Ive signed up for the Dayz 50k Marathon and I need sponsors.. All proceeds will go towards the Chernarus Underprivileged Zombies program, helping poor option less zombies throughout Chernarus. This is a charity event folks so please open your hearts and your pocket books generously! We ask that all donations be in the form of in-forum virtual loot such as beans, empty tins, thumbs up, and Cpt. Picard facepalms. I will be running the marathon tomorrow evening on an undisclosed server (will notify all who want to join) and will post a video of the event after. The 50k marathon rules are to run non-stop in a loop of Chernarus until I have made it to the 50k distance mark, or have died. I must be a fresh spawn in shoes and underwear, and that is all. No pre-eating or drinking.. just spawn, de-clothe and start running! If anyone would like to join in just PM me on steam: Lrishjake and I will send you the details so we can run this marathon together!

Drunk would get me lost too.. maybe my next feat should be a dayz drinking game? I could drink each time I meet a player or aggro a zed!

LOL... I really did think I would get shot in Elecktro.. I never thought I would be able to run along the major roads on a full server, through Elektro->Cherno->down the airstrip of Balota->along the coast->up the main road to Zeleno.. I took the most dangerous path I could. Right past the firestations, and main action areas and though I heard shots not one came my way. Would have been really funny to just hit a bear trap on the 1st km :)

Well, the marathon went off without a hitch.. video in bound. I met several players along my run, witnessed a murder (never even slowed down), and in the end I passed out just north of Zeleno, having started NE of Elektro. :) Afterwards I joined back into the same server and tried to hand out soup in Elektro.. Made some friends that way. People like a guy walking around with a big cooking pot of soup in his hands..

Wut? I uh.. dont even know where to begin. Humor. Levity. Things that make you go, LOL. That is the point here.. Also, of course I personally will not tire. But my character is sure to die of starvation or dehydration or heart attack from this. No way am I actually making it to 50km.. that would take about 3 hours at a minimum. So my video should be pretty funny. I will either be shot, griefed, followed, see no one the whole time, die of heart attack or starvation.. but either way it should be fun while Im doing it :)

So between this post, and the other one.. I now know your exact location that you hang out in. I just need to find you on the server :) ..Not that I would stalk you like that, but its possible now thanks to your informative posts. Beware..

Bears, Wolves, Super Zeds, Monster Squirrels, Rabid Rabbits, Meth Zeds, etc.. I want the woods and forests to be unsafe come final release time. So if you are walking in the woods for too long, or sit in one area on the edge of the woods for too long, something comes to get you!

It would be funny if you got a long white beard for living in the forest longer than 50 hrs or something like that.. old hermits walking around in dem woods

It would be nice to be able to set fire to combustible loot, like clothing, wood items, etc. It could make a thick black smoke signal fire.. good for signaling for help, etc. It would need to be a process, like collecting several sets of rags from shirts and several sticks. But the pay off could be something that can seen for great distances (see pic) and could be a huge addition to dayz. What do you think would make some great additions for communication purposes in dayz?

Technically, this is a pretend video game.. so lets pretend that we don't care about zombie analogy and get back to the topic. I like headshots. But only of attractive models.. not ugly zombies.

He, in all actuality, based on his real life experience during survival training in the military. Its his version of how people are when they are delirious, starving, and disease ridden.. just like many of his peers as well as himself were during that 2 week solo survival training mission in the jungle that almost killed Dean. I vaguely remember him being quoted in an article where he stated that it was as close as he could get to how it felt inside himself, and how people seemed to look on the outside; Zombies. One of his poignant experiences was while starving he tried to steal food from another survivor. The guy caught Dean in the act, but in the end gave him some rotten top ramen, that Dean says helped keep him alive that day. Sound familiar? lol

I think what may play as more of a factor is that people with good CPU's tend to have decent rigs as a whole. And when they have a nice PC, they are not used to adjusting things to make them work properly.. the tendency is to crank the settings up all the way. People with crap PC's like me, get used to having to squeeze every last drop out of their PC and in the end learn how to optimize things with greater efficiency. Thats my theory for some of it at least.. because I really doubt that for some odd reason older, lessor CPU's would have an inherent advantage when playing dayz.
