YOU REALLY GOTTA GET THE GAME AND PLAY IT. Build a PC like me for it if you have too... $400-500 will get you in the game if you do not have anything to start with. ;)

The laws of physics do not seem to apply within Green Mtn.

I think we sort of misunderstood the central hive thing..
Irish. replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
That is not what I meant. ;) I used to play large, pre-planned clan matches involving 30+ players and battles lasting hours. That is what I am looking for again. -

Good for you. Myself and many of the community took it as meaning they were in essence promoting server hopping. :) -
Shouldn't zombies also bleed to death eventually?
Irish. replied to sketch814's topic in General Discussion
Dean describes them as infected.. and if they are, and you add their talks of plans to have blood trails and foot prints down the line if possible then it only makes sense that a Zed would eventually bleed out. Would be really cool to walk into a town where a sniper had previously cleared it by taking 1 shot at each zed and just watching them aggro around and bleed to death from 800m away.. There would be blood and footprints everywhere.. it would be a horrendous sight. :D -

Yeah, I cant wait for private hives that have a good community where you know what to expect... makes the experience much better. -
This is just awesome even in its early stages.. check this out and then head over to Reddit to give this guy some credit http://www.puredayz.com/map/map.html Link on Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/29m70p/the_game_of_dayz_in_streetview_work_in_progress/

Just this. Because it would make me feel like this:

LOL.. I'd love to be in a window aiming at him.. LOL.. I gotta PM him now so I can get in on this!

You dont even need them after a certain point of playing the game.. maps and compasses just become useless once you know the map like the back of your hand. But I still gotta hand it to this guy for doing this.. its amazing work. Should help a lot of newer players out

The stable servers are all down.. its usually around a 3 hour process and they went down about 25 mins ago..

Beat.Me.To.It. I was also going to say what a triumphant return .. Mr. Depth <_<

No. It is not the same in real life to take another persons life in combat. The only part that feels good is that you are alive, and so are your Brothers next to you. The rest will make you puke, not sleep right, get angry at people you love for the rest of your life, and essentially just not be happy after that for a very long time. You never really get closure with something like that. Ever. Those that have experienced it do not like to discuss it, and those that do and like to talk about it have a fucking screw loose.

More precisely is it means that they are starting to test this on the back end, in the main hive. This is the last step before implementation into the game. They will test it on their EXP TEST server that is locked for devs only, and if its good.. then we should see it in the next patch. Probably not tomorrow though.. that would still just be the data part being added. Next experimental patch if all goes well we should have tents.

DayZ is currently just a placeholder for the real DayZ. ;)

Six Upcoming Developments That Will Change DayZ for the Better - Loot Rarity (wait, whaat?)
Irish. replied to darkgritty's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, just watch what happens when they implement this to the most failed proportions. In the end, it will just be tweaked to make sure that there is not an overabundance of items.. No one is going to stand for an item being impossible to find, and no one is going to stand by silent while every player in the game is forced to server hop to find certain items.. Even the devs themselves once they see this idea in action will realize just how utterly horrible it is. Yes, you need to have a way to ensure that your "rare" items are not duplicated or hacked in some way.. or fall out of rare status over time because of exploiters or just because of time.. but you DO NOT NEED to do it this way, by encouraging players to move around from server to server. -
If you have a 75 rounds drum for AKM...
Irish. replied to lordkalvaire's topic in General Discussion
Just why in the name of facepalming would anyone compare this to COD? Do they not understand what that single comparison says about themselves? It says, "I PLAY OR USE TO PLAY COD" because if you didnt you would not be using it as a reference to this day. This game is a mod of Arma. That is Latin for WAR ...not survival. Any comparison to COD or any other shooter is just ignorant if its because of attachments and military weapons, and not just to discuss similarities.. STOP. NOW. THANK YOU. -

You do know this is like asking for training wheels on your bike when you are already an adult, right? -

No signs of character reset, and no need for one.. that would have happened last stable patch if anything. There is no trick to keeping your old player, all you have to do is not log in for the first day or 2 of any new patch. There always seems to be issues in the first hours of a patch release that causes many players to be reset by logging in and that character being saved after that to the hive. So simply dont log in until you hear people are not having that issue any longer.. its been like every stable patch since the dawn of man. ;)

Has anyone got a list/details of the next update?
Irish. replied to Acher0n's topic in General Discussion
OH MY GOD. :o -
Seriously, add a restart button, I can't even play DayZ anymore
Irish. replied to sketch814's topic in General Discussion
