I did some research on hacking a while back after reading a post about dayz.. and what I found was pretty telling. Mind you this was not the typical google search for 10 mins.. I spent a total of 3 days looking up info, writing stuff down, chasing down those leads. I got a little caught up in it to say the least, but man I was really bored at the time.. what I found was when you see a rampant use of hacks in a game its almost always because someone has released a free script injector along with the proper hacks. Usually people have to pay for these things, and in the end you can still get global banned so most kids never are able to get the hack tools they need due to lack of funds. But when its released free to the public, then friends start telling friends and eventually even honest players start to cheat in a fit of rage. This usually results in a massive player ban once the hack is detected. In Dayz SA, there was a publically released hack that lasted up until around mid january. Thats why it was so rampant initially. But Battle Eye detected it eventually and now stupid people who dont research enough are STILL downloading it and trying to use it which results in a ban within minutes. Global BE ban. Which affects all of your BE games on Origins and Steam, etc.. Anyhow, thats what I found. If you see an insane amount of hacking. Walk out slowly, and watch the forums for a fix. :)

IRL or game? IRL = SKS Game = M4 Why? IRL: The sks is far more reliable in real world situations.. that M4 overheats too fast in long firefights. Game: Because the Mosin exists and I can carry 2 primaries.

The best part about dayz is when you start to get bored of one of them, there are like 30 other mods with all sorts of variation to try out. It will get 100x better when SA makes its way to modding.

I remember watching a pre-alpha video where the zeds were MUCH better than what they are now.. The only thing they did not have in place seemed to be the environment detection. So I have to presume that they dialed the zeds back on purpose to work on other issues, and in the hopes of getting them to properly track fences, buildings, walls, etc..

Has anyone else noticed that they seem to spawn off of gunshots? .. Like I cleared the area with my axe. Then shot a zed from far away up on a hill.. 3 seconds later i have 3 zeds running at me within close prox.. I was in the woods basically, with no zeds around prior to my single gunshot.

My favorite so far reaction is this: Aggressor - "Hey, drop your weapons and surrender or we will shoot." Captive- "No, you drop your weapons and surrender. Or else Ill kick you from my server." <-- bluffing Aggressor - Drops weapon and puts hands in the air. #priceless

Its super realistic that if my handguard or buttstock is not a particular brand and in perfectly new condition that I will not be able to hit anything accurately beyond 20m... especially considering that the barrel of my M4 is in brand new pristine condition. Its the buttstock that really makes the bullet fly through the air anyhow... DERP.

It is missing a lot of pve... but that is mostly due to the new player base that is learning. You cant get creative in dayz if you do not even know how to drink water or craft items. And really the problem is when people get angry about being killed... If not for their anger it would be simple to just, suck it up.. respawn and start playing again. No matter how much content they add in, KOS will still be at the same pace it is now and has been in the mod for a long time. The only way people can diminish KOS is by not resorting to it themselves if its not their natural play style.

Anyone who hates KOS or SOS is simply upset. Why? Well, its part of the game. Its like saying I love playing poker but I really hate cards a lot. Also, they often times appear to lack the skills themselves to defend against being KOS by others, so their only recourse is to hit the forums. It would be nice if people would just sort of man the fuck up and learn from their mistakes or realize that Dayz just must not be for them. It is a survival game based entirely around pvp and pve. Deal with it.

1. Yes, I do SOS or KOS. I do so because Ive played this game since it came out, as well as Arma and that is my roots for this game. When it first started people were very friendly and really gunfights were rare. Then it quickly became a focus for players who grew bored of the survival aspect. I still KOS because quite simply its fun. Playing without PVP is boring, and I would not play Dayz at all if killing others was not present in the game. 2. My play style has no bearing on my skill in the game. I hope you realize this is true of every player out there. How you play, really is not a barometer for how skilled you are. Ever. It really is a flawed theory if you have considered it for even a moment.. skill does not come from playstyle. It comes from experience and natural abilities. 3. I do not judge how others play unless it involves cheating or metagaming that gives them a gross advantage. 4. With each question its becoming more and more apparent that you are not actually asking questions but simply stating your own personal opinion and perhaps you are seeking approval from others? You will not get it from me. I see no point in senseless judgement of others. 5. Again... your shit is really laughable at this point. Get over yourself and your need to judge others because I presume you got killed once or something.. its in the game, deal with it or move on to another game. Period.

Alright.. see it took me a minute, but I got it. But now, your clarification has just severely effed my head again. :D I mean I was fine with thinking you were just stating that a guy swinging a gun wildly around is less trustworthy than a guy who is controlled and holding it at a resting position with the barrel pointed safely towards the sky. Ok, I guess people may have missed it but: THE FIREAXE... it blocks bullets when equipped in your hands, but only direct front facing shots.
