After the success of last years party/massacre my self and my merry band of teammates have unfortunately been unable to secure our castle in time for this years event. I’ve noticed this new “ambient footsteps bait”. It is very unnerving and don’t see what it adds except as you say anxiety. It should definitely be removed asap.

I’ve really enjoyed the added challenge of reduced capacity slots. I’ve avoided picking up a gas stove and canister until I find a pot because I can’t justify the 12 slots for something useless. Same with a lot of items. And this seems to help loot distribution (for now) as spawn locations aren’t picked clean straight away, like when you find dead zeds at a military and it’s still got some loot.. It’s also forced me to plan ahead for stashed storage via a sea chest. I also like that everyone has been slowed down, not so much of a race to fix cars or build a base. You’ve only got capacity to loot for one or the other. I haven’t really noticed the water change, I’m generally always all white and prepared to keep it that way. Can’t be doing with the sickness, cause it becomes a chore and everyone should be aiming for 95% immune system whatever the food/hydration settings. Apologies if that’s not what you wanted to hear but I’m a dayz fanboy, nothing else comes close, the adrenaline and immersion is where it’s at! See you on the coast.

Another (offline) raid today and they destroyed it all! Fortunately we’ve still got all the good loot, 4 IEDs and enough ammo for another 4 gates. You better watch out cause your base is about to go down! Mwaaahahaa….

The Russians (assumption) are back. Aggressive base invasion is there reson detre. Abusive language and threats to relatives seems the meta followed up with gas and stormtrooperesque tactics. My heart pounds, breathe held for an eternity and then the mouse crumbles under my iron grip. Whilst my team mates log on for the battle in earnest I prepare to survive and log out like a woos. Sometimes they get killed and sometimes they get a kill, usually both and everyone loses… except me. I play to survive and thrive by avoiding these lunatics… am I the only one who can’t hold their nerve when it comes to overwhelming force? I know it’s unsporting to combat log but it’s a game I love to win over the long run. On the upside they’ve made some nice additions to base and I got all their goodies they deemed worthy of saving from the wipe🥳. P.S. Great update as far as I can tell, keep up the hard work devs.

What about being able to put a full backpack/crate in all the empty seats?

That worked out ok for me. Nobodies going to log into base until after the next raid which will be in 5… 4….3…. Apreciate the heads up @merropa93.

@merropa93 Been on (pc) for an hour this morning and no server notice about wipe, no official announcement, so I’ve logged out with my ieds and ammo stash….

Been a tense week or so for base builders and hoarders like myself. With the announcement of the PC character wipe like many others we had to deposit our good loot in our base, not ideal due to an unwanted visitor that logged into our base the day after the original wipe announcement. No damage done but we suspect they’re still there. Then the night after the cancelled wipe a full raid through six gates, sympathetic and very little damage done, all rebuilt and secured. Yesterday another full six gate raid all loot disposed of including my favourite tent😢. Rebuilt again this morning and await the next raid! We’ve been lucky every raid got nothing better than a weapons cleaning kit due to our diligence in always logging out with the good loot, must be a lot of players out there with excess loot to burn or could it be the dupers using up their ill gotten gains before it’s gone? Hope all you other hoarders out there have been as lucky as us. Anyway looking forward to getting back to normal gaming soon after the character wipe (take your time devs and get it right), only been on the coast once since last wiped so I hope I can still remember how to survive on the treacherous journey home.

Hi overflex. Multiplayer servers shut down and new nitrado servers are established! I too was unaware of this change due to a massively hostile raid (great fun) that took its toll on my ability to play as much as I had been. Spring as well is a busy time for me on the farm so this suited me. I only logged in a few times to secure and salvage what I could. To my surprise the server is now gone. RIP Zolotar castle base that I had secured on day one of 1.23 until wiped 😢. Rule 1 of dayz is “Don’t get attached to your gear”. Something I forget every so often and there’s big tears. @Kyiara What was the purpose of this massive change? Any chance of spawning me a few combos, metal sheets and some barbed wire?🤪

I’m not sure if this is as intended, but I’ve spawned near my base twice since the new respawn was implemented. Lucky I guess! We have had dayz of peace and quiet, then on New Year’s Eve the nearby town was alive with vicious new spawns and had to fend them off for hours. Good times!

