After almost a month and several experimental updates, it has become time of a new changelog: Update 31 - 0.47.124641 - Stable Title: Changelog - 0.47.124641Author: Posted: 30 July 2014Last edited: not editedAdditional Info: Includes all changes since update 0.47.124523It has become obvious that changelogs are only provided for the stable updates for some time past. Nevertheless, I will continue to mention every update in this list and will try to present and link as much information about the changes (and sources) as possible and as my time lets me find. Update 29 - 0.47.124594 - Experimental Title: (no changelog yet) | barnabus made a brief summary in the related discussion of what he'd found new so farAuthor: (no changelog yet)Posted: (update provided 18 July 2014)Last editor: not editedAdditional Info: All players should reset their controls to DayZ default according to Peter Nespesny in this post. So far, it seems to be confirmed that freezes are of the past. The "new town" seems to be spawning loot now. There are some new guns like the AK 101, PM73 and *yey* the Makarov. Who does not remember that from the mod... ;) Have a nice Play! Johnny ---------- All DayZ changelogs on top of page 1

    All DayZ Standalone changelogs

Hello fellow survivors, I waited patiently for a changelog, but unfortunately none was given (yet). So I took what there is and linked the discussion where players started talking about this latest update. Update 28 - 0.47.124558 - Experimental Title: Brief collection by basinox | (discussion starts about here since no changelog has been provided yet)Author: basinoxPosted: 11 July 2014 - 6:11 PM (update provided 11 July 2014)Last editor: not editedAccording to the images linked in this post, night has been lightened up a bit, but take this carefully since there's no mentioning of graphics configuration whatsoever. Another thing is the new zombie pathfinding which you can see a good example of here, but only few players really recognize it since many seem to struggle with issues concerning hit detection and other game issues: Post 1, Post 2, Post 3 to just mention three similar player experiences. According to various posts, many players report their game freezes just after a few minutes of gameplay. We will see how this develops, if it's a wider spread problem and if a hotfix will come or not. Either way, Have a nice Play! Johnny Oh, and beware violet running shoes. :D ---------- All DayZ changelogs on top of page 1

A new update for the experimental users among us. For an experimental update it seems rather big, 401 MB, also jumping from version 0.46 to 0.47, probably because it's introducing a ragdoll model. See this post. But anyway, here's the details: Update 27 - 0.47.124523 - Experimental Title: Experimental Branch: 0.47 Discussion | (no changelog provided yet)Author: smashtPosted: 3 July 2014 - 5:23 PMLast editor: not edited---------- All DayZ changelogs on top of page 1

DayZ Arma 2 Requirement - Help

A lot of my friends still play DayZ Mod (DayZ Epoch), because of the mentioned majority of features compared to the standalone and because the standalone at its current state is intended to be for people who want to actively participate in the development process, i.e. by reporting bugs etc. in the DayZ Feedback Tracker. If you would like to play DayZ Mod, you could buy ArmA 2 Combined Operations or, if care very much about high quality textures. If you don't mind them missing too much, you could instead just buy ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead via Steam and install Arma 2 Free, typing the following command into your webbrowser: steam://install/107400 That way, you save a few bucks and pay by having no HQ textures. Honestly, I don't really care about them so I did it that way. ;-) Regards, Johnny

How often does the game get patched?

Hi there, a while ago, I started a thread with all DayZ Changelogs being pushed out since the release of DayZ Standalone. I probably didn't get them all since I didn't start the thread at the very beginning of DayZ Standalone and I just recently switched to the experimental branch, where updates are being released much more frequently. But it can give you an impression about how frequent updates are and if a changelog was provided or a discussion has been opened, you can read what has been fixed and implemented. Players tend to be very impatient about certain things getting fixed or implemented, because they don't understand how difficult seemingly easy fixes are to implement. But anyway, I recommend you to read the Early Access Important Information thread and decide then if you want to buy the game in its current state or not. Best regards, Johnny

