If the virus that makes them infected was based on rabies they would be scared of water, though they should foam at the mouth some more but maybe the virus has been tampered with to do away with that symptom though thats how the virus spreads hence why rabid dogs bite to spread the virus.

At some point they are supposed to add stamina. I think that is going to affect the game a lot especially double carrying heavy guns with a pack with 100 pounds of ammo plus food, pistol, mags, etc. And i also ASSUME that when the soft skills get added that you can improve your carrying weight or at least the amount of stamina you have I know for a fact it will affect sprint as hicks has said it in a talk. And as for safes and such i'm all for that as long as it has a way in like cutting torch or explosives or even a safe cracking kit maybe it could involve reading a book to get the required skill to use the safe cracker set. If not wait for modding I'm sure something of that nature will be added. And nothing will lower KOS except maybe more things to do and even then some folks just find killing fun and who are we to hate on there fun.

No you should not have protection. Why? you should log out where it is safe not in barracks or houses or in the middle of a town. Hoppers need punished not help.

The ideas a start, I hope they figure it out because it sucks that zeds are only in big towns, game either needs new PVE enemies or they need to get these upped i love the game but it gets boring with nothing to be worried about, yes yes i know humans but i'm not gonna run all over looking for people that shit get old fast, even on a full server your chances of running into folks is slim and honestly even the human threat is getting boring same ol shit, I just wanna battle hordes of infected thats all and if not them something else games just gets boring with no threat. and like i said humans aren't enough. and yes i have taken breaks i do after every update because it ends up the same newness of update wears of and i realize i'm just walking around for no reason and pretty much do not need a gun because there is no danger really.

If they would just add melee with guns this wouldn't happen guy runs up to you and you bash his head in with the butt of the gun, problem solved you shouldn't have to put the gun away to melee. And i also agree OP its lame they can run through gunfire at top speed and knock folks out and it seems in all these types of games this kinda shit happens, either drop shots super zig zag or some other dumbshit, need to do like the players move in GTA5 when you go to change directions theres a bit of time before he actually does and you can feel the weight of the toons movements and I think it makes for a more immersive experience.

its not like the movies. And with no other sounds like engines and humans going about there daily lives i imagine this sound would carry in any deserted town to a degree. What they could do to quite them down and make you happy is add sub-sonic ammo thats used with suppressors.

This game will go 2 ways when modding comes in it will be vanilla and then there will be modded servers i'm sure you will get your wish and have servers with more ammo and guns than you can imagine let the folks have there low ammo and low food let them have one damn server where the game is difficult because it already a guarantee that there will be easy mode 100+cars start with M4 servers which to some i guess is realistic.

thats what it is called in the mod. I don't get what you mean, you get humanity for killing bandits and like he said you get it for gutting zeds and killing zeds on some servers.

A war hammer would be best for bone and one could be easily made. could punch through armored helms and the like. though its not as cool as the baseball bat it would be highly effective.

Or or you could make the characters only on that server. meaning you switch servers you start over problem solved.
