i was talking to a friend and our theory for the reason the bat sucks was because of what you just mentioned i assume when the maintenance building gets added that we will eventually be able to modify some of the melee weapons and the baseball bat would be the most likely candidate and if it did a lot of damage when modded it would be too OP. like i said its just a theory and an assumption but with these devs usually if you thought about it they already plan on implementing it or they are working on it and if they don't once full release hits the modders will do it.

forced to shoot zeds what? i don't understand i looted towns unarmed for like 3 days and had no issues have none of you played metal gear especially metal gear 3 the stealth is basically the same if you get caught you run they lose stamina then you break line of sight hide or circle back around to where you were looting and go on as before. i'm not hating on you but i really don't understand why folks still try and melee the zeds i do like to shoot them when its fun or they are in my way but it is possible now to loot any area unarmed which i love and the stealth is only gonna get better i can't wait for audio to impact stealth that's going to be boss.

i have 2 ak-74u and a ak-74 2 drum mags and a mp5 with all attachments except the buttstock. mil stuff easier to find in this update if you know where to look i found none of the items listed at mil-bases all in residential or industrial areas. i know the building they spawn in but i think telling you would ruin the experience of looking for stuff i'm sure someone has already listed it anyway

was wondering when they adjust loot live if us folks on private shards need to do a world reset or does it just sort of take the adjustments itself and will spawn the adjusted items in the game. never dealt with it before was wondering what i need to do on my end thx.

thx for the info i was assuming that was the case but figured i would ask to make sure i know hicks usually when he posts stuff is very detailed and would've mentioned it if it was the case but i know they've been busy as hell with the loot tables adjusting stuff still love this update having a blast.

so as the title says i don't get how folks are starving or having such trouble with zeds or melee why are you trying to go man to man with a crazed infected that should be a last resort. i looted elektro and didn't have any zed trouble till i left and i ran and hid and they couldn't find me and wandered off its much easier than before hell i don't even carry a melee weapon anymore except a knife and hatchet and they are used as tools not weapons. as for food i always hunted and farmed as well as i use apples and berries when i need to, food is a non-issue for me again i don't understand how folks are starving food is literally roaming the map or waiting to be grown or harvested. i honeslty think the game is easier to play the way the zeds work you don't get agro form 800m away you get a zed on you you made a mistake or atleast in my case when i play that the case. i have come to the conclusion that dayz has added natural selection to the game its become authentic as folks that don't hunt or use there brain die and to me thats the way it should be. hope some of you get an idea how to adjust as i don't want folks to leave the game yet i don't want to read or see 100 posts bitching about things that work pretty well or things that are a result of them not changing a playstyle or using mechanics that are in the game in that case its not the game its the player.

i didn't think bears hunted in packs i know they have a hierarchy when its comes to hunting and gathering locations but no mention of a pack mentality. they also are active hunters at night which will make night looting and camping interesting anyone know the breed we would be getting in-game or the breed of wolf. i hope we get a predator thats a cat too as they would be fast and very dangerous it would probably feed of the tears of the weak.

i havn't had any issues surviving at all i have had a lot of fun with this update kinda had to adjust how i play but its been really fun.

with this patch since it messed up loot you have to think different stuff can spawn anywhere. i found a tent in the bed of a truck lol, i found a drum mag and 1911 mags at the tan looking guard houses cars are definitely a gold mine right now they have food clothing and some guns i found a trumpet and a box of ammo and some sks but i havn't seen an ak though i'm sure someone has one. oh by the way the crashed UAZ i found ak parts and PSO-1 scopes at a few hope it help just look everywhere if a building has no items just move on goodluck.

so I've seen they have added a shit ton of zeds on H1Z1 yes i have mentioned a title that shall not be named but please just give it sec. so they added a lot of zeds and the community is bitching and crying that there are to many that they can't PVP they can't drink water boo fuckin hoo i eat there tears for sustenance. So its got me worried about one of the few games i really care about Dayz now i imagine the zeds are gonna be harder to deal with in this game once they are implemented and running top notch. this has me worried i personally want the game to be brutal i want the zeds to never give up and i want to encounter them anywhere and everywhere i want to use the best weapon i can my brain against them. i understand some do not like this and want to just pew pew all damn day and fight humans i get that but its not what i want nor what i signed up for. i hope the dev team become clear about there plans to implement them which they have given us an idea but what can we really expect in numbers and danger that way when it happens no one is crying or bitching or starting petitions to get it changed back to a TDM. i'm curious as to your all thoughts maybe i'm just being delusional but i can see it happening to this game to once the shit really hit the fan so to speak.

be sneaky man its so much easier than fighting them have none of you played metal gear or the older splintercell or even thief. stealth man stealth.

i see your point that melee should be stronger and a hit from an axe to the head should kill them in 1 hit as its an axe lol but i don't see it going as smooth as walking dead when they can just stab zed in the head so easily these are rage fueled infected full of adrenaline i think if you would go head to head with them and you don't have a shield or face protection etc you would get hit. since we can't make shield and there is no riot shield implemented they need to adjust or implement something i never did like the side-step thing though i used it it seemed cheap and i felt like i was exploiting sometimes which it probably was but hell why ruin my gear. now i just sneak if i get caught i run unless cornered then its shotgun time. went through elektro looted thw whole place didn't get caught till i was leaving then i just ran.

they have confirmed that you will be able to clear areas and that for more zeds to show up they will have to either wander into that area again through luck or through you making noise. and as for popping out from thin air i havn't seen that happen for awhile its gotten alot better.

you hit it on the head. to me the best weapon is and should be our brain.

glad too see a lot of the community feels the same makes me have a better peace of mind bring on the pain.

actually if you use a little stealth you can not take any aggro me and a friend did just fine last night looted an entire town without taking aggro till some bambi ran a horde into us. the trick is if you get caught by one you take it into a building and kill it oh well i'm not having trouble and talking about another game on a forum not meant for it is something i shouldn't do good day sir.

i feel you man i think the vehicles have something to do with it i have just my PC with 25mb hardwired, i noticed when i have more than me in the truck i have these lag spikes where the game literally stops. i do play on a persistence server and there are a lot of loot explosions which i also assume cause these lag spikes.

once they add stamina and weight affects your character i don't care what you carry but as of now i don't see a reason to do this because as of right now atleast it makes you think about what you need for the situation such as long range or CQC or med range. if you could carry 2 primary it would eliminate that because it would be everyone carrying AK or M4 with scoped mosin. like i said stamina and wieght needs to affect characters first IMO before dual primary type of stuff.

every wed it gets wiped you gotta pick up those tents and loot if you wanna keep it as of now. maybe someday we'll get maintenance without a wipe but for now its something we all gotta deal with.

i was thinking about alternative rounds for the shotgun like flechette ammo, as well as i've seen bola ammo these would be great flechette is used in high wooded areas to cut through the brush to hit a target and the bola can be used to incapacitate. i also have seen armor slugs mainly used to blast open doors or pierce car doors to hit a target. i think if we had rounds like this the shotgun we become an asset to every survivor group if it hasn't already. and if you want to get real crazy add dragon breath but not sure if they even work the video i watched of it they seem sketchy to even fire. i'm sure there are even more types of rounds that you all can think of that i don't know about. i'd love to hear your ideas and opinions on this as i think it would be great to see different types of ammo available not only for the shotgun but other weapons. now that i think about it i should have said alternative rounds for shotgun instead of special just woke up sorry lol.
