Attaching scopes should require a tool as well as "sighting in".
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to Aimex's topic in Suggestions
Yes, nothing stops me or anyone from using the iron sights, but I still don't see the point in over-complicating a game. It's got enough authenticity as is, going even further is just an extreme. Oh and let me say one more thing, I wouldn't necessarily mind if they did add this, I would still put in the effort for the extra sights, but I would personally prefer if they didn't put this in. If that makes sense xD xD This is honestly the first time I've ever been told "I'm playing the wrong game". Don't get me wrong, I love this game to death, I love the survival hardcore aspect. But I still think their should be limits. I don't consider myself a "Casual gamer", I don't like all of those super easy games, I like the hard games where you die over and over and have to start over and over, and where it'll take "forever" to win (Not that you can win in DayZ, even better). And you shouldn't judge someone on just one of their opinions, at least I don't think so. I love the weather effects, I love how you need an actual tool to open canned goodies, I love the death and starting over. I love everything about this game, and it'll be hard to take that away. I just don't think this would be a positive addition to the game, I'm not saying that under any circumstances should they put in anything challenging. Hope this made sense xD Kinda ranted there, just remember, I AM playing the right game, DayZ is my game xD -

I get where you're coming from, but guns, blood, and vehicles are three different things. Yes, they're all pretty "Hardcore", but they can still be done simply. Blood types, it's literally a matter of finding compatible blood (Just like finding a compatible optic for your gun). Repairing vehicles, you don't see us going into every single nut and bolt of the thing, and I don't think the devs intend that. And do you know why? Because that's taking it just too far. -

Because some people like to play a game, not a reality simulator. Yes, the game should be hard. No, it shouldn't go over the top. -

Because it is hard enough as is (imo) to find a gun that supports a sight, and then to find said sight. I just think that they shouldn't make the game too complicated, because the majority of people (That I've discussed "realism/authenticity" with) usually agrees with me that certain things (Such as this) would just be beyond the line of fun. Theirs a limit to everything, and we don't want to cross the limit because it means less people will be interested in the game. Of course this is certainly biased since I haven't talked to the whole community, nor even a fraction of it, just a couple friends and people I've met and actually held a conversation with. -
Eh, I guess, but normally I think you should still find a pair, because people wouldn't usually take just one shoe

Keep in mind this is a game, and their comes a time where you have to draw the line of realism/fun. Yes, the game should be "realistic", but no, not to an extreme. We want to be able to enjoy the game with a slight bit of ease, not having to spend days on end to acquire every little teeny part for one little thing. Yes, this game is more realistic than a lot of others, but no, this isn't designed to replicate the complexity of reality. This is where the line needs to be drawn in order to keep fans pleased. This would just be too extreme. (Keep in mind everything I said is just my opinion, don't hate) -
I try my best to be active on the forums :)

Handcar as a vehicle on railroad tracks
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to FrostyKush's topic in Suggestions
Sounds like a decent enough suggestion. As long as it sucks in comparison to most other vehicles I'm all for it -
Something for the ladies... the Pink Derringer exists!
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in General Discussion
I saw a post about them making this with a nice little photo to show it off, just didn't know it was in game already xD Glad they're adding some "funny" things in the game, gives it more character ;) I'll gladly wield that beautiful firearm into battle as long as it shoots :P -
I think they do have that puff of air come out of your mouth when it's really cold, or they used to at least. And I THINK they plan on re-working the map and whatnot to make it more apocalyptic, read it somewhere I believe, just not sure where. But yes, we need more of a horror element to it, at least in my opinion. As of right now everything looks to clean and fresh to be the apocalypse.

Skinning other players (hot topic obviously)
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to 11tw's topic in Suggestions
What I wanna see after skinning someone is a new model to pop up. I mean yeah, it'd be a pain, but they make new character models all the time, why not make for a skinned who-man. That way I can enjoy eating their nice tender thigh and have a beautiful scene to top it all off. :) -
I think that's the intention. I for one am not dissuaded yet, I am still going to eat all the human meat I can get my grubby hands on. Even if I get the shakes, my axe will chop you up real good and in time for dinner ;)

As part of the idea that certain characters spawn with certain traits (i.e. higher weight capacity, faster run, etc.) they should spawn with negatives such as bad eyesight, higher metabolism, a debilitating sickness, etc. Yes, it would give reason to again kill off your character, but these should only be applied when you get a positive trait, as to balance it out. Just an idea, and boy have I been wanting to suggest it :P

In-Game Map vs Online Map
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to youngjediknight's topic in General Discussion
I refuse to use anything that isn't the ingame map solely for immersion. I don't like ruining the experience by tabbing out of the game. Plus you can keep running even with the map open while ingame, unlike when you tab out, so advantage to me! :P Other than immersion and being able to run though, their really is no point. It doesn't really matter to me what other people do, as long as you're not ruining the DayZ experience for others. -
Cannibalism was already confirmed I think. But yes, I've already made plans to eat my captives. I'm forcing my group to agree, or else they'll get eaten as well :P

I love the one dot in the West. It's perfect.

I'll take 3. Jk stuff like this I'd be lucky to find one, so I'll be contempt with one. :D

What has been your most terrifying/violent encounter with a bandit?
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to cheeseburger8's topic in New Player Discussion
Well I was headed to Electro I think, had my nice trusty yellow raincoat, some pants and a fireaxe. I was going between this narrow area (Forget exactly where) when four guys decked out in military gear and M4's jumped from the bushes and told me to get on the ground. I complied, thinking maybe if I listen I could get away with my life. So they handcuffed me, stuffed rotten food in my face, and punched me to near death. I called them cowards, and they threatened to shoot me dead. I told them to waste the bullets, I've lost everything already, and one of them said "Oh don't worry, we have plenty to spare for you" (Or something along those lines) and shot me down... -
Cant get dayz to work on anything. Please help
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to Simpfe's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I haven't played the DayZ mod in ages, but back when I played it I used Playw/6 (If I remember the name correctly). I've had better luck with them than DayZ commander, and once you get the hand of it it's fairly simple. I don't even know if Playw/6 is still up, but if you can find it, try and download the DayZ mod from them. Good luck :) -
Are you able to throw anything at all? Make sure your key is still binded :)

The good and the bad of 50th patch
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to kakysas666's topic in General Discussion
I'm only experiencing the problem with wells and a major influx of loot, but other than that I'm not having problems with any of these things you've mentioned. Maybe it's just my lack of play time recently. Oh and just flip your headset around? xD -
Human trophy parts like an Ear Necklace, because we are bored.
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to danceswithzeds's topic in Suggestions
Daryl Dixon. The Walking Dead. Non-creative humans who seek to copy one another just for the sake of being cool. Non-hipsters. The list can go on and on. -
Were you healthy? Was he healthy (You can't know this)? We need details (As Whyherro123 above me stated)!!

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
I completely agree, I'm fairly certain (If I'm recalling this right) that this was in the mod, I don't think it'd be very hard to accomplish, but I could be wrong, I don't know anything about this kind of stuff xD
