    I understand what your saying but i dont think if you want to commit suicide it shouldn't be hit a button in the menu you should go find a gun or a axe and hit/shoot your self in the head with it and also break your own limbs. Reason i sugesst this is because firstly rocket has stated he doesnt want to force the player to do stuff in a linear path he wants the player to do what they want. Now what if that player wants to breaks his arms and legs for whatever reason and i can think of a few he should. The player should be able to do what other players can do to the player!

    There shouldn't be a suicide button on the menu because like you said whiny fuckers can kill themselves if they dont get a spawn they want. For self harm to work you would need a weapon first so you would probably need to travel 3km to find one because you wont start of with a weapon like the mod. Also your missing the point of why not give the player the options in this controllability of there weapon? If there was a real appolcyse people would blow there brains out and it could be a immersive feature in the game and could help with the role playing part that some people like when they get kidnapped etc.

    Suggestion for killing on sight

    The only way i can see teaming up working and encouraging people not to kill on sight if the game was alot harder and if there is a bigger reward for pve. Lastly if you grouped up with people then they cant kill with friendly fire so you have there 100% trust. This ofc would never work in dayz so even if standalone comes out it's still gonna be kill on sight unless you meet nice people.

    Reason why! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k80j4_hwU6E Lol never knew so many people hated this weapon but its very reliable watch this a fps russia vid of the weapon in real life but this gun would combat the features in standalone reliability and durability. Ok the movie was a joke i linked =P. But people say its too overpowerd your playing on a 225 km2 map not some arena style cod map. The likleliness of encountering some one with it is very slim if its a very rare weapon, Remove HE rounds and its just slugs and buckshot at 300 rpm 32, 20 or even 8 round magazine and its not very accruate the max effictive range would be like 100 yards tops. But imo at close range all shotguns should be a force not to be reckoned and should be dominant in citeis. SA is haveing a new health system and wouldn't be the AA-12 everybody hates in arma2. But the use of the gun in dayz is not to constantly kill players what your used to in cod or bf. But to help you surive you would have a very reliably weapon wich is water proof and is very durable. That being said it would be a perfect zombie killer in a tight pinch and i would enjoy this weapon being in the game for end game content if the rarity of the weapon is controlled.     How to make death actually matter more

    Well i dont think the time limit on death and the not being able to loot your body would serve no purpose. Because the time limit every one would hate it and if people paid for there own server and have busy lifes and can only play a few hours a week it wouldn't work out. Not being able to loot your body wouldn't make much sense because you could just get a friend to loot it for you and give you the items. The way to combat this is to have the player spawn further away from the dead body and have a time limit on dead bodies like maybe 30-60 mins before they despawn. Lastly make the game harder so you need more supplies before you think of ventureing out and recovering your stuff.
  13. Hi your OP was very good i think it should make itself into the game but im no game dev :) For ideas for hunting well you pretty much covered everything for players useing hunting equipment. Why dont you suggeset on how you can use animals to help you hunt like dog hunting and falaconary maybe. Mention some of the tools/items that you would need like if your dog was hunting boar it could use this speical type of vest for your dog to protect it from the boars tusks and maybe gun shots.     Suggestion: Tranquilizer Gun

    I could see this working but only as a tool to what features that are put in Dayz SA. Like kidnapping people and tieing them up with rope, or if you wanted to catch animals and put them in cages etc. Also it could be a good challenge in the game against players aswell like you need to carry a antiodte with you incase a tranquilizer dart hits you. Also why not darts covered in dirty water to give the other player cloera and spread a infection maybe?
  15. Ok so say if gore and dismemberment was in dayz. Would you think somebody blowing your arm off with a AS50 then have your mate collect your arm and sew it back on with a needle and sitches be a good feature in dayz? This feature would stop 1 hiting with anti material rifles and isntead lose limbs. Butcheirng animals and humans for meat would also come from this feature. Ok my intent on suggesting bears in the game was not to have some crapy ai from red dead or farcry3 on how those animals behave and that there was progmramed just to kill the player. I suggested realistic behaviours so when you play dayz you dont have animals instantly trying to kill you but have them as a challenge because there trying to survive aswell like you and i when we play the game.     Replace 'hide body' with 'drag body'

    You should be able to pick up the body aswell so if you wanted to go further into the distance with the body and you can have your pistol out. But if you just want to move the body quickly away from the road the drag body animation is faster then picking up the body. And the pick up body could be used aswell to carry people who you have tied up with rope up also people who have broken legs or have been knocked out.

