The very first kill. Do you remember yours?
Richard III in Leicester replied to skoms's topic in General Discussion

Looks good to me, I agree with the pros and cons, I'm thinking maybe not so far North though, just South of Berezino I'd say should be the most Northerly spawn. Which I know is just like it was in the mod lol. But without the Balota spawn. Also add a 1 in 50 chance of spawning on Skalisty Island. Just, you know, for the lulz (it definitely wouldn't be camped!) :D

Zombie attack eventaully leading to becoming a zombie?
Richard III in Leicester replied to SirGaryColeman's topic in Suggestions
I do like the idea of this though, or your corpse comes back as the standard AI zed, but with your gear on it still. If you found one of those zombies hobbling around it'd be a bonus! -
Animations have all stopped working?
Richard III in Leicester replied to Babypuke's topic in Troubleshooting
I've been getting this sometimes lately. Don't know exactly what it is or how to fix it but it seems to be latency/desync related to me. Last time it happened to me I couldn't jump back over the fence I'd just hopped over to get some water. I sat and waited but then got booted by battleye for client not responding. When I logged back in I was bleeding! So there must have been a zed having a nice snack while I was daydreaming in desync! -
Items and gameplay looking bad with good settings
Richard III in Leicester replied to Blaster271's topic in Troubleshooting
Yeah check the screen res, I think if it goes to windowed mode it lowers your res and then it sticks with the lowered res once you go full screen again.... Put it back up to 100% and it should be fixed. -

(First time I've posted screenshots so I apologise in advance if I FAIL) But this guy - he deemed screenshotting a necessity. Look at his happy face... -
Color degradation from blood loss has to go (loss of visual fidelity)
Richard III in Leicester replied to alleycat's topic in General Discussion
Little peculiar perhaps.... ;) kidding. Do either of the parts sulk often? Or just refuse to play after yet another falling out? Hehe. -

Can't walk, fall on ground?!
Richard III in Leicester replied to Desert89's topic in Troubleshooting
Lol. What's the last landmark you remember seeing? If anything.... Might be able to help you find your bearings. Otherwise run towards the sun and you'll be heading S-SE. Should get you back towards (ex)civilisation. -
Color degradation from blood loss has to go (loss of visual fidelity)
Richard III in Leicester replied to alleycat's topic in General Discussion
I was going to say exactly what Karmaterror has said. Glad I read through some more posts before doing so. Though on my game it starts blurry everytime I load up, not after healing. I press escape, config > video and it becomes clear again. I think it might be a bug to do with AMD/ATI cards... Only because friends of mine that use Nvidia don't experience this, but I do and I've got AMD. Hopefully this might help because I've never seen the game as blurry as in your screenshot - only when the bug I mention happens. Also FXAA sharp filter might help? Makes everything a lot sharper imo, and put post processing low or very low to lose the motion blur (personal preference). -
HELP! I can't seem to see my gun in DAY Z SA
Richard III in Leicester replied to MEGAJIMZ's topic in New Player Discussion
Or tap and hold right mouse to aim down the sights and hold your breath to steady your aim. -
My first big experience of SA; Spawned SW of Balota, made my way to the camp just south of the airstrip and proceeded to check the tents (there's lots of them now!). Found all sorts, came out with plenty of gear and a selection of optics for the M4 and 3 mags !! Was well chuffed. Stalked across the East tip of the airstrip and was going to head North when I heard shots to my left. I stopped to take cover and saw two players further down the strip running towards the hangars. Decided to leave them to it and turn North but before I did I spotted someone else, in the bushes, running my direction with a military outfit and M4... I waited, he approached, I took cover behind a tree thinking he might not have seen me. He kept running, closer, closer, in the end I lost my nerve and fired towards him. He returned fire immediately but then stopped. Unsure if I'd been hit or not, I backed off East and then circled N-NW a ways. After a tense wait I thought he must be dead or has legged it. Went cautiously towards the scramble but as I approached so did two other players from North. I stopped and watched them - curiosity burning. I looped a little further W, and then came across the body of a player, completely looted naked. Thought to myself those two I just saw did this. Ran back and what do you know? They're there across the other side of the strip - looting a corpse. Possibly the corpse of the guy I fired upon before!? I lined up and shot one down where he knelt. His buddy was in a bush not far away. Firefight ensued and I must have taken a hit because my bloodied gear was ruined afterwards but I took that guy down too. Now I had 3 corpses to go loot and replace (hopefully) the broken kit I now had. THEN whilst looting; 3 others, who seemed to all be strangers to each other, ran from different directions towards me! Maybe they thought I was a corpse as well because I was prone and still. They all decided the middle of the airstrip was a great place for a melee - to my amusement. After one of them pulled a pistol and got the others down I scoped in on him and took him out as well. So many bodies now! I filled my boots. And my pockets and my jacket and my backpack. Lol. Happy. Saw another player as I left the scene and told him where to find the corpses that still had a lot of gear on them.. Finally got the f**k out of there and headed North feeling like a pro - hoping to survive long enough to fix my wounds. Sadly it didn't last though, I fell down unconscious maybe a kilometre or two further North. Looking back now it might have paid me to use some antibiotics or alcohol tincture to help my wounds heal. But I didn't know that then. Fairly sure it was the wounds I'd sustained that finished me off. But every DayZ death is a learning experience! ;)

How difficult should it be?

This. Basically said what I wanted to say. -

Yes! I loved the Namalsk map something along those lines past the North of the current map would be a very nice addition. Maybe only accessible by a couple of roads in but then opening up once you're up onto the high plain plateau, with the wind howling and the temperature freezing. The occassional S.T.A.L.K.ER bloodsucker maybe thrown in too like in the mod ;) -

Richard III in Leicester replied to VuRaL's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yes, I've thought that myself. The freedom of completely making what you want out of the game, coupled with the danger of being able to lose everything in an instant is very UO (pre EA). DayZ is the first game I've played since that has the same feeling. -
I'm playing it on an old Phenom II quad core at 4Ghz, it runs plenty above 30fps. What gpu have you got? Must be something not quite right somewhere because that processor should run it easily.

Killed by a Bug, No more playing for me.
Richard III in Leicester replied to Darkshader's topic in General Discussion
Please don't be too offended by what I'm about to say, (although you seem by your post to be one who would be) but ffs stop being such a baby. You lost your pixels, so what it happens get over it. Don't play DayZ if you can't handle your character dying from a glitch. How are you gonna act in the future when the game has a lot more content and you die from something else? There'll be much more to lose then. This is just a test and dying will happen a lot. Don't let it bother you. You said you had some amazing time playing so why let a bug on a ladder bother you. Just start again, maybe even try to run back to where you were to get the gear on the corpse before the next server restart. I've done that many times playing the mod. -

psychological effects of banditry

True, and a play style that is necessary to the game as a whole experience. -
psychological effects of banditry
Richard III in Leicester replied to SpetsnazGRU (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Though I guess it can't be something that takes over any of the gameplay of the person playing bandit. They'd all hate that and complain too much. Maybe on the hardcore servers they've mentioned adding it could be something they put into those. -

Richard III in Leicester replied to SpetsnazGRU (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I'm with you especially the final sentence. I'm not sure how they'd implement it or if the shaking hands & screen effect thing would work but I agree there's probably something that should change in a character with many murders. -
Stupid is as stupid does, Bubba.

Don't get it either....
