Hey, I was just having a late night cruise of the forums and some of other peoples suggestions gave me a few ideas. Okay the title kinda sums up the purpose this might serve. The idea itself is very simple, after killing so many players in cold blood {Bandits not included}, you will start to hear random flies. Like really aggressive flies - if that's actually legit. The more survivors you murder, the more flys you will hear and it will become more regular. That is one idea, or it could be when in combat etc. Think about it, I thought this may help in the act of penetration against those damn bandits. Thanks

Didn't think about the innocence element, for instance - HAVING to kill someone. Although maybe in changes, for instance if you murder 1 person the flies will cycle for ten minutes etc. {Not continuously}
-
I'm sorry, yes the idea is unrealistic.. but tell me. What exactly is realistic in this game.. For a start zombies aren't real, neither the fact people are born from the sea or the fact weapons are just lying around in "Fire-Stations". The list could go on forever. Your all missing the point, I'm not talking about constant flies. Every ten/twenty minutes the player will hear five seconds of flies. Not much, plus who exactly wants to promote bandits. I mean the game wouldn't be the same without them, but I'm sure people would still KoS even in this scenario Anyway thanks for the feedback, although do remember I'm posting this as an ongoing idea. There's no point in all of you jizzing in your pants just because you don't think it's "Realistic" or "Very good"
-
I suppose, but the point of the flies is to cause what I'd call distortion or maybe PTSD etc. If they don't play DayZ with noise, what the bloody hell are they doing?
-
That is possibly the weirdest shit I've seen on this site :P
-
That's the point..?
-
What I mean: Walking though a forest - flies randomly start occurring. Or - When in combat you hear a faint sound of flys.
-
Personally, I think Zombies should be slowed down - but super hard to lose.

Idea! For situations like I've stated in one of my last comments. If the "Casualty" goes into shock from an injury and stopped breathing, once they have stopped breathing a system like the knock out system kicks in. Instead of a sand timer, the "You Are Dead" message fades in and a more distinct sound of flies starts to occur. - If CPR was to be included, there would have to be some sort of balance. For instance, if two players had been running for ten minutes then in one of them were to stop breathing and require CPR, the medic would not be able to produce enough successful compression s as they would be more out of breath compared to someone who had been sitting down for ten minutes.
-
I'm pretty sure it's breaths first only if they've drowned. That's what the military guidelines stated, although that was over a year ago :L
-
I'm not sure if anyone has already mentioned this, but I'm really too tired to read everything xD. But really, I gun shot wound? CPR?Defib will not patch you up from that. Maybe if they were previously shot or had a very minor injury, went into shock then stopped breathing. But no CPR to repair a gun shot wound, that would be just ridiculous.

Hello, basically spawning on the coast with no gear what-so-ever is a bit repetitive and unlikely; so I was thinking, maybe you could have a story for your character. My main ideas that your character is actually doing something when the "zombie" outbreak is apparently making it's toll on Chernarus. A few points: Yes, this would mean the virus would be pretty fast The things these guys are doing will have to be "Time consuming" And this may take the whole "survival" aspect from the game Well to try and justify those points, the person doesn't have to be of special significance, he could just be some local family man who is out camping etc. But this is how I'd imagine it.... You spawn in, all you can see is the inside of a tent {Presumed you were sleeping}, you check your phone and have lots of messages regarding the apocalypse. This would/could give your character a few more sentimental values and make you a bit more interested in your characters well-being. Your character could also have perks or something similar. Say the character above was on a hunting trip, maybe they could have an average backpack, civilian weapon {Hunting rifle or Double barrel shotgun} etc. But it would need disadvantages: Considering he was hunting, he'd be most likely far from civilization, towns etc. So this was my ideas, pretty basic I know, and with the whole perks thing I don't think they should be short term - like gear. But long term, say the same character was a ex-military helicopter pilot; maybe then he and others with helicopter experience would be able to fly. {Story line of the character could be implemented with the journal issued in the latest update} Well I'm pretty sure that's all of it, have a think leave better/improved idea below. Thanks.

revert to 1.7.6.1

Just go onto DayZ commander, install/update, DayZ, and select the patch you would wish to have. -
I am looking for a M40A3. Not sure the value of these but this is what I can trade. AS50 - 3X 5 ROUND NATO MAGS {This will be guaranteed} If that doesn't satisfy you then I have a spare pair of Night-Vision Goggles and a few other things you might like.

I do think 3rd person kind of takes the fear away from DayZ. You can easily see any threats without actually putting yourself in any danger. If they for remove 3rd person though, they need to improve 1st person view. I don't really like it :L

Yes, I remember aborting near Stary Sobor with one of my mates to find a better server, we joined another server, and both my friend and I were flung about fifty meters and killed us both. It happens :P.

Don't really think a penalty system would work. It would be really annoying if someone open fired on you and you manage to kill them. What then? You get a penalty for protecting yourself. It is like the humanity system, I try my hardest to stay as a hero; but I always seem to end up in a fire fight against some bambi who doesn't know what they're doing so I have to kill them. In my eyes it would just be one of those things that kill realism {Despite the fact we're in a zombie apocalypse} and just would cause annoyance for situations like I've mentioned.

l0l You don't need an AS50 or M107 to take down a helicopter. You can take down a Huey easily if you know where to aim.

The reason I have my name .. "Noodlew0rms" is because.. well worms just are really weird little creatures and I can't eat noodles because of that {I get paranoid and look down into them and my gag reflex just goes :L}

Umm three days.. isn't that a bit excessive. I mean I do not like it when people constantly kill them selves for a "Better" spawn location. But all it takes is one bandit who has already been up north and got far superior weaponry and boom... lots of players who were just looting have to now wait three days or 72 hours to play again.... Yes, it increases the value of life on DayZ. But over time people would lose interest. "Damn, I've just spawned in Electro" *Dies from Bandit* "Arr man another three days". Do you see what I mean? To be honest I don't think a "Respawn time" will do anything much good. As it is an annoyance to people who are killed unfairly, I'd suggest a system where if you die maybe 10/15 minutes after spawning - you'll spawn at exactly the same place. Furthermore, there are still problems with that too. People can go into main towns pretty much fearless for the first couple of minutes etc. But I certainly know if I had to wait three days after dying, I'd gradually just stop playing.

Not sure what mission it is, but in OA, there is a mission where you have to look for crows as they are circling a dead man you're trying to find. Maybe this could be implemented, say someone shoots a Bandit on the fire station; About 10 minutes later a medium/large flock of crows will be circling? There are loads of potential problems with that idea but just thought it could be a feature which could help players sense if somewhere is too dangerous. {Knowing that places like Electro, Cherno and NWAF will be literally a massive bird nest.