    Zombie super scent

    Firstly the marathon running is bull shit but its for gameplay so the game isnt too easy for the player when he runs off with infinite sprint. And the reason why we have infinite sprint is to travel through the huge 225 km2 map when people might only play a few hours a day on dayz. And why all zombies dont sleep because of gameplay its a horror mod and you need a threat or impression of a threat at all times. So i wouldnt question those features because i understand why there in the game and is relatable to 28 days later the film the type of zombie/infected behaviour i belive rocket wanted, fast sleepless infected. Reason i questioned your suggestion was because scent isnt in the mod now and i dont belive ive ever seen zombies/infected haveing a strong sense of smell close to dogs in any film or game. Also them being humans before and then haveing those attributes when infected seem odd. The only reason you posted this topic was because you thought scent was in the game and asking it to be stronger for zombies to detected people over great distances who are still/camping and shamble round them. Why i replied to your topic it didnt make sense for infected to have super strong sense of smell when you gave no explanation to why they have this super strong sense of smell in the OP.

    Base building in DayZ standalone

    Base building scenario of what would come if implemented into Dayz with other tools/features With instanceing in base building Im thinking of if a clan could make a thriving economy on there server involving stuff like bases aircraft, one huge ship that spawns on the map and trains. Ok so firstly this big clan sorts out the power supply and fuel required for the ship,trains and underground tradeing centre. Secuirty on the trains,ship and tradeing centre are player controlled and with Dogs. People can use a in game computer to write stuff like maybe a log of what items people entered the base with and that person collects there stuff when they leave and a tradeing database, also cctv to observe what goes on in the base and to check if people steal stuff or if they get attacked. Ok now this clan can trade with people and fix people up who are hungry,thirsty and hurt, and they trade animals,vehicles/aircraft and loot. To transport this stuff they load the stuff to train and vehicles/aircraft that are somehow connected to the tradeing centre. Now this clan delivers the goods around cherno at different docks and if SA add islands there could be docks were this huge ship can carry these goods and travel accross to these islands and also helicopters wich can airlift stuff and planes could have landing spots on these islands. Ok so thats small suggestion of a player controlled economy for severs if base building and other tools are added into Dayz the possibility are endless!

    Well if your building stuff above ground then it should be very easy for any player to remove it and should be pernament untill any player wishes to remove that object. Like for example when people blocked exists to buildings with barbwire in the mod and was a pain to remove it and you needed a toolbox it should be made much easier to remove so you dont need to hop server to enter or exist that building if you dont have a tool box or if the barbwire is glitched and unreachable. Servers should have control to remove above ground objects if problems may occur with stuff being spammed and hackers in SA etc.

    Zombie super scent

    Firstly as i am aware in the mod infected dont shamble in your direction due to smell but more coincidence. Yes i read your post i get your point that infected should slowly folo the scent of still players/campers and all gather round the player but not get alerted. But if the infected were humans before how the hell would they pick up a sent in the air of a player and shamble round him. Unless they evolved a better sense of smell when they came infected wich you could say. But as a human i doubt most people can pick up the scent in the air and somehow locate the whereabouts a person unless there covered in shit. So that my argument to your post but if you want to add some zombie lore and say infected devloped better sense of smell go for it my agrument is answered then. Otherwise its a decent idea for a deterrent to campers in high populated areas of the map.

    Well smell should be a big thing in dayz but infected are really just rabbid humans. So why would they have better smell than they already did when they wasnt infected? But maybe a players dog can sniff out a person whos camping on top of a hill and attack him also Bears and wolfs could do aswell but instead kill him and eat him. But infected shouldnt have that strong of a sense of smell they should mainly use there eyes and ears like we do to detected players since they was human before and didnt evolve super sense of smell.
  24. Well handcuffs are a joke ive posted saying that he should remove handcuffs from the OP for balancing. Also straight jackets shouldnt need a key only another player to free you but like you said cannot be broken out of requires a friend. So if it was just rope and straight jackets would be simpler and better for balancing.
