    DayZ Standalone?

I want to know when you think it will be released. Join us, LoK. You are one of us. One of us. One of us. One of us!

    DayZ Standalone?

You're both forgetting that this is a business, and all the days it hasn't beeen released means lost money for Dean. On the other side, of course, releasing too quickly might give the game a bad reputation, which also means lost money in the end, especially by the type of reviewers that want their games to look like some 13 year old, ADHD kid's dream, like Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Enough time has passed. If the game isn't very soon released then Dean is losing more money than he'd earn. You simply cannot keep people's hope up for very long when there's other games out there. Yes, there is. They want you to think there isn't. Yes, there is. They want you to think there isn't. Yes, there is. They want you to think there isn't. Yes, there is. They want you to think there isn't. Yes, there is. They want you to think there isn't.

Thank you, person I may never hear from again! The game will be playable as a released version on the 21st, but I am certain it will be released shortly before.

No, I do not agree. A year has already passed and the game will definitely be out on the 21st of August or before.

    DayZ Standalone?

Releasing a game is big business. First you have to work out whether you are even allowed to publish the game (political reasons), then you have to check for copyright infringement, and then you have to get it copyrighted, and then you have to pay developers to develop it, and you have to guide them since it is your game, and then you have to get the final product (alpha or full release) evaluated by whichever institutions does that, to see which age group is restricted from the game, which genre it is, whether it contains bloody scenes and so on. And a lot of more work with his publisher, Bohemia Interactive, also has to be done. And that's a lot of work. Now, since most of that has been done already, if Dean says too much but cannot live up to those promises, then he will lose people (he already has lost many). If he promises too little then people will forget about the game. There has to be a fine balance between letting people know and not letting people know.

    DayZ Standalone?

I frankly do not think it'll be released. I don't know why Gaben would choose that, since it's lost money, but he has to have his reasons.

    DayZ Standalone?

It's just a matter of guessing enough, eventually you'll have to guess right. We can definitely narrow down the release data between 2013 31-07 and 2020

    DayZ Standalone?

It will be released on the 1st of August or the 21st of August. If not the 1st of August then necessarily the 21st, since that date is scheduled to release it to the public for Bohemia. Get out of here. RIGHT NOW! You are a disgrace to this whole forum. Dean Hall must be turning in his bed in his 20 million dollar castle in Australia, reading this stupidity. Oh Lord, Dean Hall, do not forsake humanity because of one of us being rotten. Great Lord of the sky, Dean Hall, show your mercy! *falls to my knees and start praying*

    Proper Terms

Too many people, especially kids, are using the term 'hacking' to denote something that is irrelevant to the meaning of this term. Hacking is a term made popular in the late 90s by individuals who would crack algorithms (hence the meaning of 'cracking') to bypass security measures (encryptions), to gain unauthorized access to clients and, or servers, remotely. Hacking does not mean to modify a program's internal code, resources, or memory, nor to cheat, to annoy, to pose a threat, or alike. Hacking is a term solely coined, in relation to computers, by individuals who break security between two platforms. Nothing more, nothing less. The reason hacking has received this new, incorrect and incoherent meaning, is because of children who, in early days of the Internet, reading about server and client security misunderstood the meaning of hacking. The kids, also referred to as script kiddies, thought of modifying a client as actually modifying the servers that communicate with the client. This misunderstanding created the meaning to hacking in relation to games. The sentence, "Peter hacked the game" is incoherent. A sentence cannot contain words with multiple suitable meanings - the sentence cannot be interpreted correctly if this is the case, unless provided a prior sentence or a preceding sentence or class of information which would clarify which interpretation would be correct. It could be taken to mean, as should be, that Peter obtained access to game servers and modified remote servers. Or it could be taken to mean, as it should not be, that Peter modified client code for the game, created cheating programs that would read, change or stall a memory function or value. The other and very faraway meaning to hacking, exactly as to hack in a piece of meat or wood with a sharp object, cannot be confused into this sentence because the very meaning of game is something abstract, therefore immaterial, unchanging and so on. If you are desperate to tell an administrator that a player has made you extremely irritated or sad, then tell the administrator that the player has a modified (or modded) client, and should be banned because of that. The more you know.
