    Nastiest Thing You've Done

On a fresh start; I found a makarov and one clip. Saw some guy with some gear (a rifle and alice pack), snuck up behind him and unloaded a full clip in him.. still standing, but he yields and I have no ammo left. "don't shoot, don't shoot!" he says, obviously i can't, but i proceed to mug him anyway. He drops his rifle and gear, so i tell him to turn around and run (with his lifeforce pouring away). I pick up the rifle and place a careful shot into his back while hes about halfway through a field. I slept well that night.

Hand slots, Belt usage, weaponry and concealed weapons! Dayz Standalone

Haha, yeah its pretty ridiculous. With the concealed weapons thing; I posted on another topic to do with the option of binding/capturing players, that the concealed weapons would be great with 'being captured'. For example if you're bound with rope then you can pull out a concealed knife and cut it, or if you've been mugged by a player and they let you live; you could pull out the same knife or a pistol and get revenge. Essentially it could be a slot for an item you dont want to lose, though the choice may help or hinder you.

    Gagging and Binding

I like this idea. I've read some other posts about this that bring handcuffs and zipties into it and I'm not into that ;). I think only being able to use rope for this and having a chance to 'slip' the rope, if you're the one bound, would help balance it a bit. Concealed weapons! If you had a knife hidden away then you could cut the rope instantly and take the lives of those that would attempt such mockery. Also, players who get captured are pretty much dead and looted already. So if you were to log out; it could leave a model of your "passed out" character, that could be hauled around and/or murdered/left.
  4. Just a few ideas for the Standalone game! Hand slots. Basically (in real life) some items are too large to fit in your backpack; like the big jerry can, so these would need to be carried in one hand, limiting your weapons usage to one handed weapons i.e. pistols/hatchets. This also opens up the idea that you could carry extra bags for those big hauls, like a dufflebag full of car parts, weapons or medical supplies Use of belts that have extra 'active' slots. So you have your primary and secondary weapons, occupied by a rifle and a bat, with the belt slot you can have a pistol tucked down the back (or front if you're the daring sort) that can pulled out on a moments notice. Or a flash-light, tools, knife etc. Belts would come in regular, tool and holster flavours! I can't say, in terms of immersion/realism, that I'm fond of a minecraft style hotkey bar. Though I'm not sure if that's limited to items, not weapons. Anything you can pick up can be used as a melee weapon and/or thrown. (Read in Brian Blessed's voice) No bullets in your rifle? Use the stock of the rifle to smash their faces into a bloody mush. All you have is a flash-light? Break it over their skulls in glorious fervour! Reflect on the usefulness of cinder-blocks and other useless bits as they hurtle their way towards your foe. Some weapons can be 'concealed'. In the case of the aforementioned “belt” slot; you could hide certain weapons, giving you an edge against the muggings and deception that the wasteland has seen. :D

    DayZ Standalone Forum Best Ideas

First post. Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but i'd like to see heavier items, such as the 'large jerry can', being carried in one hand and the option to 'carry' backpacks/duffle bags while you're wearing one (you can only use your sidearm while these are in effect). Imagine; you and your friend are traversing the wastelands. You have a jerry can in one hand and a pistol in the other, your friend has a duffle bag full of scrap metal and car parts. Running low on ammo, you're both trying to find a car to fix up and use to escape the nearby zombie horde! Could be pretty fun for immersion. You might also find these two running along and snipe the jerry can blowing them both up... If you're into that. :bandit:
