are you on a high pop server or have a high ping or dsync not sure if those things are a factor but i'm just curious. I remember this used to happen a lot more in the past and you'd hear zeds in the woods and soda opening would scare the shit outta ya that's for sure i honestly haven't encountered it in awhile though i'm on a server with low ping and its not full usually which sucks but what can ya do.

berries bushes apple trees or get a hoe and some seeds and grow some food you'll have more than you'll ever need if you just farm a little especially pumpkins the industrial area should have plenty of hoes if your in cherno as well as seeds in most buildings. goodluck

i'm hoping one day we get areas that require certain gear such as gas mask the right filter and even a suit either be radioactive or the CDC suits when working with disease. i would like areas like labs as well where you can easily get sick and die yet there could be an abundance of medicine or some other rare loot. add in your missle silo maybe theres radioactive debris or leakage from the warheads where you would need a radioactive suit and since the area is so dangerous and would've been protected well before the outbreak there would be really good military loot there.

hell OP i think gun jams would be cool i think the weapons are supposed to at least degrade i noticed in .55 before the change i was using an MP5 because its all i could find ammo for etc i used it for a week and at one point was like my gun looks like shit i opened my menu and the damn thing was damaged i was pumped not only did i need to use it less but i needed to use a weapon repair kit it would've been even better if it would start to jam or misfire guns should require maintenance IMHO depending on the design i think the AK would need almost no cleaning MP5 I've never owned or nothing really about when it comes to history and stuff where as the M4 hahaha i love that gun but it can be a high maintenance type of girl that's for sure.

I understand there were issues with the previous loot but i liked it i really did never had enough food, guns were somewhat hard to come by and ammo was rare unless you got lucky. Sewing kits were non-existent so we all looked like hobo's there was a real struggle, always needing food managing the ammo for humans or zeds my group had to rely on each other to survive now that the loots back the way it was before .55 the struggle is gone food everywhere ammo around every turn and guns in every house sewing kits can keep you looking fresh as a daisy. The need to explore and go to places i havn't been is not needed as i can just to the same old routine. before the fix i was finding myself farming to feed people going to places i never ventured to find guns and ammo for folks people had value and if they weren't worth a damn then they died the way it should be. i hope they get it fixed sometime soon because after a taste of what the game could be its hard to play with the loot extravaganza that we dealt with for so long this it what makes the game easy the loot. my hats off to the dev team you gave it a shot i know you'll get it fixed eventually and i'll be back struggling to survive i can't wait till things are hard to come by again. sry if it comes off as a rant i'm not pissed or dissappointed i just wanted to give my opinion about the loot and what i liked about it before the fix.

i always pictured ammo becoming rare and as well becoming a kind of currency to trade if you are trading with groups but of course it would need to become more rare for that to be the case time will tell.

i play 7 days to die and it doesn't outshine dayz IMO, and as for other survivor games what ones do you mean all the others run worse or have way less content or are just clones. 7 days does have the whole build stuff and hordes which as of the last update are broken and don't show up on day 5 and its very arcadey which i like when i'm just lol'n in a game. what would be the stagnat features? do you mean base building i for one am glad its not in have you played H1 the map and the atmosphere is ruined by shitty shacks the map looks like neo detroit. Or do you mean heli's not to much of a game changer IMO more of a headache. There is no game that is the best game and like an above poster says its in the eye of the beholder my personal favorite is metal gear 3 that's my take on best game ever made and is the game that made me have a survival game addiction well that and resident evil one for PS1. I used to not have patience with this game or the community but over time i just learned to go with the flow. The game will get better it has and the devs have proven they can do it some of the ideas they are doing and the scale they are doing it boggles my mind and we can't expect updates every week and usually when we get a stable update its pretty stable thanks to the experimental branch and the good folks that play on it and actually test and give bug reports(thank you folks). i personally am glad it came out in early access because honestly they game will be better in the end the loot as well as weapons will be balanced very very well i imagine. since they get feedback as well as live information on things unlike a closed dev game. sry for the book by the way but i fell very passionate about this game and i don't want it to fail nor do i want the devs to not complete there vision of the game or cut corners to please me or anyone else and if that means its not the greates game in the world oh well i'll have more hours and more fun in it then any other game but like i said before it my opinion.

yes i know the nazi's make it of course BI could get rid of that and make it cherno russian or something i'm looking at it from a tool standpoint it would be perfect for those times getting help up. of course it would be horribly inaccurate i suppose but if you were lucky you might get a good shot off or atleast have a few seconds of disorientation of your target to escape or get a weapon to really defend yourself or just ruin there gear before they take yours of your corpse. and i figure with the new inventory matrix maybe these kinds of gadgets would be neat to see. edited to add this since bi seems to not want the m107 or the as50 which i understand why but for you guys that want a ridiculous caliber and one that could take out a vehicle i think this or another boltaction or breach loading high caliber would be fair can still take out targets and vehicles but your gonna have to have skill to be effective and this folds up so once they add stamina etc you can still carry this in a effective way and have another main yet still be slower moving

patience my friends patience they are getting better in all aspects every update lately adds a little more to them. i say enjoy them not being a real bad threat while you can because sooner or later they are gonna be causing tears to flow and rage to quit. hell i can't wait to die in a wimper to the bastards i'll be giddy as a school girl.

i always suicide when they do an update so i can start as a bummy survivor and see whats different in terms of the loot and of course the struggle is the best part i usually suicide when i get to end game anyway i like to loot and when i have everything i'm like what next and since i'm not a big kill everyone type of guy i kill myself lol.

yep same here I've taken a break till .56 either way they never disappoint if somethings broke damn well better believe they'll do there best to fix it. i for one don't mind if it takes them 5 more years to make this game aslong as it ends up they game they wanted hell every suggestion i usually think of they are working on or have planned. IMHO this game besides project zomboid are and will be the best survival games out there bar none the zeds are just extra flavor.

i agree with you one of the best weapons in the game should be knowledge and your brain. and i have a favorite weapon its the pump shotgun most might not like it but i know how to hit the target and its useful in many scenario's and great for hold-ups none tries anything when thats pointed at them so usually it helps both parties get out alive. i haven't had a reason for a hold-up lately but figured i'd add that for the sake of usefulness of the tool.

i hip-fired and uzi once in real life tried to hit a can setup like 20 feet away. trust me you can't hit shit i tried hitting things closer and not only did i feel unsafe doing it i felt like a jackass and again i couldn't hit shit and surprisingly a uzi is very accurate when aiming down sights and yes it was a legal firearm. so after all that yes hip fire should be inaccurate. only gun that i use hipfire with in dayz is the pump shotgun on zeds and i've got it down to how close they need to be for me to hit them and i usually never miss.

if i couldn't speak and i wanted to live for a long time i would hide or avoid all human though that might get boring. you could if you see someone hide your stuff in a stash like backpack then do the surrender and type not hostile and state what your there for food ammo clothing and that you'd be glad to help them in any way. not sure what else you could do honestly.

that server whitelisted i'd like to get in on that sir. been playin some RP but server has went dead and it sucks playing alone.

first thing i do when i spawn is make an improvised knife since you spawn on the coast get a few rocks put them in your hand select creat improvised knife instant can opener/tool to harvest animals. and if you can find peaches a can of peaches will really get you goin good if you can find a few of those OP your good to go.

they might be putting off those kinds of changes till the inventory matrix is implemented seems like that's gonna change some things. but i do agree with OP i don't understand the reasoning maybe its to make it more of a decision factor like i have only select amount of inventory slots so you only carry so many which makes you selective about drinking your water makes you watch how much you consume and makes you plan routes around where wells are and makes drinking pond water a last resort. just and idea

never experienced that bug before i have had characters reset but that's on those shady servers with the join kick reset player stuff. you sure your not switching shards from public to private because the private hive you will have a new character everytime if your not sure join a public server and see if you have and old toon. i'm just curious as if its something else that would most certainly suck.
