Dying of hunger wayyyyy too often

I have never died from hunger. Ever. Just last week I got into a firefight at the NWAF.. I got hit, and fresh spawned in Berezino. So I ran, in the rain, with zero looting and no drinking or eating straight to the NWAF. I got there in time to recover my gear, gain some more from the people I had taken out with me (traded deaths with the last guy) and while I was seeing all grey and damn near dead by the time I finished grabbing all the loot (about an hour had passed now with no eating or drinking from a fresh spawn and running through the rain all the way to the nwaf from east coast) within the next hour I was back to full health. Several Zucchinis, bags of rice, and tons of water.. with a final saline bag on top to cap it off. I dont get why some people find it so hard to survive the base game? Players and bugs.. thats all that kills me. I really dont get it.
  2. Last night I sat sniping out in the open at the NWAF for almost 3 hours, in the rain.. Only drank 1 canteen in that time, and ate no food. Raining constantly with Gorka Top, Cargo Bottom. COLD status, and I am shaking almost the entire time. Afterword, I logged out with COLD still showing in my status along with healthy, energized, and hydrated. So.. Im ignoring it from now on. Useless mechanic once you're beyond a fresh spawn.

    The Great Shardening

I cant wait for the people over at DayZero to get their hands on this game and do what they do best..

    Opened doors are not random!

Who dafuq cares. :| If you cant tell whether its been looted or not at this point, why does it even matter to you? Oh wait, thats right. Server hopping.

Whats your favorite location on the map?

    Post-Necro'd ^
  6. I know myself and many of my clan have experienced this heavily since .49, but has anyone else out there seen far too many server restarts? Like sometimes 2-3 in an hour, at times 10-15 minutes after it had just restarted? Its happening so often it makes me feel anxious just crafting a backpack, or setting something down for any reason. Its almost as if loot respawn or central loot economy is affecting the servers and forcing restarts ? .. in the least they are restarting much more than Ive seen in the past. While it can be good for looting, its horrible in general for the game. The constant immersion breaking restart timer notice, the loss of gear, the very odd spawn-ins from getting caught in a random server restart, to the player wipes happening much more frequently it seems.. Is this just us, or are others having a lot more issues with restarts and player wipes?
  7. Forced player interaction. Which should be welcomed by almost every player out there. The map is large enough as it is.. no need for more places to hide from everyone else in the game. There is just no need, when you look at the map to add or save the trees in my opinion. Using photoshop and the dayz map, I can see that Chernarus is roughly 40-50% forest/wilderness.. so why any needs saving is beyond me really? I respect and understand your view, but Im not seeing the validity in it. Do you really think we need woods everywhere? Is there truly not enough for you as is? Because honestly Katana, its crazy to me if you say no. Cray, cray.. :)
  8. +500 for reading comprehension..
  9. Due to recent shortages in Cornmeal, caused by the hostile kidnapping of the largest cornmeal supplier in the world by the terrorist group ISIS, we are no longer offering free cornbread if you mention our previous ad.. In fact, we are out of cornbread. :( Thank you.

  14. Would you like the player spawn points to be spread out more across the map? Discuss your thoughts and feel free to read or skip mine below. I understand the Dev's point in having all of the spawn points localized in one area of the map and near their new towns. I also know this subject has been discussed but I have a new viewpoint I believe on how its affecting the game currently: I have noticed that this creates an issue with people sticking close to that area and upon dying simply running back to their bodies to recover the lost loot. This sort of ruins the point of even dying imo, and should only be done during a clan war or community event. When I die I log out, recover after some thought and come back later to start fresh. I feel the game would benefit greatly from spreading out the spawn points now, rather than waiting until later. In the least enable the previous spawn points we had before, and allow them all to be a random option for each new player spawning; Stary, Elektro, 3 Valleys, Berezino, Svetlojorsk, etc.. The action would still be there, just not all in one rather small part of the map. And players would rarely have the option of running back for their gear, giving more meaning to perma-death. This would also allow for deeper testing of the map areas. Perhaps the % of spawning in the NE could still be highest while needed, but there would always be the chance of spawning in one of the other previously used spawn points throughout the map? http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/24kcx3/would_you_like_player_spawn_points_spread_out/

    Permadeath losing it's edge

This. I concur and agree completely. I am in a clan, which makes it even worse.. but even as a lonewolf I found dying not really an issue. My main problem back then was I NEVER died. Even when I tried to get killed, I would in the end have the shots miss me.. or I would eventually kill them. Boring stuff if you do it for a few years over and over again. You get to the point where you realize the loot is shit. Playing the game for fun is where its at. In the mods, I had to find something. But in the SA, I can take off all my clothes and gear and still attack players and come out on top. Running around Svetlo or Berezino where bandits are killing everything that moves and you are in full EMT gear, handing out medical help with no real weapons.. now thats some exciting shit. Throwing a burlap sack over your head, and running around blind.. breaks the monotony. But getting attached to your gear, and being afraid to die or concerned I should say.. its not a negative thing. If you're concerned with death in this game you are missing out on the beauty in it. Death is what its all about. If you dont die often, its staleness creeps in. This is all only true once you put in serious time on the game. When you're fresh and new to Chernarus its a bright blue world.. but when you've been there for 1,000's of hours it starts to feel like groundhog day. Rinse, repeat. Rinse, Repeat.. repeat. Repeat. So go forth and have fun. Rush bandit clans with nothing but an axe. Attack a hoard of zombies with your fists. ;)
