Not to knock original DayZ, because I love it... but Origins makes zombies what they should be... scary. I just enjoy the gameplay, loot is hard, zombies are scary, and there aren't a million vehicles... but you can still actually find them without people hoarding a million of them.

I had the 7th most popular DayZ server in the world :P till I quit paying for it and gave up. lol Nobody wants Wasteland with DayZ, if they did, they'd play... Wasteland... The game has some cool mods because it is a modable game, every game that is modable has many different mods. Who knows why the devs made the infection system different, supposedly the uber high rate is an error. Who cares? SA will be here soon. Don't keep worrying about the state of the mod, we won't have to deal with it much longer. Plus, go play another mod then. Don't be a negative nancy. I hated the idea of playing anything but standard DayZ until I played maps like Namalsk and Origins. I now play Origins more than regular DayZ, but never forget my roots. Go try them. Edit: I quit paying for it because nobody else wanted to and I had personal things I wanted to focus on instead of coding and admining every free hour of every free day I got.

I think it should be implemented after time. I mean this is a survival sim, right? You grab a pot, keep it at camp, and have to boil seawater in it. What kind of survival game wouldn't have something like this? I'm loving the whole concept of SA, but sometimes I don't get why they won't add some of the things that they should add. many things (like this) are completely reasonable....

There is no good you will get out of asking here dude. If there was a great way to increase fps, then it would be plastered everywhere. Particularly if you have all settings on low. Make sure Anti-Aliasing, Vsync, and Post-Process are all off, other than that, don't expect anything better. The only thing this thread is gonna draw, are people saying the same thing I have said, and keystealers posting links to fps boosters. Do NOT download ANYTHING to boost your FPS. This being said, if you do happen to get your key stolen after I have said this, then you deserve it tbh. lol Try Razer Game Booster by Razer. I run all my apps through it, and most say it doesn't help, but oh well. Edit: Probably sounds stupid to tell you to download something to boost your fps after telling you not to lol. But Razer is clearly not a malicious or dangerous program. :P

Intel Core i5-3570k - $220 NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 4GB - $290 Then build your system with compatible parts around those two components, as those are the two things that are going to allow you to max out @ high-very high. You honestly really won't have to spend a ton more than what I just listed. Get a generic case, mobo (make sure it's SLI compatible) 80+ bronze PSU (preferably 600+W), some fans, HDD, and everything else you need. I suggest asking around a site like http://www.tomshardware.com/ for compatibility. The hardest part about building a PC is getting parts that are compatible with each other. After that, it is just about being careful, or, honestly if you aren't comfortable building it yourself you can take it to a shop and pay maybe 70-130 to get it put together for you. Or, you could browse around on newegg for something pre-built, but you'll end up paying more. What is your $$$ range? I HATE the idea of anyone wanting to run to elektro or cherno. CMON! If it's really how you love to play, then go for it. But seriously. You spawn, run to cherno/elektro and either die or don't find anything. Maybe you get lucky and find an ak/m16/m4... then what? It's just that playstyle that I loath. but, more power to ya. I prefer to live to kill another day.

How is 30 fps unplayable? My buddy plays dayz off his laptop and bottoms @ 9 fps in towns and cities and 12 in the woods, yet he still plays and can kill easily. How is your internet connection? Do you live in a high traffic area, or in BFE? Try to run Arma 2 single-player and see how it does when not connected to a server where you have to worry about terribad desync and a heavy load.

Here's a hum dinger! Don't go to elektro! Go to NW, NE, or anywhere else! Set a goal, try to find a certain gun, a vehicle... something! There is no such thing as boredom in vanilla DayZ. Maybe even piss someone off (don't troll) and start a rivalry with them. I play on an Origins server with a person that used to be pretty well hated on my own DayZ server for doing the "I'm friendly" and Backstabbing bullshit. My clan and his group have a huge rivalry, and although we loath every molecule of them and their squeaky little prepubescent voices, they are pretty fair DayZ players and without them the fun would be cut in half. DayZ is honestly the only game I can never get tired of. So many other games have MUCH more to actually 'do' in them, like combining items, storylines... and therefore have 'more' content than DayZ, however, in DayZ the possibilities of things you can do are endless. Nothing in the game ever happens the same twice. Plus, if you're that bored, take yourself over to Steam with 10-15 bucks and take part in the Summer Sale. So many people will regret that they didn't. Hell, pick up 4-5 NEW(ish) games for that 15 bucks! Edit: Yes, I'm kinda advertising steam a bit. Over the past week I have saved over 100$ in games and DLC, sue me for sending you over to a great deal :P
