  1. Love the game, cant wait until its all done, Just wish there was more news and/or info, on what is happening with the infected. Considering it is a game based around the infected, would love to see what loving is happening to them. Keep up the good work!

    Yes, what a lot of people don't know, because there is no sound for it, is that your M4 can be single shot or fully auto with a press of a button.

    That's the whole point, either find a master place from which to do your "pvping" from, so that your enemies get the zombies and not you, or learn some trigger control ;)

    Iam guessing most of the folks which are complaining about the "Infected" and want them to be slow, have not yet played the MOD from which this game came from and is based. THEY were always ment to be fast and aggressive. I will say it one more time. WATCH Dean Hall, HE is watching 28 days later to show the team what he wanted in the "infected". Then he did the fast running infected animations for the MOCAP. YOU can kill them without a head shot because they are "infected humans" not Dead shambling zombies...if you want the slow type of zombies in a sandbox survival, there is a few out there doing it. BUt you wont find romero or the walking dead style world with the dayz standalone or the dayz mod. Deadn has stated many times he uses the word "zombie" loosely but he has always wanted them more like the infected humans of 28 days later . YOu will either have to wait for someone to do that very well in a game,the walking dead style world which would be amazing if done right, or wait for some kind of mod to be made in a year or so of this game. Until then, try State of Decay or dead rising 3, they do slow zombies pretty damn well :)

    you can have romero style walkers zombies in state of decay. One of the best sandbox zombie games ever. you have all the dead Risings which have walkers. you have the undead mod for arma2, which was out before dayz, which have walkers if you choose or fast ones, you have breaking point for arma3 which are walkers. With one simple mod, you can turn Dead Island into walkers and romero world. you have project zomboid which you can set to both. More if you include ubisofts zombie U, which I have been told may come to pc, and then later this year you have dying light which have walkers and runners! and you say no zombie sandbox games that have walkers??!! , shame on you sir ;)

    They actually run just as fast or faster in the mod, so the infected in dayz have always been this fast. IN the mod, they are right on your heels until you loose em or deal with them. THAT is how they are in the mod, that's how they are in dayz standalone. As they should be. Best get used to it, or perish ;) (watch Dean Hall making the animations for them, he is watching 28 days later then getting the MO-CAP done, it has always been his intention to have fast "infected humans" not slow walking zombies. There is plenty of games that do that already :)

    they are infected humans, think 28 days later, not shambling dead bastards...so yeah, they could catch a fully rested and energized person. then beat the living crap out of them, simply because they don't know fatigue or pain at all. I think the infected in dayz are great now, and with the spawn and clipping fixed over the next year or so, THEY will be a real threat as they should always be.

    If you watch Rocket's MO-CAP vids, he is actually watching 28 days later for all his inspirations in dayz. He wanted to go down the infected "Living humans" route, hence you can take them down without heads shots and they can run. Romero in one of his longest interviews from the specials edition of "Dawn of the dead" spoke about how he felt, true dead people "zombies" should never be able to run and require the head or brain to be taken out. IAM with both of these ideas. I think dayz is perfectly suited for the infected as it stands. although I have always thought about adding slow zombies, but many more of them, into a mod.
