Hey guys, i am new too and just yesterday installed dayz and the latest version and spent the next 3-4 hours tweaking to just try to get to play....to no avail. I then installed the last update prior to the the new patch and now works so going with that until the new patch is fixed......the game is rock hard,havnt even found a weapon yet! -
Just wondering how you tell who is a bandit? i havnt played the game yet but watched a host of you tube videos, and still dont see any indication of who are bandits?

And me I get to loading character data screen, after i also get tanks screen, and just sits there doing nothing... -
four hours after downloading off steam, all the combined opporations pack, then downloading dayz commander, then finding you need to run steam in admin to get over a serial code does not work error, i now get "battle eye intialization failed" and wont load any server,help please i just want to play the bloody game

I am in the same boat ...do I or don't I start dayz mod? If the standalone is out in the next few months I will wait if its 6 months or more then I will be in on the mod but at present stuck in limbo.

NAMVET1974 - Love the 60s music and era, although wasnt even born then! But Have a huge passion for the vietnam war and collect memorbillia from it, which is the NAM bit. VET is veteran so NAMVET and 1974 is the year i was born .Had same tag for 10 years.

I really want to play this game, but with only a few months to go before the standalone comes out is it really worth me starting up on this? The standalone is going to be better graphics, sound, lighting and so many more tweeks across the game. Its not one of those games where you join and blast away, its an in depth and deep game so by the time i build my charactor and get to grips i might of wasted my time. Your views????

its so easy to get engrossed in game that i dont want to get well into it and then stand alone comes out that i never come back to this game again. The other reason will be i shall compare the two games, where as if i just play stand alone i will only get into the interface of that and not have to re-learn the keys and actions.
