Pre-Alpha the Dayz dev team numbered at just over 15 people.. by the time the alpha was released it had increased slightly. But when the sales came in from the alpha on steam, that is when BIS added in another 12 members, and then recently a second team of non-BIS devs have been brought in to help with the things that those already on the Dayz project have lessor experience with, like animals and hunting. Dean stated that this latest addition would effectively double the dayz dev team during a live stream broadcast.. so if you do the numbers that would mean there is roughly 60+ people currently working on dayz, and perhaps more but not too likely. But remember half of those were just added, and only temporarily. I would bet that the team will actually decrease when Dean leaves, as at that point they will only need to have a small staff on hand to iron out the kinks down the road. I mean that's sort of the point of why Dean is leaving himself, he simply will not be needed any longer. The same applies for a lot of the art staff, testers, etc.

I dont see us getting much in the way of more camo until this game gets mod support, and then it will explode onto the modding community and we will see all sorts of things added in from Amra 2 and 3 as well as custom made content. I cant wait for the SA to get modded onto a different map.. anything other than Chernarus. I have the map so memorized I dont even need light anymore let alone a map, compass, gps, etc.. I can just play in the dark and still find my way and that just is wrong to me. I need a new location to play in other than Chern.. its getting a little stale on me after all this time (from mods to SA)

Now not the map itself, but the added in personality that they did with the Mod map: Podragorsk, I think would be great additions. There were all these little logical signs that people had been here recently, but now are all gone... roadblocks overrun, scaffolding on buildings, random little traces of humanity. I would love to see that added in Dayz. And you know, perhaps some sort of end game thing to do.. like have the story of Chernarus and what happened be something that we could actually investigate and figure out by putting little clues together at places through out the map. Things scrawled on walls.. graffiti, add in a story through the art department by leaving clues for us to put together. Like small things at Balota will lead you eventually to the NWAF where other small clues will be present and once found you will feel like you are starting to piece together the history of this whole zombie apocalypse.

Its the damn game.. odd burps, horse brays, cans opening, etc.. I swear they did it on purpose just to mess with us.

I am not really going to add in my opinion, as people seem to have this nailed down.. but I will add in this: You add in heart attacks, weather affects on your player, sickness, all this "realism", etc.. but you leave in the magical make-a-body-disappear in 2 seconds?

Filter: Night Only = profit ..Ive played on the night only servers many times and love it. I like to do that rather than the typical find a low pop server, if I dont feel like killing people or getting in firefights.. its more fun to feel some what safe in the dark, but to know that there are 35+ other players out there and its so dark you can barely see your hands. Do not ever mess with your video settings to defeat the dark.. just find a new (day) server at that point.

So will you apply this "rage quit" logic to your everyday life? ..I didnt think so. So why don't you, get back in the game and see how long it takes before you see another teleporting ESP haxxer. I bet it takes a long, long time.. or you could just you know, Quit. For. Good.

So Ive been sitting here a little bored, and I was lacking a reason to play Dayz until I thought of something that just may interest some people here.. A Dayz Community Pop-Up Event! It will start today at 1600 pst or 4:00pm pacific standard time. This will be the first of many events to come, and if things go well (people sharing good stories of a successful event here on this thread) then I will enlist others to help make this a weekly thing. Based on the escalating events in the Ukraine I thought it would be fitting to have our event today be about Revolution. Starting at 1600 pst on all US East official servers (US East 0-1 and up) we are calling for all players dressed in mostly camo to head to any military base as you are being called up to fight for your country. All players dressed in mostly civilian clothing should make attempts to overrun any and all military bases and to hold them down until the servers restart. You may play however you like, and may change sides but please stick to the one theme of camo's versus civilians. It would be best if players who are dressed alike work together and do not fire upon each other, but in a revolution anything can happen so go out and have fun! Players may be taken captive, shot on sight, or forced to flee the area but at the end of the event we ask all players to report back to this thread with videos, photos, and stories of their interactions during the Dayz Community Pop-Up Event: MIlitary vs Civilians March 2, 2014 1600 pst all US East Official SA servers (try to stick to well populated servers) See you on the field! vs. List of Recommended Military Bases: Balota Airfield North West Airfield North East Airfield Pavlova Military Base Green Mountain Vybor Military Base, etc. Other options include: all small military tent areas, Police Stations, & Fire Stations