An update for the experimental branch. Update 24 - 0.46.124463 - Experimental Title: confirmed new stuff in exp. 46. (tentative, since no changelog was provided)Author: LauchPosted: 23 June 2014 - 06:11 PM (update provided 23 June 2014)Last editor: 23 June 2014 - 10:34 PMUnfortunately, there is no changelog whatsoever, but some forum members took their time to provide some information on some obvious (visible) changes. Tents have been added to the game files, but they don't seem to be in the game yet. But this could mean, they are not so far from beeing available in the near future. According to this extact of a reddit thread, this update was primarily ment to be an anti cheat update covering item theft cheats, though 600+ MB update size speak for a lot of changes (and additions). If there should be some new information or even a changelog in the next dayz, I will of course update the list of changelogs on top of this page. Have a nice Play! Important notice for those of you who actually use the DayZ Feedback Tracker: If you have any unassigned crash reports (status "new") from before 1 June 2014, please do the following steps, because the DayZ dev team needs "freshly" generated crash dumps: Close the old crash report.Delete the content of your DayZ AppData folder at: C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\Local\DayZReproduce the crash.Reupload the content of your AppData folder, including DxDiag. If you are not playing the experimental branch, but have crash reports from before 1 June 2014 then switch to experimental, since the stable branch is currently way behind experimental. You have to generate your crash report in the latest experimental branch! Hava a nice Play! Johnny (DayZ Feedback Tracker Moderator) ---------- All DayZ changelogs on top of this page!

Since yesterday, there is a new DayZ Update on the experimental branch: Update 21 - 0.45.12499 - Experimental Title: Experimental Branch: 0.45.12499 DiscussionAuthor: smashtPosted: 21 May 2014 - 06:40 PMLast edited: not editedGranted, it's not a changelog as you or I would have expected, but it's something. Love How Everyone Is An Expert

Somebody once said: "The expert knows more and more about less and less until he knows everything about nothing." - Mahatma Gandhi I totally agree with that quoted statement! Of course, we can only tell from what we see and hear. But why is it, people are so unpatient? Not long ago, I didn't know anything about software development - I wasn't even interested. But now, as a software developer (and gamer) I had become, I know how difficult to implement seemingly simple changes are. But that never changed anything about my patience, only my reasoning. And by the way: With these words, cheers! :D Johnny

no such thing as friendly lol

I like that part, even though I don't know what you mean by "Everybody walk the dinosaur". XD But yeah, being friendly is probably the closest to russian roullette, you can get in DayZ. Nevertheless, I'm not too frustrated yet to start KOSing around, because if I'd behave like those I hate so much in that game, I'd be not a bit better. So I stay with my principles hoping some people out there do not pull the trigger out of paranoia.

Have people in this game gone insane?

Can't agree. Mostly, because I make the distinction between "Shooter" and "Military Simulator" like Arma, DayZ is based upon. Partly agreed. DayZ is/was intended to be a zombie survival game. But the players made it sort of an "Arma Wasteland with Zombies", because they had too many possibilities to do so, meaning they didn't have to worry about starving and they had too much too powerful gear. So what do you do when you find a nice sniper rifle? You want to shoot it, no matter what!
  22. Heeeere's johnny!

Have people in this game gone insane?

Well, considering your touch of irony, this is not ment personally, but only for the record and general readers: Questioning the purpose of scavenging and looting is very close to questioning the meaning of DayZ which would lead to the "Y R U Playin' this?" question. I know, DayZ SA does not provide much compared to Origins or Epoch (Mod), but at many places, many persons have stated many times "DON'T BUY THIS GAME IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DEVELOPMENT!!!". It's an alpha for a reason, but most players just don't realized it, not even now. And I can't understand that ignorance which a lot of people seem to have. Or how would someone explain 1.9 million Alpha sales?

    Mountain Pack vs. Hunting Pack

For reasons already mentioned: Definitely Hunting Backpack. It's way better disguised and those 5 slots don't make a difference, once you are fed and hydrated. Going from town to town and you'll allways something to eat, drink and shoot. And seriously, how often has anyone ever needed more than 120 rounds (two 60rnd mags) before dying or killing the opponent?
  24. Heeeere's johnny!

Have people in this game gone insane?

I (luckily) haven't made the experience of kids, overexaggeratedly yelling crap at me. But I consider it a problem too that kids sounding like 12 or so, play this game. Not because they are playing it, but because they don't know how to play it. Now and then I've been in the same TS channel as some kids and my over all conclusion is that they consider DayZ as just another shooter. They play this game as if it was a light version of CoD. Some of them didn't even care about scavanging as soon as they find their first weapon. Seriously? Why waste your time searching for a weapon just to kill players? Playing Arma MP or shooters makes it way easier and does not annoy players like me who want to actually enjoy the whole array of DayZ.

The rarest sh*t I ever found

LOL, I guess I should play a bit again. I haven't found one of these Anti-Stab vests or Riders Jackets yet. The rarest sh*t I found so far is still the long range scope though this does not seem to count as rare anymore from what I hear...
