It did at one point, but I'm actually not sure if it still does. When it did, you could just change your name back to whatever it was before to get your old character back.

This game is in Alpha. More guns will be added later. It is stated several times when buying and starting up the game that this game is not fully developed.

There's no difference between footwear yet.
