Actually, some of the mods had the ability to chop a tree down and then to gather wood from it. There is already in place coding for the trees to be knocked down.. there basically already is destruction for everything in game, they just would have to code it all in (not easy at all) as the SA is a different style build than the mods but the mods had all of this in essence. Im sure they could easily do it in Dayz (again easily is a very loose term here.. it would take months, and months of work. But its possible) BTW, that game looks awesome :o

Yes, use da hoe.. You can one hit headshot kill a zombie with them, but body shots will take 1-3 to kill typically. Its a great melee weapon to use imo for zeds.. only second to the fireaxe (there are other equal weapons to the hoe, Im just saying its good) -

I would like there to be a drop button.. so you instantly drop anything in your hands, without animation playing out, to the ground. This would be most useful when surprised by another player or zombie, so that you could drop whatever is in your hands and move quickly. I think the best implementation would be either a key that can be remapped in the assignments area, or by default set it up as part of the mouse wheel scroll similar to how the mods and Amra work. Scroll mouse wheel, see 'inventory and drop' as options.. etc. then you have to hit select to actually drop it. Later down the road when it matters more that things can be ruined while using them, this will actually I believe be a necessity as the UI for dropping a ruined weapon takes a long time and forces you to bring up your inventory.

City lockdown.. its the best idea I feel. Everyone can read ahead of time.. TOWN "X" IS OURS! ..and then try to infiltrate it and kill you all off. I think the really interesting part would be the players that would spawn already in the town.. hunting you from within :D Also a great idea would be to pick a town close to spawn points, so that your downed members could come back to the fight like reinforcements. This way the whole thing could last a full server cycle.. epicness -
I think that going back to the days of tents everywhere filled with loot, people not caring about death too much will have a great impact on this game.. perhaps negatively. I also fear that the persistent backpack idea will potentially mean that backpacks are everywhere hidden in bushes, leading to players playing recklessly. I feel like having Lockboxes ONLY would be a great remedy to the trappings of persistent containers. You find one looting, it takes up 15 slots to carry.. only a backpack with room can hold it. You cannot place more than 15 items within the lockbox, (this includes being able to add a weapon taking 10 slots but only while the box is on the ground, not while carried). You would have to make room in your pack, by filling the box first just like a plastic container, before you could place it inside. This way you would be forced to limit your inventory options and ability to get to some of it quickly. This would make players want to place the box as soon as they could after finding one. The lockbox works like a tent, but is very hard to see unless up close or left out in an empty field/road. In game it would be roughly the size of a hiking backpack when placed flat on the ground, or even a bit smaller. You can combine it with a lock and key, but you cannot personally lock it like a safe (or perhaps a combo lock model that can be only set by the original owner would be best?). If you place it down without a key, anyone can open it. Otherwise they must have a lockbox key to open it. Make them very, very rare to find after initial testing phases so that players cannot simply hoard boxes and loot within them. Have their spawn chance be very low and only in high traffic loot spawns that are not as abundant, like ATC towers & shipwreck. In the least, please consider the consequences of 30+ slot tents, and persistent backpacks(if we are not limited to 1 per player per life). I really think it would be horrible for the SA to have a person like me walking around (and many others like me), with tents all over the map filled with gear.. killing everything in sight because I have nothing else to do. <-- i.e. what happened in the mods

There was an update today. But the servers are still down. There are 3 [DE] servers up, that are not connecting to the central hive so they are live but you start fresh on the coast.. and I doubt it will be saved once the servers actually go live.

It will every time, almost, be underneath your backpack when you log in.. you can run around full speed until you place something in your hands, which will drop the 2nd primary. Since there is often a delay to see things that are dropped most people miss this altogether.. If you place the 2nd primary in your hotslot, you can log out and back in.. run around and press your hot key when you get engaged. It sounds like this guy probably had dropped his on the ground while fighting the zeds.. and picked it up during his engagment with the OP. At least to me it sounds that way, otherwise he did in fact use some sort of cheat to hack in a weapon. I would think though if he had done that that he would have just hacked in ammo for his SKS.

I felt unrepresented as I do vary my style, but when I KOS, which is mostly, I: KOS only those that are prepared to defend themselves.. I will typically not engage an opponent without his knowledge unless I feel I am at a tactical disadvantage or outnumbered. I tend to let them know I am there one way or another before opening fire. I feel its rather cheap to shoot someone in the head who is busy looting or eating and has no idea I am even there, unless again I am cornered and outnumbered or at a severe disadvantage.. in that case its survival first ;) I have no idea how you would word that as an option in the poll :D -
Problem with W button (Walk/Jog/Sprint)

Yes, I have a lot of buttons remapped to fit my needs (use a Nostromo for my left hand).. to sprint I hold up and D.. to super sprint its up and E. Walk is just up.. slow walk is double-tap shift. But also OP, not sure if anyone else has said this.. there are SEVERAL reasons why your player will walk slow. You can accidently tap a number of buttons that will make it impossible to properly sprint until you correct it. And on 1pp servers, if you're new its hard to even tell what you have done. Things like weapon out and raised.. double tapped lean buttons.. double tapped shift for slow walk.. I cant even think of them all but there are quite a few -
Speaking of, shouldn't this be merged with bug reports or something like that? So more people aren't under the ground, or searching youtube how to do it? ;) Seems like reports like this always get merged or moved.. but I wouldnt know

Fully geared for me is simple: Rags Fireaxe Can Opener The Bible Anything after that is just frills.. but after that my end game gear is: Pistol/mag/10-20ammo Canteen M4/mag/ammo-MP stock+handguard-ACOG/RDS Ballistic helmets-1 for head+1 for jacket/vest Hunter Pack 120 rounds for M4 in 2-60 round mags clothes that blend in to an extent I never need: compass map cooking gear (even once its implemented) hunting gear (I may skin and eat animals, but a simple tree fire like from the mods will do for me)
