    Gameplay vs Realism

I just want to go on record saying that I have never broken my legs in the SA... yet. I couldn't just do it on accident, I would have either get shot or try. There's a certain level of adrenaline you get when faced with a real person in a simulator that is trying to be as real as possible. Dying in DayZ is not like dying in CoD or BF where you just wait through a timer and get a loadout. You have to work for your gear. The adrenaline is comparable to getting a high kill streak, but suspense and tension add to this because that's your hard earned gear. In DayZ, the human element is a lot stronger as often the only monsters you are faced with are real people trying to survive in real conditions. If you want a game that focuses more on game-play than realism, try the old mod. DayZ is paving the way towards an MMO Survival Horror Sim, Not an FPS Survival Competition Match-Maker. More guns and less realism is not going to make anyone happy. Removing features for the sake of catering to people that don't like them when a majority have come to appreciate the feature isnt either. TL;DR No offense, but to me this seems less of a suggestion and more of a complaint.

    Reworked magazine loading

Out of all the crazy ass shit on this subforum, this looks like it would be the first thing to be polished and worked on. Not to say your idea is far fetched, I mean shit, there is already a sound for it loading in. There just needs to be an actual animation, much like with food as you said, where the clips is put into your hands automatically as soon as you drag the ammo over, like food is when you consume it, but instead of pinching beans out of a can you are pinching bullets into the clip. In no way am I suggesting that you use the same or reverse animation for loading mags as you do eating, just that the movements would look similar and could be based off the current eating animation. Beans to that.

Also wringing out clothes when they are wet would be useful.

I think that there should be a return of the morality system but less subtle. Some ideas for identifying players and their morality(Based on DayZ Doodle Rants by Spaztasm A.K.A. ShitPete): I.Names -Names would appear either over the player's head or in a corner of the screen -Would only appear if the player was unmasked or had no facewear -A tint could be applied to the text to show moral standing. Blue for Good, Red for Bad, White for Neutral. Green for Friend (Journal) -More or less intense based on humanity level - Masks would produce Blurred, Cut off, or pixelated name but would still give off Tint -Text in Direct Chat would also have these colors. II. Aura -Simple, low opacity Aura around edge of screen or around player in direct view -Previous Colors used -More or less intense based on humanity level -Possibly weapons with high amounts of kills could retain slight aura. III. Journal -Starting booklet that records players look, names, and humanity status. - Recorded players can be added to a friends list to change their Aura and/or text color. -Could also display personal info such as kills, injuries, and even have personal player written info. -Journal based UI as in current mod version. I also came up with an idea for a dedicated diagnostics button which, when pressed, will display and/or record status effects to the players journal, corner of screen, and Inventory screen. The player would do a full body pat-down to check for injuries or wet clothing, would cough to check for infections (would wheeze if present), and would also indicate humanity. More obvious status effects such as hunger, thirst, and bleeding would automatically be recorded. A new UI could be implemented where certain body parts could be selected and treated and could also show friends bodies and treatment options. A last thought, the Diagnostics Button could be used to identify players by the above mentioned methods and these methods could be toggled in options like this. [ ] Player Auras [ ] Player Names Thank you for reading my far-fetched ideas.

Aradia's Playstyle Poll: Featuring TOOOOOONS of Options!

My friends and I enjoy class play, I am a Combat Medic, my friend provides Over-watch with a sniper, my other friend Scavenges for supplies and the last person Guards the scavenger and clears out areas acting as Point Man. I usually stick to the sniper as to guard him from zombotrons and uppity G.I, Joes. As soon as Binoculars are added I will add spotting to my list. We operate on Skype in two calls and use radios to communicate between pairs. If we are out of range we just PM each other on steam. Rules for engagement for players is: If Over-Watch spots first, avoid unless impossible If not detected (ie. Camping, Hiding, Sniping), we try to allocate suspect and eliminate. If we sustain injuries we GTFO. We GTFO if injuries and/or casualties are sustained irreguardless, but this is usually when it happens. If ground units spot unarmed/friendly player, keep guns posted until we clear the area. Unload on aware shooters. Incapacitate and/Or handcuff Unaware shooter (Amphibia S to legs or head insures knock out or broken legs with not much damage to health or supplies) Captured bandits and KOS'ers are relieved of ammo and knocked out, bandaged, then uncuffed (if handcuffed) and left alive If the person has killed a squadmate then they are Court Marshaled in the nude or fed to zeds. Zeds are avoided or Melee'd if unavoidable. Shooting Zeds is last resort Also, a strategy that seems to work well on me is Trickery (ie. Let's trade *BANG*,Friendly-Friendly-Friendly-I'm a Friendly Friend *BANG*, or my favorite "Let's team up and go to NWAF" halfway there *BANG*) Packmuleing and killing upon destination is also a classic act of trickery. P.S. We stay FAR the F*CK away from Balota. TL;DR- Main Strategy Additions : Trickery/ Elaborate Ruse What do you see yourself as? Additions: Scavenger, Sniper/Over-Watch/Scout, Point-man.

Low Fps with somewhat of a high end computer

This worked for me in SA. http://youtu.be/NuUhTgCVxS8 If you could find Arma 2 or Arma 2 OA in the list then perhaps you could do the same for it.

    Crash to destkop, game minimizes

GTX 550 Reporting the same problem. I recently re-installed my OS due to some malware when previously I was using old Nvidia 500 series drivers. However, the latest update was released during my downtime so it's either the driver or the update. I don't really like the idea of losing in game elements like tool tips for a quick fix (-FLUSH) that may not work. For now I am reverting to some older drivers in hopes that the problem at least decreases in frequency. I'll try to keep you guys posted.

How do you find out your GUID?

As soon as you join a server there will be a very long code in red lettering, it will be a combination of letters and numbers. This is your GUID, you may need to join the server more than once in order to write it down because it fades away very quickly.
