Well, no amount of bitching is going to help their cause, as it'll be released when it is released. My problem lies solely with dates being given. I could care less what dates are missed, but of course there is a level of disappointment that is felt by every date that isn't met. Who should care? Nobody. Who does care? The whiny little over-reactors. I'm not sympathizing with them, but like I said... the Standalone DESERVES a strong, healthy, and fun community when it is released with all the work that has been put into it. All this matter of time frames and dates is ripping the community to pieces. Some STUPID fucking things have torn the community apart *cough* can immersion *cough cough*, but this one I find to not be so unreasonable. Of course some people are gonna be pissed, granted the way some react is completely uncalled for.

You're getting on my nerves man, you honestly never have anything to actually contribute to any discussion you participate in. And your grammar sucks btw. I think it isn't a bad idea. Has a lot of positive stuff that could come of it, and would fit into the whole apocalyptic setting. However, then you have the problem of people spamming them everywhere or just writing garbage on them. Maybe a pen and paper system could be utilized? You could only type a certain amount of characters before your pen runs out of ink. Pens that you find never have the same amount of ink and there would be duds everywhere(dead/dried up). Like with many legitimate suggestions, the possibilities are endless. You have my beans.

Have you downloaded any add-ons for the game that may have changed the games files in some way? I'm not familiar with this error, but it looks similar to when you try to log in with a custom skin.

His CPU is fine, he should be running better than a i5-3570k. However, that GPU is in serious need of an upgrade, badly. It'll run dayz, but I guarantee you that is why your FPS is so low. Look into upgrading your desktop to something like a... GTX 650 Ti at minimum. I'd recommend the 700 line, mainly the 760, or if you can afford it, the 780. It'll cost you though. Also, what resolution is your monitor? No way your desktop monitor is 1024x768... no way... If it is then you need to upgrade that as well. I can't see anyone thoroughly enjoying DayZ at that res. Make sure you check your monitors screen resolution and make sure it matches that setting. If you're at 1920x1080 then you should have that setting set accordingly. Also, ramp up your 3D to 100% (match your screen setting) and play with it from there, but you shouldn't see that big of an fps hit with it at 100%. Lastly, make sure v-sync, post-process, and anti aliasing are OFF.

Everyone does, and we all would be. But if we don't, I guarantee it'll be just as bad as the December incident. Which is why I hold to my point of view that IF alpha isn't out by then, then dates need to no longer be announced. I'll be buying SA no matter how long it takes, but if we don't get to see something playable by the end of those two months and then another date is announced and missed... well... I'm sorry, but I see this shit turning into a 'Boy Who Cried Wolf' situation... where the hype leading up will be decimated by disappointment. Look at standalone 3 months ago, everyone was PSYCHED. With all these dates being thrown out, people got less and less excited. Sure, that doesn't apply to us devoted members... but when SA comes out I really want to see a big united community, not a community that is at each others throats. It's not asking much, I'm not asking to see a game at all... take all the time you need rocket, but all I'm asking for is for the disappointment to end.

I'm looking at it from the perspective of kids outside your/my generation and using it as a metaphor. My post was taking what V3 said and turning it into a hypothetical metaphor :P I personally don't think rocket is a liar at all, and respect almost everything he has done to make DayZ perfect. I do however think the team has made some mistakes with announcing any sort of time frame... just like mother shouldn't have said the chicken would have been ready when she didn't know for a fact. Yes, but if 2 hours is to pass and the chicken not be ready, then mom shouldn't have said it'd be ready in 2 hours in the first place. She should have never set a specific time in the first place and told him that it'd be ready when it was ready. She would still probably get shit about it, but at least she couldn't be called a liar when the chicken wasn't ready when she said it would.

I seriously believe that all of the DayZ staff and anyone that has ANYTHING to do with the SA, need to STOP USING DATES... PERIOD! This constant mess of talking about dates and time frames, are putting the entire community on edge. Not to mention royally pissing off some people. Sure, dates are good, in moderation. But what needs to be realized is that some people don't have the brain power required to interpret the English language, and realize that when a number comes out of someones mouth, that it isn't necessarily a release date. However on the flip side, the dev team has undoubtedly, in the past, made huge mistakes by giving a specific time frame. We all know it is true, but hey, at least they're still working hard. Right? Times and numbers need to be thrown out of the window IMMEDIATELY, weekly updates should be given on the forums (doesn't have to be a video, make it a list of features or something), and when the team is 100% confident with the state of the game as an ALPHA, then a ONE WEEK release notice should be given +free beans for OfficerRaymond. Honestly, that is all anybody from the community should want/need. This post will probably come under fire from multiple angles, even though I don't see anything unreasonable about it, lol. This game is going to be in ALPHA, an Alpha doesn't need to be perfected, glitches will happen. The big ones need to be sorted of course, but honestly... I wouldn't mind finding a bug or two, why? It's part of gaming, gamers find bugs for devs to fix, we aren't just mindless drones.

Taking that into consideration, if rocket would have 'respected' the vision of the BI developers that devoloped ARMAII (the game that he modded), whose vision was to create a realistic military simulator, in the eyes of Lady, we wouldn't have DayZ Mod. What Lady was getting at, was that people should respect what Dean Hall made in DayZ and not change what it is, well, what if Dean would have been told to respect what BI made in A2 and not change it? Well, OP is right. This is a SANDBOX mod. What if Dean Hall had went ahead and said: "I'm just gonna go ahead and respect the vision of the author (BI)" Well, then we sure as hell wouldn't have DayZ would we? No, we wouldn't. This game is MEANT to be played with, and a person owning a server should give them the right to do what they wish with it. Maybe they wanna keep it vanilla, maybe they wanna go hardcore... maybe they wanna have DMRs and cows raining from the sky, it shoud be UP TO THEM to decide. If you're like me, you don't go out and pay 30 bucks a month for no reason other than to have another empty server. And don't say anything along the lines that refer to advertising better, or something like that. Your one-sided opinion is well, part of the reason the community gets some heat. Too many people on here are so single-minded that when they immediately hear someone asking for the ability to do something outside the norm, they jump on them with half minded responses like yours. News flash: there is no norm in DayZ. It's a MOD, it should be MODABLE. Go ahead, shell out 30 bucks a month dude, seriously. For ONE month.
