Finding 3 M4s at one crash isn't too excessive I guess as the sites are very rare. I haven't found one yet and I've been looking for the past 2-3 days (lucky you who found one close to home!) I've ran SE towards Stary and looked around all the old mod areas where crashsites would usually be found but haven't seen one yet. I know there is a static crashed heli in the ruined village (Kumyrna isn't it called?) so that's where I'm going to next. Hopefully that will have some 5.56..... I made it to Zub castle last night as it got dark and I logged. Fingers crossed I'll hit the jackpot this evening.

New to SA played Mod for two years. Got some questions.
Richard III in Leicester replied to chrithu's topic in New Player Discussion
Have you got post processing on? If so, go to vid options and then exit vid options. There was an old bug that sometimes the blur doesn't go away even when healthy if you've got post processing on. And to fix it you just went to your vid options and it cleared up. -
Endless running - stamina/fatigue?
Richard III in Leicester replied to brazorf's topic in Suggestions
Were you there from day 1 of the standalone? Because it was very much like you're saying, to the point where you'd die if you kept running and ignoring the warning signs of exhaustion from constant running. But I think at the moment that function is turned off, maybe because there are no vehicles and because so many bambis bitched about not being able to run continually. Hopefully realism will make a return when the game develops further.