In my letter to Santa this year I’ve asked for: 1. Wooden fences being upgraded with metal sheets (and tinsel). Instead of having four gates with four combos you could have two reinforced gates with two combos with the same amount of protection and less fiddling with dials. 2. Id like the ability to craft a storage shelf from nails and planks that only allows for special keepsakes (severed heads of my prey) that will let those who raid me see their future or their ghost of Christmas past. 3. Depending on unforeseen circumstance (we’re suffering a wave of raids) we may be able to offer food, drinks and meds for weary travellers. And hopefully (Xmas update dependent) another spectacular fireworks display around 10pm. Again, be warned, my group thrive on chaos so if you bring some make sure it’s at least two truckloads! We look forward to welcoming new and old faces into our fortress for civil festivities and a change from the cycle of loot kill die and repeat! Craig P.S. How about adding a pepper spray? 5m range and temporarily staggers a player, dropping what’s in their hands and making them rub their face. After effects like blurry vision and moans with a remedy of water to wash face like with hands or wait a couple of minutes. Could be used as non lethal bear and wolf deterrent. I do quite like having some roaming defences at my base and would like another option to keep them nearby but be able to avoid them in a non lethal manner. Possibly using the anti bacterial spray when it’s empty and filling it with a homemade “pepper” soup cooked down in a pot. I do love a bit of crafting! Oh.. and whoever thinks they own my base the now would defo get a face full. Unless they have a gorka helmet with face shield.

I’ve found that by only keeping junk in my base peeps raid me and leave with very little. No bullets or grenades to restock after they exhaust what they brought. Folk have no interest in tyre repair, leather sewing and electrical repair kits. If they log out in the hope of better loot later they’re in for a long wait. As I’ve said elsewhere interaction is the reason you build in the first place so do try and welcome weary travellers and nosy squads.

Sorry bout that. My last toon killed 5 (mainly cold blooded murder) and then got sniped while over watching sverograd. That was a personal attack! Raging…. I play on a medium to full pop server so avoiding hire tier areas is essential if you want survive for 3 days or so in game. I only just got my first LAR since the wipe from a crashed car near base. My pal that plays a bit can go from freshie to geared in no time at all. Yep, it’s hard to keep a close eye on randoms. I like to get them to carry my backpack to keep their hands busy. If they put it down then I put them down!

Welcome back @eno. You’ve not missed much except a few million psychopathic murders😂 and a handful of base raids. Your post reminds me of the hero and bandit skins of old. The devs definitely need to add a blue checked shirt for you and your squad (if you can build one) to role play the heroes of chernarus again. Maybe even the blue helmets and a white UN jeep👊. I helped out a sickly Hector from Turkey a while ago, got him well and fed then took him to my base only to find it had been raided (again). We cleared out the building and got to securing up again with him preparing the planks and me doing the building so I trusted him too much and gave him the “keys” to the castle. Guess who got locked out of their own base? Dont forget to play for adventure and interaction, not just random killing and hoarding. Good luck.

Al I can say is “weapon maintenance” and “careful bullet selection”. Every time you fire at someone expect the unexpected. Some folk just won’t die and some are lucky SOB’s.

Sea chest and barrels are pretty handy. Tents as well, so a locker is not a necessity. Buried loot is the best way of hiding gear. I’ve previously suggested a 5 digit combo spawning in when completing a flag pole that is tied to the 60m radius, dropping out your hands when exiting. Higher base raid resistance with more visibility from the flagpole. Would also help with identifying perimeter for trap persistence by the flag. I’ve always wondered if the radius is a sphere or a column? Anyone sussed that out yet?

I c u… Probably not an original thought, but I would like a wildlife camera added to the game. Very rare spawn possibly at hunting camps or even just randomly on trees in the woods. Should easily attach to a tree or vertical post (like a street lamp or power pole possibly even a new purpose designed base structure) and can be stolen easily if spotted. Four slots and requiring a battery that drains when it’s activated by movement and sound within a twenty meter radius. Recording for 20 seconds at a time and capacity for storing 10 or so videos in a lower resolution than in game and also night vision. When in your hands it opens a menu similar to the map allowing a viewer option to see who’s been prowling my base with time stamps. Three raids now and I’ve missed them all. Would be handy to see whose been planting traps around my flagpole as well (it wasn’t me… or was it?). Is this possible?
