I like the talk of eventually dragging bodies and wounded.. but the current system we have once someone is downed, or killed is rather bland and uninteresting. Im sure plans are potentially in place to expand on it, but in case its been overlooked I'd like to propose some ideas on how things could eventually be with dead bodies making the experience much more enjoyable. When someone dies, their body should stay there until its buried or the server restarts. Performance issues may keep this from ever happening, but perhaps in the least we can expand the time limit until the clean up happens allowing the bodies to stay as long as possible. While they are present in game, it should state the player name.. never unknown entity. It should state the temp. and be accurate, as well as a detailed explanation of how they died. Like "Player Trevor is cold to the touch and has died from.. Gunshot wounds, an apparent infected attack, stab wounds, dismemberment, etc.. " I think it would be really interesting to go around finding the dead, and sort of learning the tale of what happened to them based on their location, how they died, loot they had, etc.. In fact, some could find this being the way they play the game.. like CSI for dayz or a tracker.. bandit hunting clans, etc. I think it could be a really good addition, what do you think? http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/2lg8d1/deeper_richer_dead_body_experience_can_we_have/

Legit, with none of that I found a body right away stuff.. One time, got that Novo spawn on the hill next to the garages on North hill. In that one area, within 1 garage, and 2 trucks outside.. I had everything. Tact. Vest, Hunter Pack, Cargo Pants, Tac Shirt, ballistic helmet, sawed off shotgun, mosin with LRS and comp. + 40 rounds ammo, can opener, sewing kit, med kit, morphine and epi pen. Literally all of it in about 3 minutes flat. And the weird thing.. it was a normal server. Not loot heavy or anything. Just the variation of loot in that one tiny 30 ft. area was everything I needed. Walked away with all matching gear (green) and double carrying with enough ammo to defend myself a short while later.. got attacked by 2 players, ambush style, ran into a hunter shack, bandaged, and shot them both dead as they approached me.

Play on lower ping servers.. Hit that ping filter, join the green ones up top. It helps.

Nah brah.. thats like totally legit. Just yesterday my clan found a helicrash that had like 14 M4's, 300 ammo cases, 453 grenades, and tons of ammo. Or.. that was a dream I had last night. I dunno whats real anymore.. :|

So aside from a short story.. I struggled to find the point of your post. Then I found it.. that one little line, "this is what they do now". My retort to you is, Are you new to DayZ? I mean.. go watch some old frankie1080p videos of the mod from like 2 years ago.. watch some SA videos from january.. watch some videos from last month. They all have the same thing in common: DayZ has a fuck ton of PvP. You should probably get used to it.. sometimes people talk, others they shoot. Sometimes they only watch, others they hunt. Its the beauty of the game, and if you dont like it.. I recommend you find a good RP server to play on. Tons of fun there for people who dont like being shot without warning or interaction.

The devs are already on to a fix.. had one respond to a reddit post a while back. It happens more often in high ping situations, where the server does not update your player position properly but can happen randomly to just about anyone when upstairs of a building. In the mean time. VAULT. Once you are upstairs, vault somewhere safe to do so. This forces the server to update your player position, removing the bugs chance of happening about 95% if not 100%.

Thats not really entirely true.. :blush: I personally have made it a mission to piss them off enough to where they constantly hunt us down near the NWAF area. So its not that he isnt on good terms with me, I dont even know the guy.. its more so about rivalry, that from our end.. I would hope FOG members realize that the whole thing is calculated. I mean, we actually talked about this a week before that clan match if you remember me saying as much.. that Id rather them just hunt us down all the time, blah, blah, blah. When Spirit posted the video showing him personally state within 2-3 seconds of me talking in sidechat, "he must be glitched" .. well I mean he opened the door right there for me to egg him on and build this rivalry. Outside of the making sure my clanmates know we are all on the same team, and that honestly I could care less if he got upset and accused us of something we never do.. I am just trying to get another clan to join our server with blood in their eyes and hate in their hearts to keep things interesting for us... without the fear of stupid hackers and cheats. :)

LOL.. its like one of those drawings where you try to find all the mistakes. :lol: Ive seen you and several other forum members joining and playing lately.. and we love it man! FYI though.. be very, very careful anywhere near the NWAF and any other military installations. All of them are quite hot with enemy contact of all types even when the server is low pop. Other than that, its great to have you playing on our server Odin.. its been a very nice cheat and hack free environment for us so far, and having more players to interact with and hide from/chase down is exactly what we are looking for on our server. Make yourself at home! ;)

I think we should make the title of the server state | NO PERSISTENCE | ... Instead of | PERSISTENCE OFF | ... Simply because sometimes the name gets cut off, making you think this is a persistent server. If it has NO in front.. and all you can read is NO PERSI.. you can assume correctly, rather than incorrectly. Id hate for people to join, loot forever, make a stash.. log out. Next day.. #FML.

It was a calculated move on my part.. very manipulative. :blush: I want them to be mad and hunt us down on our server.. I want many clans to do this very thing. B) Its the culmination of my dream for [FOG]. 1. form clan of friends, who enjoy killing others 2. make it a lasting success 3. create word of mouth for clan, either good or bad 4. get other clans to take notice of us 5. get those who take notice to either befriend or engage us 6. enjoy game from then on with little effort taken to find action and friends #Winning

This. Vaulting forces the server to update your location.. since its a movement that requires proper updating to ensure you get over that fence.. Also works well against leg breaking, boot ruining, bugs. :)

EDIT: DOING THIS AGAIN TONIGHT ON EXP. SERVERS.. I WANT TO EAT PEOPLE. :) Another small event from me tonight.. no warning as usual. Whoever sees this, gets to join if they want. I will be recording my part of this event and will post an edit version afterword here if the OP stays up. Experimental Servers - Unknown server yet since they are always full these dayz. Description - I will trek from undisclosed location into the NWAF. I will not already be there waiting. You can ambush me if you like. I am a man of my word, and essentially want you to kill me so dying is of no concern to me. But I want to eat anyone I can kill and skin.. so watch out. Time - Approx. 9pm PST is start time. It will go until I get full or someone kills me. I will not go down easy if I can help it. I have plenty of gear to withstand a long firefight and being wounded several times. I intend to fight for my life so do NOT come planning on my laying down so you can shoot me. Plan on a firefight. Hopefully you get it. Otherwise it will just be a round in the head for one of us. Or of course me eating someone. :)

Did anyone bring up vaulting yet? Vault (fence hop/jump) as soon as you get upstairs anywhere.. the server updates your player location and voila.. no more leg bug.

Any melee. Fists, anything. Guns will shoot the door unlocked. You must shoot it either enough, or in the right spot.. but Ive seen it done and done it myself several times.
