I had ghillie suit. Made me spawn once on coast (rather than our camp up north with vehicles and tents). Besides that worked nice, helped me kill couple guys in firefight with gps+nvg+coyotebacpack+weaponofchoice dudes by down there in south after that suprise spawn. Melted in the surroundings too well for em to spot even though other had L85 Thermal. Ended up dying though when looting their corpses, guess they had friend nearby sniping cherno or elektro. (They hid my body so all gear gone. Respect and pvp sportmanship doesn't exist when its mostly just anonymous behaviour.)

I have GPU=6950x2, CPU=i5 2500k. Why can't I run this game well?

Turn off Anti-Aliasing and Post Processing and make sure HDR is Normal. Turn terrain detail low. AF can be quite high. Shadows either disabled (most FPS boost) or High or Very High (GPU does the job then). Use SMAA instead of antialiasing. So try for example these: PPAA=<3>; PPAA_Level=<2>; Arma 2 is very CPU heavy game so having quadcore system with 3ghz+ really helps. It can also help if you set Arma2 priority to High from Task Manager, just press "Show all processes from all users". -
Decided to play around with some sounds through VON/VOIP that people can hear within 80m. Scare em, confuse em and finally unleash hell.

You could just try Arma 2 tutorials and throw as many grenades around as you want in safe enviroment where nothing is at stake. In Armory you can also practice with other weapons, like sniper rifles and such, how the aiming works and how to hit longer distance targets. Not to mention spawning bunch of vehicles in Chernarus map and trying em out, just use editor for that. There is also trick for unlocking all weapons in Arma 2 Armory, so you can try whatever you want.- 1 reply

Yesterday went to Cherno with .50cal sniper covering friend who was well geared weaponswise but needed still compass and Alice backpack. Saw player popping right near my friend at northern tall apartment buildings, was about to take the shot, when noticed no weapon, would have gone to rescue him from chasing zombies had he been closer but too far away from my sniping spot. After that 2 other survivors aproached, and the leading one had M16, so without further hesitation took the shot since it was obvious threat to us. We left the place soon after that, no point sticking around further than necessary while overgeared for place like Cherno. Anyways, shooting fresh spawns without any weaponry is cheap and lame in my opinion, id rather help em since they pose no risk while still unarmed. -

One day we lost 3x .50cal sniper rifles within like hour to bugs. One didn't fit in backpack, two others disappeared when server went under maintenance and we switched to another one (we had kept em already long before that). So yeah, fix would be nice, even if this is still alpha. -
Not sure that is very relevant to this thread. But i run the game with Texture on High (should maybe try Very High) Anisotropic Filtering on High and AA disabled but SMAA manually turned on from config file and that also High and 1920x1080 resolution. Normally the game looks pretty enough. example 1 example 2 example 3 Anyways please post more weird finds on barns.

Had similar weird find from barn lastnight. M249 Saw there with 3 ammo boxes (600 ammo). Thought it was just something left by player, but maybe... just maybe they could spawn there too if Bizon also was found.

Nice video. That Ural is real treekiller. Few tips though. When you turn steering wheel from one direction to another, let it roll long enough so you actually turn that way. In 1st person you will see how it takes a while to spin the steering wheel until you actually turn to opposite direction. Also your sniper shots were not made with holding breath, your aim was waving all over. There is button for it, bind it to some unused spot like for example TAB. -
Anyone got map where you can refuel your vehicles? I know those refueling spots look like long big round tanks. Zelenogorsk has atleast one such place next to gas station, but most other gas stations i have visited has been missing those. So looking for advice where to look em so can plan our sunday car trips to nice picnic spots better when it comes to refilling our jerrys and cars. Thanks! It is always bit risky just cruising around and stopping at every town and barn in search of those refuel spots. So why i was curious to hear exact spots so would know exactly where to drive. Yesterday we stopped by small white tank in small town, and found out that couldn't refuel on it, but our loud car attracted instead player there and i got shot. I think either me or friend put few shots at him too, since he DCed away and we kept our car. On my walking trip back there from n00b coast, i bumped into another car just sitting there waiting for me, half way my long walking trip, so suddenly getting back to my old car was going lot faster again (100 km/h on road :) ). Pretty lucky day, finding 2 cars in very visible spots in middle of the map, within 2 hours, and both ready to drive as soon as i jumped in.

Could the easiest solution be just putting OCEAN there where the treeline ends and vast plains begin? That way no need to code anything extra to it. -
Agreed, this is the major issue with vehicles atm. They are all parked ages ago outside map in some location noone without vehicles would ever wander to. Currently vehicles are used less than 95% of Day Z population for that reason. There needs to be change.

Awesomeness! Any chance of chainsaw in distant future maybe? :) Also very rare hostile animal like bear in forest, would be nice. About food, was exciting as our long trip from Elektro to NW Airfield today (was great success), was dependant on animals and their meat, and canteens and ponds. So in a way that lack of food taught us to survive even more hardcore way. So perhaps if you bring back food, make it bit more rare?

Thanks for fast hotfix Rocket. But i wish Bohemia would give you someone to help with the project, like some summer worker to abuse or something. So he/she could test your latest patches bit before release and perhaps help fix the most basic bugs, while you kept the control still of the mod. Perhaps that way we could avoid unstability of these new patches/hotfixes. After all Day Z gotten huge amount of players recently and made Arma II big seller in the process so keeping it playable would be good for everyone. Like yesterday got asked by friend if he should buy Arma II for Day Z. Had to tell him currently it is so broken he would not be able to properly play it the same day of purchase due latest patch. But told it was working fine day before and likely again in few days. Either way, he didn't wanna spend his money right at that moment to it. Word of mouth and social media hype brought the huge momentum and success to this game (besides the mod being awesome of course). In same way it can stall your profits if the word around about the mod turns instead to "don't bother it's unplayable again with latest patch". I understand this mod is still alpha, and we players are basicly your testers, but keeping it in playable state should have priority. tl;dr edition: dolan get sum gooby from Bohemia Interactive halp wit Day Z testin, customr mor hapy, dolan get mo $$$
