Something isn't right here. Hero's trying to murder fellow hero's? Sounds like somebody has been exploiting someone to get hero status to me. If they're actually hero's they wouldn't kill fellow hero skin clad players.

At this point in the mod, with us being so close to the Standalone I wouldn't even bother. Plus, you'll have one of two kinds of server. Either you'll own and run a good server for real DayZ players with maybe a few extra vehicles, normal loot rates, no pay to win, and maybe a few custom guns. And that server will never reach a population of over 10 people at one time. OR you'll own and run a shitty server that's 1,000 vehicles, super spawn rates, 'donate' for loadouts, extra military loot spawns, fast respawn, self bloodbag, and PvPnoscopeswag. Either way, there's no point of owning a server. Nobody will play on a server if it's vanilla like, and we have enough of those shitty PvP servers.

I have absolutely no problem surviving other players, not a bit. The game was meant to be a realistic post-apocalypse zombie game where people interact with each other. Sure, there's meant to be people killing each other. However, the game has turned FAR from its roots, and 99% of people merely play specifically to kill other people, which IS NOT how the game was meant to be played. Rationalize it as you wish, but that is the truth.

If 30 bucks a month is so financially trying for a person, then they have no business buying and paying for a server in the first place. And even if a server does take donations, people shouldn't be recieving things in return. Only idiots pay for something they know they won't be able to afford in the future. vs. There's a huge difference between a server offering a fun place for people to play and socialize, and a server that runs a business for the sole reason of making profit (believe it or not that is what 99% of paid servers do, regardless of what they might say they do with the money). Which is the plain reason why you'll recieve no love from most of this community in regards to 'custom loadouts'. On topic. Pick whatever you like the most.

Bandits? (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/bandit) No. Absolutely not. They're part of what makes the game work and function how it was meant in the first place. Bandits are what make DayZ fun and exciting, and they're what held the mod in a state of amazingness the first year. However, I feel they are now nearing exticton. 'Bandits' are not okay. There has always been death in DayZ, but when the game first started it was completely different then it is now. Killing someone was something most people thought twice about. You had a Winchester, an M1911, an Alice Pack, and food, most sensible people wouldn't risk that stuff to try and get some kills. There were always the KoS crowd though. The minute they started posting videos to YouTube about trolling people, backstabbing, and all that stuff, it was over for classic DayZ. I don't think we can ever go back. That crowd now outnumbers the crowd that likes playing the game how it was meant. And they're on the 'hype train' with everyone else. We come to a stop at standalone, and so do they. We can only hope that the style in which standalone is created curbs the ability to just murder everyone and everything they see.

I also agree. Some of the other mods have amazing gun sounds and vanilla has the crappy sounds from Arma 2. Very unrealistic sounds if I might add.

Cool beans bro. I haven't been flaming anyone. I'm expressing my opinion through words. I don't see why people think I'm 'obsessing' over LeeHarvey, fact of the matter is I couldn't care less. This is yet another topic that is available to read and post on in the forums, and I involve myself in most all discussions. If there is a serious issue with that, then why would a person ever make an account in the first place? There would be no reason to. Can you read? Read what you're quoting before you post. I have as much right as anyone to post my opinion on these forums.

Not when someone goes on a non-pvp server with the express intent to kill people, that isn't playing the game the way it was meant. Like Rista said, those server owners put those rules in place because they wish to have something outside the normal realm of DayZ. Do I agree with those rules? Not really. Do those rules make the game better? In a way. Yes. When I'm in game, I handle these types of situations as they arise. When I'm on the forum, I post things. Do the two always coincide in the way they work? NO.

There wasn't anything shown in December, how could you have seen any improvements from that version of the game if nothing was shown then?

I don't think this thread will receive a warm welcome, but I'll bite. I agree. The old feel of DayZ is long lost. It's only present to new players of the game now, and only for a few weeks at most. There are far too many servers offering 5,000 Vehicles, self-bloodbagging, uber-awesome no-scopez pvp with 200x loot spawn and 100x military loot. And even if you do manage to find a good vanilla server, you seriously suffer from shamefully low populations to a point that you don't even want to play on them, because the only thing you ever encounter is zombies. Also, the player base itself has dramatically changed. You used to be able to count on the occasional friendly encounter. Hell. It's how I met my current circle of gaming friends. Now, you can usually count on a bullet to the brain. Saddest thing is that people nowadays embrace this playstyle and it has become taboo to do anything else. Last time I played, I was with a group of people I barely knew, and refused to kill an unarmed survivor. I was promptly criticized and labeled a 'pussy' by them. I booted them from my teamspeak and said good riddance. I feel the pain.

It's not just me that is being warned or punished though, which is the base from which I am posting on. I could care less about my warning or suspension, but I'm more concerned about the community as a whole. I didn't know it was against the rules to post about or mention past infractions when it is part of a discussion, nor do I see it in the forum guidelines, but as you wish. I can and most certainly will prove LeeHarvey IS a troll. He has posted content that would lead any sane person with the even the slightest bit of common sense and functioning vision to the conclusion that he is most certainly a troll. -Edit: I'm done on this crap. It's apparently going nowhere fast, and will simply result in me being banned from a forum that despite all reasons not to, I still passionately love to participate on. Why and when we have lost our ability to speak out against things has eluded me, but oh well. I guess I'll have to keep my opinions to myself regarding this forum and how it is run.

I'm on his ignore list, and even then none of my posts are aimed at insulting or offending him whatsoever. I could care less what he takes from any of this. My attitude is directed at the heads of this community and the people that participate here. It's time that we actually start demanding something better from this community, AKA no more plain-as-day trolls being allowed to post topics like this. I'm not at all trying to feed anyone. The fact that you or anyone has to say that anyone is 'feeding' anyone is clear enough to the presence of a troll. I'm seriously not getting why members like us are getting punished for what we post on topics like this. It's not fair nor does it fall under what this forum should be.

Agreed. Why people are getting warning points and temp-banned for posting on these topics is beyond me. Clearly the problem is coming from Mr. Enfield and not the people post on his topics. Why doesn't he get banned. He's clearly trolling, trying to evoke response from the community. He's even said that multiple times. I agree, this place is going to the shitter. And it's not only because of people like LeeHarvey, but because of nobody doing anything about it. Edit- Oh wait. I get it now (looking back at my warning for posting on one of these). We can only READ these topics and not respond to them. This like is a community forum for people that like playing and talking about DayZ, but opinions aren't allowed if they criticize another members playstyle! God forbid.

Careful posting your opinion if it's negative. That's cause for a ban these days. Plus I don't think our dear friend cares very much. His type thrive on the negative reactions of others in the community. Hopefully standalone will curb this type of behavior by not allowing for people to so easily find things to murder each other with. The plain fact is that Arma 2 was designed for people killing each other, not exactly the vision rocket had for DayZ. If it doesn't, god help us all.
