You're possibly missing the point that this game is in very early stages of development. Things like this are rarely seen by the public, as they are in this games case. So what you see now is far from representative of what will be in the end. There is a "mod" of Arma 2 called Dayz. It has several different versions. The Standalone is basically the new version. But there is an older version that people dubbed, "vanilla dayz". If you find that mod, or videos of it or really any other older videos, you will see how accurate the weapons actually should be later in the SA game. Its one of the most difficult learning curves in games to shoot (Arma/Dayz), but as of now its broken and needs further coding and tweaking before its where it used to be and where it can be if done even better.

The mods are amazing, and if you are not willing to shell out $6 to check them out, you truly are missing out. If you have seen videos of the mods, you should understand something first: There are literally dozens upon dozens of different mods. I guarantee there is one out there for you. The vanilla mod of Dayz is basically the SA version with all the things added in they plan on adding down the road. Crossbows, fishing poles, hunting, etc. all are there to go play with and its literally the same thing you will see here later down the road. Now go do research and profit. :)

LOL. BIS trolled you.

If only the ballistics were remotely realistic.

Brand new interview. Same old response.
-
True, but its a brand new interview.. So. I. Post.

He is talking about the server host. The name of the company hosting the server is Multiplay. He is not talking about single player and multiplayer.
-
Somehow I misunderstood the title. :|
-
Are they not using scripts for the standalone? Im edit: R-word uneducated on programming so I dunno.
-
Yes, it seems like only certain STABLE official servers hosted by Multiplay are currently affected. Not all of them, so if you test it.. and "dont find anything". Then pick a different server and keep looking. This is one instance where some server hopping to "prove" something would not be so bad. You will find loot in the tents on the right servers. But please for the love of all things stop saying its a hoax or not real or questioning the 1,000's of people that have already confirmed it (im not naming anyone in here, but I have seen all over redditt and other threads where people question its validity). More than likely by this Wednesday it will be rolled out to all servers during maintenance.

This game will be a far different beast than the mods Im afraid. I relished those days, and am glad they are still there to go back to from time to time. But I am optimistic about where this game will be come final release day. If we see things like a fully developed map, 150 player servers, variable weather, zombies that are actually smart and dangerous. Along with most of the essence of what we used to have I only see things getting better. The downside for players like us is this is not all new and shiny. We have been here before, so its hard to see the forest for the trees.

No one has noticed yet what they are doing? o.O ..ill be right back Edit: The area in red is currently being developed. Some things are already in place that never existed before on the Dayz map like roads and infrastructure, that are needed prior to new towns being implemented, as well as some fully fleshed out new towns. What this all shows is an overall design to make the map a full circle if you will. Im not sure if that means eventually all of the spawns will be random along the edge of the map, or if it will remain the same. Either way Id say in the end you will finally be able to actually drive a vehicle around the entire Chernarus map without going off-road once. It would make sense to have that be the map defining "edge" and for people to spawn along it. The middle would be the only presumable place without players at any given time. And Stary and Novy are right there smack in the middle.. as is they offer enough reason to go there, but maybe they will augment that area later to attract players throughout the map more efficiently?

This all makes me wish someone out there, someone twisted.. would take Dayz and mod it into something a little more terrifying. I miss the days of feeling genuinely paranoid while playing Dayz. Would be nice to get scared a little more often.. maybe not so much for my health but my craving for excitement would sure love it :) Like the other day when I was looting the Pavlova Mil base, a zed ran around the corner out of nowhere and made its roar right in my ear at full volume. I swear I jumped about 2 feet off of my couch. It was hilarious!

I think its the most exciting shooter Ive played in a long time. I love the thrill of the hunt, and so few other games give that. I love to see someone, get close to them, and then tell them I intend to kill them or die trying. The tension that builds, and the anticipation of what could happen at any moment is just amazing. I love the epicness of ongoing firefights involving large clans and vast expanses of Chernarus terrain. Getting killed and rushing back into battle to help your mates. The laughter, the pain, the ongoing quest for more.. and not even knowing why you do it. But you come back. Why play a game for points? Or stats to gloat over? Why play for leaderboard status or achievements and trophies? Why waste your valuable time in this short breath we call life with something so meaningless as a video game? Distraction. We all crave it.

A true Marine always goes for the one shot, one kill. This is my in game motto as well. Well timed headshots save ammo and do the job without ringing the dinner bell for 150 meters around you. ;)
-
:) I like that.. and great share. My first visit there ended in my untimely death. So good call running for your life.

Dat Title.

..and then when they add in vehicles, we can haz smog? #realism
-
The curse is strong there... please for your sake do not return alone.
-
Actually, yes it is the exact and only answer. The game is still in very early stages of development... ..so go play COD or something until you can handle that idea.
-
 ..thanks for letting me know its only official servers. And for making me laugh wholeheartedly out loud at your response.

Epic truth post hurts. ;)
